Sometimes when I get up in the morning, my dog stays in bed with my husband. I'll know she's awake when I see her paw beneath the door. It's like her way of signaling she's up and ready to be let out!

Oh so true. We have a cat door in the sunroom, so one kitty or the other sits by the door in the living room wanting their personal door person. Moi. They have me trained.

Cat people need to get the lever style door openers instead of nobs. Then the cats can open them all on their own. My dog is almost tall enough to do it but cats are smarter than him, they'd jump up and pull the lever down.
Cats are way smarter than dogs. I noticed that years ago. š

Not sure about that, but it does remind me of when I lived in my house. My next door neighbor's cat kept trying to get into my house. One day my bug man let him in! He thought the little guy was mine. ACHOO!

Ain't that the truth. We have three and we often have what I call the mystical, magical cat transfer. One cat will go out and another scurries inside. This is repeated throughout the day, usually at five minute intervals.
