It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for. I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
Last weekend hubby and I had a yacht club function in Rio Vista, California at Delta Marina Yacht Harbor. We exited our slip Thursday morning and made our way to Rio Vista. It’s a grueling 1.5 hours to get there. We got docked and hooked up with the commodore and her husband and enjoyed the afternoon on their boat. Then it started raining so we moved to our boat (a bit more room), and enjoyed more of the afternoon and a great dinner.
Friday brings many boats to the dock. That evening everyone went to The Point Restaurant for dinner. There might have been some alcohol being consumed on our boat after dinner. It’s a noisy and fun evening.
Saturday is the day the Coast Guard Auxiliary inspect our boats. Yes we passed and have a nice 2018 sticker on our boat that says our boat in in compliance with all equipment and safety regulations.
Next there are Hors d’oeuvres and a themed game or contest. This trip it was doggy costumes. The commodores dog won first place. Next is dinner and we had tons of food. We always do. After clean up and when it gets dark it’s movie night. Complete with popcorn and candy. A huge hit.
Sunday morning we head back to our marinas. We are tired, but it was a great time. The pictures below were taken by one of our club members (Jo T.) on our way back from our weekend.
The Three Mile Slough Bridge had to be opened so our five boats could leave the Sacramento River and enter Three Mile Slough.
This is our boat (Anewatee) and we’re right in front of the boat taking the pictures (Sporting Wood).
At the bottom of this photograph you can see our club burgee on the vessel Sporting Wood. Next is Anewatee, then Indolence, then Midlife Woody and in the lead is Our Destination. All of these boats are in two different marinas very close to each other.
I’m so very thankful that we are still healthy enough to enjoy this wonderful venue.
What are you thankful for today?
sounded like an awesome weekend!
It was. We came home exhausted, but it was lots of fun. Can’t wait for the next cruise next month. 🙂
it’s only once a month? For some reason, I thought you both sailed more often
Yes, we should be thankful for health.
I am so very thankful for my health. We are getting long in the tooth, but we are healthy. 🙂
How grand! And congratulations! You must be as excited as i get when our cars pass inspection.
Yes, it’s a good thing. We work hard to make sure our boating season is safe and we have the equipment we need. It’s a wonderful feeling. 🙂
Goodness, that sounds like such a fun week end. Also love the pictures of your boat and the others. Great post. Sandee, you and Zane have a fantastic day.
You’ve seen our boat before when we were doing the remodel. It looks so small there, but it’s really a good sized boat. You have a fantastic day too, Marg. Scritches to all your babies. 🙂
I’m thankful for the beautiful, blue skies yesterday. It was super windy but otherwise a gorgeous day. I’m thankful for being at a place, where we do not need to struggle from pay check to pay check anymore. It’s nice being able to put aside a little each time for emergencies. That’s something we couldn’t do for years. Thanks for visiting!

Hubby and I are comfortable too. We worked from paycheck to paycheck back in the day. So glad that is over. We put aside money for rainy days too. 🙂
I can only imagine what fun you had and the water looks wonderful! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Some folks like to camp, some folks like to travel, some folks like to RV and we LOVE to go boating. I love this blog hop. 🙂
Yes indeed, as we age and see friends struggle with health issues we become very thankful for the health that we have and medical science for the knowledge to manage some of the issues that plague us. Enjoy the cruise season. Have a blessed week-end.
Hubby and I have our aches and pains, but we don’t complain about them. We have friends that are going through horrible stuff right now. Scary stuff. You have a blessed weekend too. 🙂
What a wonderful and fun way to spend the weekend! Have a great time!
We can’t think of a better way for us to spend our weekends. Nothing like going on a cruise with friends. 🙂
Oh I can smell that delightful saltwater from here! What I wouldn’t give to join you!! xoxo
This is fresh water here. You have to go to Benicia to find the brackish water. Then to the bay where it is saltwater. I’d would love to have you join us. xoxo 🙂
That sounds like a wonderful time.
It was a most wonderful time, Ellen. Our first real cruise of the season. 🙂
I’m thankful that it’s warm weather year round here, and that even when it gets ‘cold,’ it’s not really all that bad!
I could do without winter. The other three seasons are fine. This year winter has hung on for a very long time. Looks like most of the U.S. has had a tough winter. 🙂
Can’t wait till it is warm enough to get out on the lakes here. But next Thursday….I head to the beach.
We love being on the water too. It’s warm here then it’s back to cold and rain. Next week it will be in the 80s. I don’t know how long that will last though. 🙂
A fun time and a passed inspection. A winning weekend
It was that indeed, Ann. We had fun too. 🙂
Sounds like a fun time for all! 😻
Everyone had a great time. We always do on Safety Day. We have a big potluck dinner after all the work is done and it’s lots of wonderful food. 🙂
It sounds like a blast.
Of all the places we’ve been and all the things we’ve done, boating is by far the most fun. We love everything about boating. 🙂
Looks like a lot of fun 🙂
I’m thankful God answers our prayers for our children.
I’m happy that God has answered your prayers for your children. 🙂
Fabulous Sandee! Much love!
It was a fun weekend, Kathe. We love boating so very much. 🙂
Practicing gratitude is so rewarding. It really helps to make you feel calm, happy and balanced, no matter what life grows at you!
I agree that gratitude is important. I try to be thankful each and every day. All we need to is look around at all the blessings. 🙂
I am thankful to have found love again.
How wonderful for you Greg. I found it finally in my late 40s. It’s been most wonderful too. 🙂
Have you thought about branching into submarines?
I’ve never thought about submarines, Kismet. I don’t think I would like that much. 🙂
I can tell that you have lots and lots of blessings in your life. What a fun time you had!
I had to laugh that I posted about the desert and you posted about boating (opposites)! I am always so thankful when we can be camping someplace beautiful in either the desert or the mountains!
Doing what we love is a wonderful thing. My life wasn’t always filled with blessings and the journey was long, but I’ve been in a wonderful place because of my husbands love. Scritches to Shyla. 🙂
This sounds fabulous and I love that there was a doggy costume competition. That bridge is fascinating, I’ve never seen one that lifts up.
Love hearing about your thankful things.
We do some crazy things sometimes, but it’s fun. Why not have a bit of fun. 🙂
Sounds like you had a great time (even with the rain).
It only rained for about an hour on Thursday. The rest of the weekend was nice. Saturday was perfect weather. 🙂
Sounds like you had a great time. Keep it up!
We did indeed. Boating for us is most wonderful. We intend to keep it up for as long as we can. 🙂
Gorgeous water shots!
Happy Weekend to you,

We had a great weekend on the water, Carol. Scritches to Zoe. 🙂
I nominated you for the Awesome Blogger Award And The Why I Love Me Tag. Post is at https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/2018/04/20/awesome-blogger-award-and-the-why-i-love-me-tag/
Thanks for the nominations, Crystal. I didn’t do anything here, but I did answer the question on your blog. 🙂
Thanks for the photos, Sandee, do you sleep in your boats? Where do you watch movies? You guys sound like a hoot and a half, good for you all.
The boat is self contained. There is a galley where we cook our meals. There is a head with a shower where we can do our business and stay clean. There is a wonderful bed for us to sleep. We have spent up to two weeks on our boat as we’ve traveled here and there. It’s wonderful. 🙂
I would love to purr on the boat with you, that must have been so exiting, Sandee 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy sunny Sunday 🙂 <3
I would have loved having you purr on our boat with us too. You’re always welcome and so is your mom. 🙂
I envy the whole idea of the spray of the water on your face and the wind blowing your hair! I am glad you had fun!
We love boating. It’s the best form of recreation we could have chosen. 🙂
