The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery . The ceremony commences precisely at 11:00 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by Veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries. The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces. Source: U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Love the photos……Veterans Day is a very special day. My Mom has attended many ceremonies at Arlington Cemetery and when we lived closer to it, she visited her Dad’s grave there at least once a week to “give him a virtual hug”. Anyway, the changing of the guard and other ceremonies are so moving and Veterans Day especially moving.

We observe Armistice Day in the same way and observe the silence in memory of all the heroes, living and dead at 11am.
