Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Awww…Mondays post.
What better way to start the week than with a smile.

Our babies go wherever they want to go and that includes the kitchen counters. We rarely say no to anything they do. We love them so. Do you let your kitties or pups go where they want?
Message from Zane: We are on the back end of this problem. What is constantly in mind is the miracle of modern medicine. Not that long ago I would have simply slid into terminal kidney failure.
Surgery was a success. As a reminder I had benign prostatic hyperplasia which is a condition that affects older men. My prostate had grown to the point that I was retaining about a liter of urine, causing constant UTI and kidney failure. None I was aware of.
I have had no real pain, only mild discomfort. I want to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers and friendship.
Zane

OH, Zane, we are so thankful for your new self, and yes, modern medicine is to be lauded! These things happen, papa told me about what can happen with older men, and it’s pretty common and can be fixed! Uh…we don’t use that word around here, haha…reminds me of when I was long ago, but it was for the best. Too many kitties without homes in this world….
We’re so happy with his surgery and his wonderful progress. It’s so nice the catheter is gone. Kitties can go where they want in their home. ๐
Kitties very much rule the house and that is okay!
Glad to read about Zane’s recovery.
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Our kitties rule the house and we’re good with that. It’s all about them. We’re thrilled with the surgery progress. Doing the happy dance. Hugs to you and scritches to the kitties. ๐
๐
When I had cats they would go wherever they wanted as well. These days it’s Gibbs who can go wherever he wants but he MUST be supervised.
So glad that things went well with Zane’s surgery. It is amazing how modern medicine has advanced and what they can do these days is astounding.
It’s almost impossible to keep kitties from going and doing what they want. We just don’t bother. It’s their home, too. We are thrilled with his progress. Such a difference. ๐
The cat looks so super cute
They are most wonderful family members. ๐
Zane, the strides medicine has taken in one of the best things about our times now. Thanks for the updates and prayers you will remain healthy and keep healing. of course we let Beau do what ever he wants, but thank goodness that he can’t get on the counters, ha ha…I did grin like an idiot looking at your sweet babies. LOVE the corner sink
Zane is doing so well. We are both so happy with the surgery results. Each day is better. I know you let Beau do what he wants. It’s his home, too. Happy week, Sandra. Scritches to Beau. ๐
Such great news that surgery was successful and you’re on the tail end of this issue, Mr. Zane!
We’re both doing the Happy Dance. So happy for the wonderful results. ๐
Happy day, happy news ~ and paws together for your continued good recovery, and full health, Zane (happy days for you, as well, Ms Sandee). And as for the post/picture … ah yes, JUNE preps my coffee and helps with the prep of her own meals, trying to steal a bite or two ahead of time before it reaches her bowl. On the counter tops? Absolutely. Cat fur in my coffee? Always!
We are thrilled with the surgery results. Each day is better than the last. Our kitties can go where they want. It’s their home, too. Scritches to June. ๐
Modern medicine can do amazing things. Mom would have died three years ago without it. We are so glad things are working out well for you and medicine was able to fix the plumbing ๐ As for the kitties, Mom never wanted cats on the counter, but our last one was always up there and he stole food all the time. She doesn’t miss that. We dogs can go pretty much everywhere in the house. We are all family and it is our home so we should be able to do what we would like to.
Modern medicine is indeed amazing. You’re lucky and so is hubby. You can’t keep cats off anything. They go where they want to go. ๐
Thanks for the update and so happy to hear that you are doing well.
We “attempt” to keep our cats off the counters … for the most part it works … but sometimes I’ll come home from work and see things moved or paw prints …. hmmmm…. I’ve seen THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS!! ha ha
When you’re not there the cats will go where they want to go. Bless their hearts. We’re happy about Zane’s progress. So happy. ๐
Such sweet kitties! Ours are not allowed on the counters in the kitchen, only because there are things there that could hurt them. Zane, we’re so happy to hear that good news today and yes, hooray for modern medicine. Take care of yourself!
We’ve moved anything that can hurt them and let them go where they please. We’re always washing down the counters and putting out new kitchen towels. Zane is doing so very well. We’re most happy. ๐
Zane thank you so very much for your health update and most of all for sharing this health issue. Many will appreciate it.
Absolutely MADI had full access to the entire house.. From the ceiling to the floor. Saturday was her 22 gotcha day. I featured one of her epic leaps from the island to the counter top.
The only being in here who ever said NO was Madi we realized we lived her at Madi’s will.
Hugs Cecilia
Zane thought it was time for an update since there has been so much progress. We’re so happy. We don’t want the word no to be something our kitties hear all the time. They do what they want to do. Hugs, my friend. ๐
AND there are peole who say their cats don’t get on the counters…I say they do but they are too smart to do it when you are looking and saying NO
You can always find their paw prints. Hugs. ๐
Now those are adorable baristas! Happy Monday.
They are indeed. Squeaker (the black one) is full of mischief. She’s into everything. Happy Monday and week. Scritches to the pups. ๐
Oh Sandee…don’t you know, cute pets aren’t capable of committing mischief. ๐ฅฐ
Our cats do what they want except the dining room is off limits for safety because of the plants. I am glad Zane is doing well and the issue was found before it ruined his kidneys. Thanks for hosting. XO
Plants are something kitties don’t need to be around. I’m with you. We’re thrilled with hubbies progress. I was worried for the first couple of days and then things improved so much that I’m no longer worried. ๐
I love you my Perfect Beautiful. I love our Kitties. Your loving Husband.
I love you my Perfect Husband and I love our kitties. I’m so happy you’re doing so well. ๐
For the most part Lucy has the run of the house. However she does sleep in her kennel, except during thunder storms and fireworks. Also she is not allowed to beg food and we don’t feed her anything from the table. Otherwise, the “House Princess” rules her kingdom.
You’re smart not to feed Miss Lucy people food. It’s not really good for them. Happy Awww Monday and week, my friend. ๐
Zane, thank you for the great update. So happy this could be resolved or contained before it, well, you know. As for as our pups, yes, they have limits. Not allowed on the kitchen counter (Chia does anyhow) both to keep them out of our food (which now never goes there because of Chia) and Angel Lexi hurt herself jumping off there when she was caught sniffing apples. Same thing with eating tables, but Chia and now Xena get up there anyhow. sigh The only restriction I had on the cats when I had cats (husband allergic to them) was not on the stove for safety reasons.
We’re thrilled with his progress. Modern medicine is wonderful. Chia does what she wants. I’m not surprised. You made me smile. ๐
I wasn’t aware of Zane’s problem, but it sounds like it has been thankfully taken care of. Medical treatments have sure come a long way.
He’s doing very well and he’s getting better each and every day. Modern medicine is amazing. ๐
Great news, Zane! Modern medicine is a wonder. As for the cats…here the kitchen counter is a big no but both Jack and Sophie sleep on the table sometimes.
Yes great news on Zane’s progress. Our kitties haven’t slept on our table yet, but just about everywhere else. ๐
Zane ~ so good to hear you are on the mend ~ such good news.
Your kitties are a delight and am sure they glad to have you back ~
Hugs and love to all from me and Ziggy ~
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
We’re both doing the Happy Dance for his wonderful progress. So happy. You and Ziggy have a fabulous day and week, Carol. Love and hugs to you both. ๐
I’m so happy to read Zane’s good report on his health. Modern medicine is truly a blessing which I’ve often thought the same. Take it easy and speedy healing to you!!
Your kitties are so cute. The one in front of the coffee machine is trying to tell you something I believe. lol I’m right there with that one, another cup of coffee please! ๐
He’s monitoring intake and output and it’s amazing the difference each day makes. We’re so pleased and he had such a wonderful doctor. Squeaker is into everything. Bless her heart. She’s pure kitten. Hugs. ๐
I’m so happy to hear Zane is doing well.
My girls go wherever they want. Only Kit goes on the kitchen counters, the other two don’t seem to have any interest in going there. But, if they wanted to, I wouldn’t stop them ๐
Happy Monday!
We’re happy about Zane’s progress. Each day is better. We’re the same way about our kitties. This is their home and they can go and do what they please. We’ve kitty proofed precious things, but that’s it. ๐
Looks like the kitties want their morning coffee lol!
What great news Zane, we continue to send POTP that you finish healing quickly!
They go where they go and so what they want. We’re good with that. We are so happy with hubbies progress. Thank the good Lord. Scritches to the pups. ๐
Wonderful news for a successful surgery. ๐
Yes when we had cats and dogs they were allowed everywhere. we just had to make sure there weren’t cords to chew, or flowers to eat, or hot stoves to get onto, and any other dangers around. Just like babies! ๐
Happy Monday and new week! <3
They will go anywhere no matter if you say no. It’s to much energy to say no. We’re happy about hubbies progress. Such a huge difference. Happy Monday and week. ๐
Sandee, I am so glad about Zane’s successful surgery. Our kitty can go anywhere she wants to except we try to keep her off the kitchen counters. She stays off the kitchen counters when we’re around but at night when we’re asleep, she goes where she pleases. Happy Monday!
We’re happy about Zane’s progress, too. So happy. At night our babies will go in all the places we’d they rather not go. The way of cats. ๐
Cats rule! ๐ธ
Yes pixie goes where she wishes and I have her obedient mother
As it should be, Cloudia. Our babies go where they wish, too. Scritches to Pixie. ๐
OK, just tell me how you like your coffee, and I will have it ready in a sec:)
So happy to hear that Zane is on the way back. Our human brother-in-law’s father has the exact same problem and he can’t get his surgery until July 31!!! He is on a waiting list for an earlier date. Doing the happy dance for you and Zane.
Woos – Misty and Timber and Mom
We are thrilled with the surgery. He’s better each day. We’re doing the Happy Dance, too. Scritches to the pups. ๐
As long as you clean the counter before you cook, it doesn’t really matter, does it.
Mr. Zane, I’m still praying and will continue to pray for both of you.
Scritches to those kitties.
No, it doesn’t matter.
Zane is doing very well. Hugs. ๐
Once again, nobody changed the filter. Great news about the surgery
You’re probably right. Hadn’t thought of that.
We’re thrilled about his progress. ๐
Great news on your husband an that they found it all in time (if i read it correctly!) #Awwmondays
All is well with hubby. In healing mode now. ๐
I’m glad things are looking up for Zane! I have heard UTIs can cause so many problems that mimic other medical conditions, so it’s good that those will be going away too! We let our cat go wherever she wants. When my kids’ aunt comes to visit she hates it and will shoo her off of the furniture. She gets perturbed that I let her get on the couches. Craziness, right??? Um, the cat lives here, hello. ๐
Zane is doing very well. Lots of healing left, but he’s so much better than before his surgery. We’re most happy.
Yes the cat lives here and you don’t. I hear you. Happy week, my friend. ๐
Such good news for Zane. We pray that his health continues to improve. Though we try to keep the gang off the island when we are eating, they so outnumber us that we pretty much lost control years ago. Love seeing your babies. Thanks again for the link up. Hugs, Janet and XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
Zane is doing so very well. We are both pleased with his progress. So nice to have the surgery behind us. Our kitties aren’t interested in eating our food so we can eat in peace. Love and hugs all around. ๐
Ours pretty much stay off of the counters, for whatever reason, but they do go pretty much everywhere else. ๐
So glad to hear you’re on the mend, Zane!
They do what they want to do. It’s all good.
Sane is doing great. ๐
Now, that is super cute. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
They are such fun. We love them so and they have fit into our home so wonderfully. ๐
Wonderful news about Zane! And I always say, it’s the cat’s house too. They can go wherever they want!
You’re right about the kitties. We feel the same. We’re happy about Zane’s progress as well. ๐
We never had kitties jump on counters until Terra and Polly Dactyl started doing it. Admonishment wasn’t worth the trouble, so I’m thankful for Clorox wipes. lol And I’m even more thankful for Zane’s improved health. This made my day. Blessings and hugs, my dear.
Kitties do what they want in their home.
Zane is doing very well. Thank you. ๐
First, I am so sorry I am just seeing this now! I am so happy that Zane is doing well! Also, I don’t like Roary being on the kitchen counter because he is ALWAYS on a quest for food lol. I do allow him on the kitchen table and the dining room table as long as there isn’t any food on it.
Zane is doing very well. We’re happy with the outcome. Our kitties are always begging for treats. Love and hugs to you and scritches to the boys. ๐
