The Atlantic ghost crab, Ocypode quadrata, is a species of ghost crab. It is a common species along the Atlantic coast of the United States, where it is the only species of ghost crab; its range of distribution extends from its northernmost reach on beaches in Westport, Massachusetts, south along the coasts of the tropical Western Atlantic Ocean to the beach of Barra do Chui, in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. Aww…he’s such a cutie, Sandee <3 Boooo crabbie👻 Pawkisses for a wonderful day🐾😽💞
He sure is. It couldn’t be any cuter. You have a wonderful day too, Little Binky. My best to your granny. 🙂
Adorable but could you take him for a walk on a leash?
We could try, but I don’t think he’d like it. 🙂
Well he’s rather interesting looking.
And cute and adorable. 🙂
Seymour gets spooked by crabs. He knows you know what he just did there…
I do know what he did just there. Remember I know how Seymour rolls. 🙂
That guy is adorable! How could anyone say it is a crab when it looks so cute and happy?
I think he’s adorable too. All he needs is a bow tie. 🙂
That little one is so darn cute!
That’s what I thought. Cute as a bug, or is it cute as a crab. 🙂
How cute. I think I’ve seen that little guy on the beach by our house! 🙂
Sandee, I hope you’re having a terrific day. Thank you for hosting, my friend!
You probably have and I agree he’s cute. I’m having a terrific day and I hope you are too. 🙂
Well that is an up close and personal photo and look at those peepers.
Hugs Cecilia
I loved those peepers. Hugs back, my friend. 🙂
That sure is an unusual looking crab. My guess is that aren’t many of those. Sandee you and Zane have a super day. Hope you are getting good wearher.
They are in specific areas. Very unique looking. We’re having good weather today and tomorrow it’s supposed to be in the mid 80s. 🙂
Meowser Ms Sandee, that is a cute crabby! And supposedly s/he lives near me, but I haven’t met one… yet… s/he looks like a lot of fun to play with, so I must research more to find out where they live!
Purrseidon
I would go looking for these if I lived where they are. So cute. 🙂
Awesome crab photo ~ Xox to you ~ from Ms. Z and me ~ ^_^

Yes they are fun to watch move along. You have a great day too, Ellen. 🙂
Um…looks like a big ol’ sand spider…
Well, it might be just that, but he sure looks happy. 🙂
I think he’s ready for a beach party.
He he is. Wonder what he’s bringing. 🙂
Binky’s comment made me laugh. 🙂 Be well, my dear!
I love my commenters. They leave some funny comments at times. You be well too. 🙂
Sandee, I love these little crabs. They are so much fun to watch. I have dozens of photos of them from our trips to the British Virgin Islands. Thanks for linking us up. Hugs from me and Cooper Murphy, Janet

Happy Wednesday! <3
Me too because he looks so happy. Happy Wednesday to you too. 🙂
Cute little guy!
Yes indeed. We have to keep all the kitties away from this little fella. 🙂
This crab has kinda put me off eating any crabs–interesting facts though.
It’s so cute I agree with you, Greg. 🙂
Doesn’t look crabby to me.
It doesn’t look crabby to me either, Kismet. He looks like a happy little crab. 🙂
This makes mom hungry for soft-shell crabs. Can you eat him?!☺
Yes you can eat them. I’ve friends that go to Boston all the time for them. 🙂
Sandee,
I think the Internet ate my comment. That’s a cute little hermit crab. I featured one for Awww Mondays this week. Great minds think alike, I see. 😉
I know that’s why I said great minds yesterday on your Awww Monday post. 🙂
Now that is one cute crab 💯 Have a relaxing Wednesday Sandee. Love you bunches honey ❤
I thought it was cute too. You have a relaxing Wednesday too, Jody. Love you back. 🙂
That’s one pretty cool looking crab! 🦀
I thinks it’s cool too. 🙂
I have never seen one of those. Nature and our world is truly amazing!
I’ve not either, but I would love to see one for real. 🙂
That is one very spooky looking crab!!! We wouldn’t want to meet him in the dark:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
He just wants to have fun like the rest of us. 🙂
These types of crabs always make me laugh…especially when I see them scurry sideways across the sand. xoxo
The sideways is the cutest part. 🙂
Yep, those are the ones we have in Florida at the beach. It’s such fun to watch them scuttle.
I would think so. I love all sea critters that won’t hurt you that is. 🙂
Hi Sandee, I put my link in. I got a laugh out of the picture and hope you and everyone else does too.
Thanks for joining in on the fun. 🙂
That’s an interesting looking guy! Those black eyes don’t fit but they’re cute!
We’re having beautiful weather here, hope you are too!
I thought he was most cute. We are having great weather too. 🙂
Whoa! What an ugly critter. Looks like a stuffie.
Some think he’s cute and some don’t. Oh well. 🙂
Now that is one cute critter. Love those eyes that look like are just sitting there on its head.
I thought this little guy was adorable. I wanted to do something different too. 🙂

It would be hard to leave alone since you’re a hunter. I would love for you to catch that tree rat and give that evil thing a whopping. Just saying. 🙂
Such a beautiful pic. Thanks for sharing it.
You’re most welcome, Patrick. Thanks for linking up and commenting. 🙂
When we had hurricane weather last year, a blue crab washed up from the nearby pond in our condo. The neighbor lady and I drove him back to his home. He ran so fast to get back to that water, lol. I was scared to pick it up. My neighbor who is in her 80s scooped him up. She pretended she was letting him out of the box I gave her for him, and I told her I’d wreck the car on accident if she did that again. I never heard someone laugh so hard. My poor nerves. 😉 🙂
I would have helped bring him back to his home. You’ve a good heart, Rosey. 🙂
Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Happy Wordless Wednesday to you too. 🙂
Those beady eyes!!!! What an amazing photo!
I thought this little guy was most adorable. 🙂
that’s a strange looking crab
I thought is was so cute though and I loved doing something a bit different. 🙂
I think it’s interesting. If I knew how to paint watercolors, I would love to paint it. It is different from any other crab I’ve seen so it makes it intriguing. I love how nature makes the same thing like a crab but with a crazy amount of variety.
