About Drunks

Well I don’t get drunk BUT after a long day of running around with errands, housework, yard work, I FEEL like this girl passed out on the chair!
Hugs, Pam
Hubby and I love a glass of champagne, but not to get drunk. A hug to you and scritches to handsome Teddy. ๐
That’s an interesting statistic! I haven’t been drunk in decades. ๐ Passed out on the furniture? More common. ๐ด
That makes two of us. I enjoy my champagne, but not to get drunk. Happy hump day and rest of the week. Thanks for playing along today. ๐
We used to drink and party a lot in our younger days, but getting drunk was infrequent and always accidental. ๐ณ I don’t understand the mindset of some people who say “Let’s go out and get drunk”. ๐ค It seems that attitudes have changed for the better, though. In Europe, we are taught how to drink responsibly at a young age and there are no taboos about alcohol. I think that’s a better way than the “forbidden fruit” stance in North America. Teenagers always want what they’re not supposed to have! Thank YOU Sandee, and enjoy the rest of your week. ๐ฅ
How very sad.
I had no idea. It is sad though. ๐
excessive drinking is promoted on so many levels ๐
You’re right about that, Klara. Happy Wordless Wednesday. ๐
Both my first and second husband fell into that category. Of course both would claim they weren’t drunk but they could certainly spot someone else who was.
I hear you. Drunks always aren’t drunk. They will argue the point forever. ๐
I enjoy my drink, but not to excess. I was drunk a few times as a teenager, but not to the point of passing out. Not that I can remember anyway! ๐
We are on the same page. Nothing better than a nice glass of wine with a fine meal, but not to excess. ๐
Such a waste of time and life. Our Mom doesn’t drink at all and of course neither do we dogs.
I hear you. I like a glass of champagne or wine with a good meal. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to the pups. ๐
Even when I was younger, I never got drunk, because the thought of the consequences was too scary. I saw too many friends mess up their lives by drinking way too much. I enjoy red wine in moderation, and maybe a beer on a hot day. Otherwise, I prefer to drink coffee. Happy Wednesday. Hugs!
We are on the same page. I’m with you. Happy Wednesday, Eugenia. Hugs. ๐
Hugs, backatcha, Sandee!
I’ve seen some rather sad results of that practice. I’ve been known to have several beers a year (not all at once!) and that’s about it, anymore. Alana ramblinwithm
We don’t drink much anymore either. It’s sad when you can’t function without booze. ๐
You are incredible with this post! I never thought about figures of this kind.
Probably is better to say drunk instead of dead…!
Is it also something about how many people are enlightenment?๐
Hugs, dear Sandee! Happy WW!
Hear you in two weeks ahead!โค๏ธ๐
I was very surprised by this. It’s a horrible thing to be drunk. Happy rest of the week, Suzana. Hugs. ๐
That is sad. I am a teetotaler because I saw the effects of alcoholism on my older sister at an early age. Thanks for hosting. Have a nice day. XO
Once you’ve seen a family member struggle with this horrible disease you have not idea how horrible it is. ๐
I do not drink, and never have, because our family had several drunks like this one and my dad was a pastor and there were a lot of alcoholics in the families that went to the church. alcohol terrifies me. Bob’s wife died like this at age 42, she literally drank herself to death, including catching the kitchen on fire and another time the sofa in the living room on fire. and we never know if that genetic thing is there to grab us
I hear you. Having folks that have battled this disease makes your opinion of alcohol far different. I’ve had friends that drank themselves to death. So sad. ๐
We have more that our share here in the South.
Being drunk isn’t attractive one bit. Happy day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
That is a very sad statistic.
It sure is. I had no idea how many folks are drunk at any given time. ๐
Mom read that fewer people are drinking but more are smoking and vaping.
I think you’re right about that. Pot will take over alcohol at some point. ๐
Sometimes I feel drunk, even without drinking….MOL…Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day and Week ahead, dear Sandee, Zane and your sweet kitties too๐พ๐ฝ๐
I do the same thing at times. I think it may be my age. Double Pawkisses to the kitties and a big hug to Granny. ๐
That is such a scary thought!!!
I was very shocked by this. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the girls. ๐
Well, in this crazy world we live in, I can see why so many people drink! lol
I hear you. Drinking is a sport for some and getting drunk is their goal. ๐
It is a disease like any other sickness ~ needs treatment ~ hugs,
Hugs and love to you and your family ~ carol and ziggy
You’re right about that. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. ๐
Thatโs a whole lot of people impaired all at the same time. Hopefully the majority!are sleeping it off, and arenโt driving or operating machinery. Happy Wednesday, Sandee!
Hopefully they aren’t driving. Happy Wordless Wednesday, my friend. ๐
And why aren’t I drunk right now?!?
Where’s the par-tay?
I don’t know where the party is. Happy Wednesday. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
Thank God I’m a friend of Bill W and Doctor Bob off and on since 1971. Have I been sober that long no my longest rune started December 15 1987 I mananged to stay sober when I was watching my Celestine fade away in October 2020 from kidney failure. that streak ended when Life was overwhelmed me on 02/01/2022 and again on 12/17/2023. Today by the Grace of God as I understand Him & The Great Spirt & Father Sky and mother Earth I have 1 Year 8 Months and 9 days or a total of 618 straight days Sober.
I know you had a hard time after Celestine passed, but I’m so proud of you for putting that behind you and getting back on track. Scritches to Screwball. ๐
Honestly, given the current state of the world I can’t really blame them.
The world has been a mess for a very along time. No matter who’s in charge. ๐
That’s sad. Wonder how many are “high.”
That’s a whole other thing. Maybe even more. Scritches to the pups. ๐
All I can say is WOW! I don’t drink and don’t understand the appeal of getting drunk. The day after is reason enough to avoid it at all cost. Everything in moderation is the way to govern oneself.
I drink, but not to get drunk. Not a good idea at all. Moderation is key in most things. ๐
Absolutely….moderation is the key!
So sad, but unfortunately it does happen.
Thank you, Sandee, for the weekly linkup party. Happy #WW.
My entries this week #44+45
Hope you will join ES #WW https://esmesalon.com/tag/wordlesswednesday/ NOW OPEN
It is sad and I had no idea. Happy WW and rest of the week. Thank you for all you do. ๐
OMCs I had no idea….they are missing out on so much of life’s wonderful things.
Hugs Cecilia
You’re right about that. Hugs to you and Kit and scritches to the kitties. ๐
How very sad! An occasional drink is one thing but not to get drunk.
Hope you have a great Wednesday and rest of the week!
I agree. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Yvonne. ๐
Wow, that is a statistic I did not know. Well hopefully that changes over time. As wisdom comes with age. Thank you Sandee for this sober (no pun intended) look at everyday events. Happy Wednesday. Much love and hugs to you dear friend.
I was shocked by this. So sad. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. Love and hugs. ๐
Thank dear friend. Blessings to you.
I am pleased to say I have NEVER been drunk, although one time when I was angry I got a little buzz by drinking two hard drinks pretty fast… more than 40 years ago.
Since 2023, I have been a teetotaler as I figured I only have a certain number of brain cells left and I need them all. EVERY alcoholic drink destroys SOME cells, but with so many, most of us can still function, but going without just saves more of those precious neurons!๐
Good plan. Happy anniversary, my friend. ๐
How sad. I am so glad I was delivered from that 27 years ago!
Good for you. We enjoy a glass of wine/champagne, but we don’t overdo. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Chrissy. ๐
Yikes! That’s a lot of booze, and doesn’t even include those who are just having one and not getting pie-eyed.
I pray you and Mr. Zane have a fabulous rest of the week. Hugs to you and sritches to Lil’ Bit and Squeaker from me, okay?
No it doesn’t. Getting drunk isn’t fun.
You and Mr. Sweetie have a blessed rest of the week, too. Love and hugs. ๐
At least they started with the champagne…just needed to stop….
Everything in moderation. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Lydia. ๐
That’s sad ๐ Thanks for sharing.
I had no idea. I was shocked. ๐
I enjoy a beer or cocktail as much as anyone, but lord help me if I ever get THAT plastered! Yikes.
I hear you. Hugs. ๐
That picture, minus the alcohol…because I have a drink once every ten years, if that) is me after work, hahahaha. They reassigned me to 9th graders again and they’re great kids but they’re busy and they make me tired. Exhausted. Hoping all is well there. Have a happy day.
I hear you. Kids can wear you out for sure. Happy day and Labor Day weekend. ๐
An… hic … intersting … burp … fact!
It is. I enjoy an adult beverage now and then, but I don’t want to get plastered. ๐
Dad makes a mean Margarita, ๐น
but too much of a good thing is BAD! We always appreciate your kind comments on Auntie Ceciliaโs blogโฃ๏ธ
