Secessio plebis (secession of the plebeians) is similar to a general strike but proved much more effective as the upper classes almost entirely relied upon the working classes.

once again proof that nothing changes, over the thousands of years. it seems to me the upper class now cares nothing at all for those of us in the other category.. all of us depend on the workers who do the stuff we don’t want to do. garbage removal, CNA in nursing homes, come to mind. and here in FL anyone working outside during our summers deserves a metal. yesterdays temps were feels like 100 and yet the roofers and fence builders and plummbers and all the ones who work in the heat kept on working
