The Matrix

The Matrix is a 1999 science fiction action film written and directed by the Wachowskis. It is the first installment in the Matrix film series, starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano, and depicts a dystopian future in which humanity is unknowingly trapped inside the Matrix, a simulated reality that intelligent machines have created to distract humans while using their bodies as an energy source. When computer programmer Thomas Anderson, under the hacker alias “Neo“, uncovers the truth, he joins a rebellion against the machines along with other people who have been freed from the Matrix.

All but a few scenes were filmed at Fox Studios in Sydney, as well as in the city itself, although recognizable landmarks were not included to maintain the impression of a generic American city. The filming helped establish New South Wales as a major film production center. Filming began in March 1998 and wrapped in August 1998; principal photography took 118 days. Some filming also occurred at Culver Studios. Source: Wikipedia

I have not seen this movie but would like to my husband refuses to watch anything that science fiction so thereโ€™s many movies I havenโ€™t seen.

    • Sandee says:

I’m not the biggest science fiction fan, but this one is a must see. Happy day and rest of the week. A hug to you and scritches to handsome Beau. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Matrix is a great movie. The effects and the premise are super creative. Itโ€™s wild to think itโ€™s 25 years old already!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, Sandee. Thank you for hosting!

  3. Suzana says:

I love the whole series. In the last year they are presented again and again. Now I interpret them in a different way, related to our reality. I heard a saying that these old movies, science fiction ones, were vectors for the future. I reevaluate this idea…
Hugs, dear Sandee! Happy WW and a fine week ahead!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜

I saw this movie and two sequels years ago. I loved the first movie. I’ve been a reader of SF since I was 10 years old and this was a good one. Sorry, I somehow entered my blog twice; feel free to delete the second link. Alana ramblinwitham

The first one is always the best. Not to worry about linking up twice. I always go through and make sure there is just one link. It happens all the time. Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. My GBGV Life says:

Mom never saw this movie either. She really isn’t into movies but she says it is always amazing how they make films to take place somewhere but the actual filming was somewhere totally different.

  6. Cecilia Upchurch says:

My oldest son was a Matrix fan. I like Reeves. Point Break was probably my favorite that he was in, but he had some others that were good too. Speed. Lake House. I’m sure there are some I’m not thinking of off the top of my head. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope all is well there. Give the kitties a little pet for me. ๐Ÿ™‚
