Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

Today I’m thankful for books. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but books are such a part of our lives. Hubby and I get together each afternoon and read together. When we’re on our boat we read almost all day long. I can travel the world and not leave my chair.

I’m thankful for a good meal. Hubby and I have altered our diets a great deal in the last couple of years, but we do eat pretty much whatever we want, we just leave out chips, sodas, high fats and the like. It’s amazing that you can have pizza, burgers and pasta and still lose weight. I wish I had figured this out years ago.

What are you thankful for today?

It’s so hard to give up the foods you love. It took me a bit, but I managed to kick them to the curb. 🙂

Mom doesn’t like to read at all, never has, but Gramma loves her books. Now she can’t see much but she listens to her audio books and they make her so happy. For those who enjoy reading it is a wonderful thing.

Audio books were so fun to me when I was working and went from meeting to meeting. Made my journey most enjoyable. 🙂

We both love books: Jeff the techie stuff and history type books, me, fiction of various genres. There’s a comradery in sitting together reading.
Because of gluten intolerance and trying to stay away from a lot of starches, we tend to eat spaghetti squash! (No, it is definitely not the same!!)

I too am thankful for books, they have been a huge part of my life since i could hold a childrens book in my hand. My mother was a reader and so am I, but none of the males were or are readers. Bob would be so much happier if he could read like I do.

My mom didn’t read much, but she only had a 6th grade education. I learned to love books all by myself. I’m so happy about that. 🙂

soda (pop here lol), hasn’t been on my agenda in YEARS (it’s poison to the bladder and kidneys)!! We do eat chips (but just on the weekend), sooo…maybe your theory doesn’t work because we don’t eat a lot of high fat foods and we use low fat meat and whole grains and I’m fatter than hell…..go figure lol

You know how much I love books. They’ve always been a big part of my life. It’s been a struggle for me and my husband to lose weight but I did it once before and I can do it again. It’s encouraging to hear how well you are doing.

If we get rid of the word diet we can succeed. It’s slow going, but I’m doing it. 🙂

I love books but most of my reading is done on my laptop because it’s easier on the eyes. I have invested in blue block glasses, which help a lot. I agree, leaving out chips, sodas, and high fats help in shedding those extra lbs. Happy Thursday, Sandee!

    • Sandee – California – Home of Awww Mondays, Happy Tuesday, and Wordless Wednesday.
      Sandee says:

They sure do help in getting rid of extra pounds. I was amazed. Happy Thursday, Eugenia. 🙂

Mom loves to read too, but she has become addicted to jigsaw puzzles. Once she opens that box, she can’t stop working on the puzzle. Right now she is trying to finish some crochet projects so we haven’t seen any puzzle boxes opened for a couple of weeks now:)

And YOU have made us hungry with all that talk about pizza.
