The lawyer replied, “Remember that lousy real estate I bought? Well, it caught fire, so here I am with the fire insurance proceeds. What are you doing here?”
The doctor replied, “Remember that lousy real estate I had in Mississippi? Well, the river overflowed, and here I am with the flood insurance proceeds.”
The lawyer looked puzzled. “Gee,” he asked, “how did you start the flood?”

I saw that one coming. It's a unrealistic joke because the lawyer is too honest. A good lawyer would have submitted paperwork that showed tat the place caught fire, sold the land to another lawyer who could do the same thing with a different insurance company in a few years.
I'd not thought about that angle, but you're probably spot on here. 🙂

Even though my brother-in-law is a lawyer, I laugh at lawyer jokes the way I laugh at everything else jokes. I don't mean to be mean, but if it's funny, it's funny.
