Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.

All About Sleep

New parents lose around 750 hours of sleep in the first year of their firstborn’s birth. On average, new parents will only get an average of 4-5 hours of sleep a day due to the newborn’s many needs. During the first year of a newborn’s life, new parents will lose about 59% of their resting time to cater to their newborns. Source: Facts.Net

I so remember being so very tired all the time. All I wanted was a good nights sleep. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to Granny. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

I didn’t get much sleep either. I was tried all the time. I remember the first time my son slept all night. It was the first good nights sleep I’d had in months. 🙂

I believe those facts after seeing my niece and hubby with their three. I don’t think they will get a full night until the youngest is in school. Thanks for hosting. Have a nice day. XO

    • Sandee says:

That’s about right. Always something even when they can sleep all night. Puking in the bed at night and then you’re up cleaning them and the mess up. I so remember. 🙂

Parenting is so great a labor of love. I can totally believe these statistics, Bless them. Thanks as always Sandee for the great facts that you share. I enjoy learning new ideas. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Much love and light to you.

    I loved this WW.
Our daughter slept thru the night the first night we were home. I stayed awake waiting
Even put a mirror to her nose once to be sure she was breathing…SHE WAS. After that night the next 6 weeks were sleepless in Raleigh
    Hugs x 4

I hear you. New parents all do the same things. I did these things too. Happy WW and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and Kit and lots of scritches to the kitties. 🙂

Wow, that’s a lot of missed sleep. I don’t have any children, although my furbabies are my children and sometimes cause lack of sleep but not that much. Have a great rest of the week!

  5. Pam Jackson says:

So funny about new parents. You see, I was a heavy sleeper, head hit the pillow and out I went till time to get up. BUT, when I had my first child, something changed and it was not the child keeping me up. Amber was perfect, sleeping right through the night right off. Cory however, I lost the 750 hrs asleep with him, plus the 750 I would have lost with Amber. But, the change was I did not sleep so soundly then. I could hear my baby, in her crib, across the hall in another room, turn over! Then there were those nights all I wanted to do was sit by her bed watching her sleep.

    • Sandee says:

I think all us moms do pretty much the same thing. We can hear our babies when they turn over or make any sound. It’s the way of moms. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥

Sandee, that is one experience that neither MaryEllen(she divorced me after 5 years of trying to have children) or Celestine (She did not want to have children because og her Type 1 diabetes she would have spent a lot of time hospitalized due the pregnancy ) and I experienced. Children was not in God’s plans for me.

    • Sandee says:

It’s the way of things, Mike. You weren’t supposed to have children and some have children and shouldn’t have them. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. Scritches to Screwball. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

I think the babies will still keep coming. It’s that need to procreate for many. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to the precious pups. 🙂

  7. Tails Around the Ranch says:

I was pretty young when I had my kids and therefore I have no memory of the lost sleep days. I do remember as a mom you never stop worrying about them even when they’re parents themselves now. Thanks for sharing the facts, Sandee. Very interesting!

    • Sandee says:

I vividly remember being sleep deprived for many, many months. I wish I couldn’t remember that. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

I remember it very well too. It was worth it indeed. You’re welcome for the linkup party. Thank you for all you do too, my friend. Love and hugs. 🙂

  8. Lydia C. Lee says:

I remember clearly waking up the first time the baby sleeps thru, and then I go into a panic thinking ‘what if they died?’ and had to jump out of bed to check why they didn’t wake me up! Ha.

  9. messymimi's meanderings says:

And then they become teens and keep you up all night because their body clocks are off and they want to sleep all day. Oh, well, maybe that’s what retirement is for, to sleep. Except you can’t sleep when you get old either.

Hey, who said sleep is important?

Joking, of course, but not joking when I say I pray you and Mr. Zane have a beautiful week and get plenty of good rest. Scritches to Lil’ Bit and Squeaker.
