Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.

Teaching at Oxford in England started as early as 1096. The Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán was founded around 1325, and the Aztec Empire (the Triple Alliance) was formally established later in 1428. Oxford was already operating as a hub for scholars and learning for over 200 years before the Aztec civilization built its great capital. Source: Smithsonian Magazine

  1. WOW, I did not know that Oxford has such an old history.
I understand now why it looks somehow scary but impressive…
Happy twice WW, dear Sandee! I’ll skip the next game.
Hugs and joy, my friend! All the best!❤️😘

Interesting! I didn’t realize Oxford was that old. Beautiful architecture!

Thanks for hosting the WW link party, Sandee. Have a great day! 🌹

    • I didn’t either. I was very surprised. Thanks for playing along, Debbie. Hugs. 🙂

    • I had no idea how old this institution is. I was surprised. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂

    • We like it too. You made me laugh out loud with your Auntie comment. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to your Granny. 🙂

    • I’ll bet we could find that out. Happy day and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. 🙂

  3. It is always amazing how old things are over in that part of the world. Old for us is like brand new in comparison.

    • You’re so right. Happy day and rest of the week. Scritches to the precious pups. 🙂

Interesting tidbit, Sandee. Such impressive architecture. Happy Wednesday! Hugs.

    • I agree with you. I found this most interesting. Love and hugs, my friend. 🙂

  5. Somehow, I just don’t think I would be comfortable in that learning environment. I love the architecture but the somber mood of the building would not appeal to my soul.

    • It’s different for sure. I’m glad I already have my degree. Happy day and rest of the week, my friend. 🙂

Wow I never thought of that. I see the ruins and that’s old. But never in relation too other things and areas. Good job Sandee. 🤣😎🙃

    • Thank you, my friend. I love to find tidbits of history that surprises us. 🙂

  7. That’s impressive!
I follow a few authors who write books that are centered at Oxford; maybe I’ll visit the place some day.

    • A wonderful place to explore. Fabulous history. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂

I love Oxford’s long history. Whenever I see a photo of it, I can’t help but think of a British murder mystery. 😊

    • You and many others thing the same thing. Happy day and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. 🙂

  9. Oxford is such an amazing place! I visited a couple of times, but in the era before smartphones. I wish I had digital photos (or could even find my old film photos) to identify some of the buildings and places I remember from there.

    • You’re so well traveled. A place I would love to visit. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂

    • I had no idea how old Oxford is. Surprising. Happy day and rest of the week, Yvonne. 🙂

  10. This is an excellent Wordless Wednesday, Sandee. I love history, and learning something new that I did not know.

    • I’m so happy you’re playing along. You made me smile. Love you, Jody. 🙂

  11. Oh, wow! That is an amazing fact, Sandee. Oxford’s deep history is tremendous. I did not know this university predated the Aztec capital.
Thank you for this eye-opener into history, Sandee.

    Happy Wordless Wednesday!
    Peace and hugs to you.

    • I didn’t either. Amazing. Happy day and rest of the week, my friend. Love and hugs. 🙂

That is such an interesting fact. I had no idea. I feel as if I have been there, as we watch so many series on the BBC. Thanks for linking us up. Glad you liked our photo today. 15. I knew Oxford was old, but not quite how old. The Aztecs were amazing in their own ways, too.

You and Mr. Zane have a blessed week, and give your fuzzy overlords some love from me, please.

it’s always on the british blogs that I watch. They seem to be the elite smart or anyway in the blogs anyway. Interesting info. Thanks for sharing and the link up. 🙂
Happy Tuesday on Friday. I’m late to the party.

  17. Wing Commander Basil & The B Team – UK – Well, now there's a question! Furstly and most importantly I'm a cat if mew hadn't already guessed. I got my Wing Commander status in September 2018 but that hasn't slowed me up at all! I tweet, Instacat, FB, Tumble & Pin too and now there's Basil TV on YouTube. All in all I'm a thoroughly Modern Cat; a cat of the 21st century, mew might say. My human & Purrsonal Assistant aka P.A. is Cathrine Garnell, and she writes books including a tale about my fictional alter ego, Basil the Bionic Cat. [See Books Page] I live in a multi-cat household, and mew can meet the rest of The B Team here most days of the week, as they all like a turn on the blog. I like mice, but then don't we all? I also like fresh tuna, chicken and prawns. I LOVE catnip, not in any excess I might add before mew jump to any wild conclusions. Thanks so much for dropping by, as we The B Team, love making new furriends, so do leave us a comment and say hi.
Wing Commander Basil & The B Team

Oxford is such an incredible place, and the history… yeah!!! MOL We hope mew are having an epic Sunday, and thank mew so much for adding our links this week; mew are furbulous!!! 😻🐾😻🐾😻

    • We’re having a wonderful day. Hope you are too. Love to you and scritches to the kitties. 🙂
