Hindu Festival of Holi
Holi is a sacred ancient tradition of Hindus, a holiday in many states of India with regional holidays in other countries. It is a cultural celebration that gives Hindus and non-Hindus alike an opportunity to have fun and play with other people by throwing coloured water and powder at each other. It is also observed broadly on the Indian subcontinent. Holi is celebrated at the end of winter, on the last full moon day of the Hindu luni-solar calendar month, marking the spring, making the date vary with the lunar cycle. Source: Wikipedia

It’s a most wonderful holiday. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
A beautiful holiday tradition celebrating the eternal and divine love of the deities Radha and Krishna. I especially like this one and hope we can learn to embrace something that is good. The day also signifies the triumph of good over evil.
Beautiful all around. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. Love and hugs. 🙂
What a beautiful way to celebrate!
Amen to that. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
Known as Phagwa on the island where I grew up in the Caribbean, holi is a beautiful festival full of color and an auspicious way I feel to welcome the colors of spring gardening and revivial from the winter months (now that I live in North America). Great share Sandee.
Happy Wordless Wednesday. Cheers.
It sure is. I would love to be part of this celebration. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. Love and hugs. 🙂
Thank you Sandee. Happy first week of April. Much love to you!
One of my husband’s cousins used to live in a town in New Jersey that had become mainly Indian by the time they moved down South. They had made a number of Indian friends and even participated in some celebrations with them. So, yes, I had heard of Holi before and yes, it can be a lot of fun. Alana ramblinwitham
I would love to be part of this celebration. I didn’t know about this until I found it a couple of week ago. 🙂
Thanks, Sandee, for the party. Happy Hump Day. I have seen this before, but interesting to read about it.

It looks very colourful and lots of fun. No post today, the PC is acting up and very slow. I couldn’t get my photo for my post to load last night. It is still very slow but just about useable.
A wonderful holiday to enjoy and celebrate. Happy WW and rest of the week. Sorry your computer is so slow. Love and hugs, Jackie. 🙂
That would be nice to see, though I’d want to a bit away from the range of the color cloud.
I would love to see this. Happy Wednesday, my friend. 🙂
It’s called a festival of color for a reason. I pray you and Mr. Zane have a blessed and beautiful rest of the week. Please give Lil’ Bit and Squeaker some pets from me.
It sure is. It’s most beautiful. You and Mr. Sweetie, have a blessed rest of the week. Love and hugs. 🙂
Too pagan roots for me to root for Holi.😔 The celebrants do not realize who they are praising. Not their fault, but they are deceived.
There are many paths. This is theirs. 🙂
Not many paths according to Jesus. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” John 14:6
Holi is such a fun and colorful celebration! Love how it brings people together in a burst of joy.
Happy Thursday, Sandee1
It sure is. It’s beautiful. Happy Thursday, Veronica. 🙂
What a delightful celebration!
I agree with you. I would love to participate. Happy rest of the week. 🙂
What a great Holi Shot! There are so many wonderful Spring festivals! I worked for an international firm (over 60 different countries) and we loved all the special days and practices there are this time of year! One year we did Holi and threw colored water and poders at each other on the top level of the parking lot! What a glorious event! Keep being awesome! Thanks for being Awesome! Marvelous Marv and Mom Barb
I would love to participate in this festival. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marvelous Marv and a big hug to you. 🙂
Nice! Hugs and well wishes, my dear.
I thought it was a great holiday. Many blessings. 🙂
Here to wish you a fabulous Sunday! I have not seen this holiday mentioned anywhere before. I wonder if it’s what we used to draw inspiration for our ‘color runs’ in the USA?
I wish you the same and a fabulous week too. I don’t know if that was the inspiration or not. Could be. 🙂
What an epically fun tradition! Thank mew for adding our links last week, we are supurr grateful and eternally thankful to mew! Happy Sunday and we wish mew a furbulously bessed week!
It’s my pleasure to make sure you’re linked. I love it when you’re part of my hops. 🙂
