Dolly Parton once entered a celebrity look-alike contest as herself – and lost. The contest was held in a San Francisco club. In order to somewhat disguise herself, Parton exaggerated her features with makeup. However, she got the least applause of all contestants, and ultimately lost to a drag queen. Source: Facts.net

I recently read an interview she gave about Dolly’s husband Carl Dean being absent from her career. She said they shared so many things in their 60 marriage one being a quirky sense of humor. I know Dolly probably thoroughly got a charge out of not winning her own look a like contest.

I remember when she did that,one of my local (Over the Air) TV channels had a field day with that one. and I think I did a post on facebook about it.

Dolly is still the reigning queen of country music. I think her album “Trio”, a collaboration with Linda Ronstadt and Emmy Lou Harris is still some of her best work. Just entering that contest tells you something about her sense of humor.
