Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.

German Chocolate Cake

German chocolate cake was invented in Texas. The “German” part of German chocolate cake comes from an American man—not a European country. Specifically, it’s named after Sam German, who in 1852 created the formula for a mild dark baking chocolate bar for Baker’s Chocolate Company, which was subsequently named Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate. Fast-forward to June 13, 1957. The Dallas Morning Star published the recipe for the cake, invented and submitted by a reader identified as Mrs. George Clay, according to What’s Cooking America.

    Yummmy chocolate is my weakness
We awoke to 2″ of snow it was dry and fluffy so we were able to sweep it off no shovel required.
It is gonna be only mid 20’s today so we didn’t want it to freeze. OMDs my daughter and son in law and kitties live on the coast of NC . Snow there is RARE…they had 5.5″ over night. Hardly any snow removal equipment there so they are working from home
    Hugs Cecilia

  19. Wing Commander Basil & The B Team – UK – Well, now there's a question! Furstly and most importantly I'm a cat if mew hadn't already guessed. I got my Wing Commander status in September 2018 but that hasn't slowed me up at all! I tweet, Instacat, FB, Tumble & Pin too and now there's Basil TV on YouTube. All in all I'm a thoroughly Modern Cat; a cat of the 21st century, mew might say. My human & Purrsonal Assistant aka P.A. is Cathrine Garnell, and she writes books including a tale about my fictional alter ego, Basil the Bionic Cat. [See Books Page] I live in a multi-cat household, and mew can meet the rest of The B Team here most days of the week, as they all like a turn on the blog. I like mice, but then don't we all? I also like fresh tuna, chicken and prawns. I LOVE catnip, not in any excess I might add before mew jump to any wild conclusions. Thanks so much for dropping by, as we The B Team, love making new furriends, so do leave us a comment and say hi.

German chocolate cake was my late FIL’s favorite. Every time I see a recipe or a box mix I think of him. Personally, I prefer a more intense chocolate cake which is difficult to come by unless you make it. Lately, I’ve made two batches of classic crinkle cookies which is an excellent substitute. The fudgey chocolate goodness hits the spot right on!
