Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week.

Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

A foursome of senior golfers hit the course with waning enthusiasm for the sport. “These fairways seem to be getting longer and longer,” said one of the foursome.

“And these hills are getting steeper as the years go by,” another complained.

“The sand traps seem to be bigger than I remember them, too,” said the third senior.

After hearing enough from his buddies, the oldest, and the wisest of the four of them at 87 years old, piped up and said, “Oh my friends, just be thankful we’re still on this side of the grass!”

I’m thankful that I still have a sense of humor about getting old.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful that as I’m getting older I still have most of my health, knock on wood.

  2. Sandee,

The 4th senior is very wise and so right. We need to remember this instead of complaining about why we can’t do the same things that we once did and enjoy where we are now in life.

Being thankful for you’ve got is a sign of a good heart. 😉

    Happy TT!

    • Yes he is. He’s a wise one indeed. I want to see the positive in life and not dwell on the negative. 🙂

  3. Well they say getting old isn’t for sissies and the older I get the more I realize how true that is…lol A sense of humor is essential and I’m thankful I have one.

    • Yes the older I get I realize the same thing. I have a wonderful sense of humor and I plan on keeping it. 🙂

  4. One can get caught up in all the negativity in the world. The news media always finds the bad, are rarely posts uplifting stories. It’s always good to be thankful and focus on the good in your life.

    • Now you know why I don’t have television. Too much negative. I prefer to look at all the positive things. 🙂

    • Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. 🙂

    • Yes and I plan on living it to its fullest. Happy day, Paul. 🙂

Much love to you! And I’m thankful for your blog (seriously!) that makes me smile every time I visit!

    • If we focus on the positive we’re going in the right direction. 🙂

  13. Good afternoon, Sandee!
I’m happy it has been nice and warm here. It’s been in the 80s and will be up to 90 or so next week!
Here’s a joke or funny I read the other day:
Why do golfers wear two pairs of pants?
Because they know they will get a hole in one. 🙂

    • We are having a nice warm day here too. I’m wearing a short sleeve shirt today. It’s wonderful day.

      Love the joke. 🙂
