Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

Today we’re thankful that our flooring is all in. We don’t have the baseboards yet, but all the flooring is down. There is dust everywhere, but we tackle it each day. I’m guessing it’s going to be a while before we get all the dust up. We love the flooring.

We’re hoping that in a week or so we’ll have the kitchen countertops in and all the appliances back where they belong. It will be wonderful to be able to cook, bake and have a sink with running water. Most of all we will be able to use our washer and dryer again. Laundromats are okay, but doing laundry at home is a huge thing to be thankful for.

What are you thankful for today?

Those floors are beautiful. I would love to rip out the rest of the carpet in my house and put in hard wood floors.
I always hated going to a laundromat. Way back when I was first married to my ex I had to use one and it wasn’t a very clean one. I was a very happy camper when we finally got a washer and dryer.

We went to the laundromat today and got all our laundry done. It’s not so bad. We bring a book and read in between washing and drying. We should have the washer and dryer back in by next Friday. Happy days. 🙂

Those floors look marvelous. Dad says even reading this makes him exhausted. He remembers going through processes like this over the years and doesn’t think he’ll ever want to do it again. Good luck with the rest of the project!

We haven’t had to difficult of time. We think it’s because we boat and that’s a way different learning curve. We just reverted to what we do on our boat. Worked perfectly. 🙂

Your new floors are so rich looking. So much better than carpet that holds in all the allergens, not to mention pet accidents. Can’t wait to see your new countertops.

Ahem…looks down at my feet…it doesn’t matter if there is a kitchen or not…I don’t cook, I just make tea and maybe a sandwich.
The Hubby rules the kitchen, which is decorated like a 1940’s up-north cabin, with knotty pine, and tiny counters.
The idea of a smart new kitchen is intoxicating, however, and I truly hope yours is everything that you’ve hoped for!

    • Sandee – California – Home of Awww Mondays, Happy Tuesday, and Wordless Wednesday.
      Sandee says:

It will be. We have a pretty good sized kitchen. Hubby and I often cook together. 🙂

Sandee what gorgeous floors the stain is so warm and inviting.
Oh boy do I know what you are going thru. 2006 we had our 23 year old kitchen ripped out to the studs. I had the old microwave on the kitchen table. They left the old fridge plugged in near the dining room table. At least we could have breakfast at home but that was about it. Actually now that I think about it the demo started Early Sept that year and was over early Oct. Angel Madi stayed with my parents during that month long process too. Otherwise I’m sure she would have been in the walls for a walkabout
I know you are excited. Hugs cecilia

That looks fantastic! I’ve always wanted wooden or laminate flooring in our home but we’re still thinking of moving so there’s no point replacing it just in case. It looks gorgeous and I bet it’ll be well worth the time and effort when everything’s back in place, the sink and washer and dryer are all ready to use again… I hope everything goes smoothly! xx

I love all the work you have done! I have not done a thing on my renos in the kitchen in the last month. I did get a great deal on the vinyl plank I wanted at $1500 less than I was expecting, so I bought it and it is sitting in the garage waiting for Alex and I to get started on that. Marv has been super clingy the last couple of days. Every time I sit down and pick up my laptop, he is demanding that he have that space and I pet him! He sends Head bonks and whisker kisses!
