Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful for I didn’t have that lazy three day weekend that I said I was going to have in last weeks Friendly Fill-Ins. Hubby and I did two days of spring cleaning in our kitchen, great room, dining room and living room. I’m talking about deep cleaning that we’ve not done in a very long time. It was a great feeling when we were done. Everything shines.

I’m thankful that I have such a wonderful husband. We used to work together many moons ago and we were shoulder to shoulder then and we still are now. I’m a lucky gal.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Deep cleaning is hard work but the rewards are awesome. I always love sitting in a room that I have cleaned thoroughly. How wonderful that you had your husband to help too. Not all guys will do that. You’ve got a keeper.

    • Yes and it’s a wonderful feeling when you get a room done. Pawkisses back. 🙂

  2. Cleaning would be better with a buddy. Mom isn’t a fan of cleaning, but it has to be done and she is always happy when she finishes a cleaning project.

    • I’m not a fan either, but when I get started there’s no stopping me. 🙂

  3. I’m in the middle of some deep cleaning myself and I am so thankful for the AC while it’s happening. 🙂 I’m very happy you have your hubs, best friend, and partner all rolled into one. I think you’re both lucky. Love you, Sandee. <3

    • Yes I had the air conditioner on too. We’re in a heatwave down here. Love you, Karen. 🙂

  4. Once in a great while I get on a binge and deep clean a room. I know it’s such a good feeling when it’s done! I don’t have help though, since my boys grew up and I no longer have slave labor!

        • It stays. I knew what you meant, because we do that to our kids. They remind us of it often too. 🙂

    • I would be thankful for that too. Any help is always appreciated. 🙂

    • Exactly. I agree with your assessment. You and Mr. Sweetie have a fabulous day too. 🙂

Deep cleaning is hard work but worth it when finished. Doing household chores together makes it easier, IMO. My hubby and I share in the chores. Happy Thursday!

    • It was hard work and at our ages it’s even harder. Sharing chores is the way to go. Happy Thursday. 🙂

    • Well we did the downstairs, but now there is the upstairs to do. 🙂

You’re always welcome to feel good about cleaning…at my house. 🤣 Good for you! I’ve been thinking of doing that. Just thinking about it so far…nothing else. LOL

    • We did a lot of thinking too, but decided to just dive in. We’re happy we did. Scritches to the pups and a smooch to Norman. 🙂

  9. I was eagerly typing blog comments at 9 am when our power went out.
A 18 wheeler Pepsi truck tried to turn on to a small curvy road near the house. As he turned, the top of the truck caught on cable taking down a power pole.
Thankful(ly) our power was only out for 2 1/2 hours. Internet just came back on still waiting for Spectrum Cable TV.

    • Well he’ll be looking for a new job won’t he. Sorry you had this kind of issue this morning. Hugs. 🙂

    • Well I usually do too, but not this time. It was a very good thing. 🙂

  10. Every day, I say to myself, “Self, you should get out the vacuum!”
And then something or other distracts me…
    I’ll get to it someday…

  12. Mom has been doing some bigtime cleaning here too, but she doles it out if little time periods. She isn’t up for the big three day cram. She says it really does give a great feeling when you get something like that accomplished.

Hope this weekend is that lazy fun one you were hoping for.

Wow! Kudos to you and to your hubby too… How sweet that you have a wonderful relationship! I’m thankful for my hubby too–like yours, he’s a gem!

    • We’ve known each other for 50 years. We’ve worked together when we worked. Now we are retired together. It’s a good thing. We both have gems. 🙂

    • Our weekends are seven days. Always seven days. Being retired is a good thing. 🙂

  15. It was a good weekend here for deep cleaning, with rain and much cooler temperatures. However, it didn’t happen at our house! LOL. If only we could train Luke to do the cleaning…he’s the one with the most free time. LOL (he sends smooches, by the way).

    • Luke supervises. That’s his role and he knows it. Smooches to Luke and have a great weekend. 🙂
