    • I thought they looked a lot alike. I’m glad I was right about that. Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ann. 🙂

    • We will enjoy the meatloaf. We’re country folk, so meatloaf was something we ate as kids. 🙂

  1. Michelle – Hi, I am Michelle, I am married to a wonderful Christian man & my best friend ever, in the world. We live in the Peachy state of GA. I hope to inspire and encourage you through my blog posts.
    Michelle

We also like meatloaf, but I’m thinking we’ll have pancakes for our main meal. ((Hugs))

    • We all have our favorite foods. We changed ours up a bit this year and this is the first time we’ve done a big dinner for New Years day. 🙂

    • I’ll get that little one a horn to toot. You have a fabulous day and weekend too, Marg. 🙂

  2. We are not big on New Years. Mom will go to bed early as always, no parties or anything around here. Enjoy your meatloaf!

    • No parties here either. We’ll go to bed our usual time. It’s all good. We’ll enjoy the meatloaf. 🙂

  3. Memories of Eric and Flynn – I started this blog to show my holiday photos but haven't added to it for so long, but you can see my other holiday photos at https://allatseawithme.blogspot.com My main blog is my cat blog at https://twodevoncats.blogspot.com

Such a cute kitty! On New Year’s Eve we alternate between friends having a celebration with champagne and a buffet meal. This year it is our turn to host it. New Year’s Day we always have leg of lamb.

    • It’s good to have your traditions. It’s also fun. Enjoy hosting your New Years Eve event. 🙂

    • It’s awfully cold here and meatloaf is comfort food to us. So are the potatoes and gravy. 🙂

  4. foguth – Though Jeanne began her career technical writing, her love of romantic-suspense, whether it be present, future or in an unknown galaxy inspired her to write the novels she wanted to find in bookstores. Since marrying, Jeanne and her husband have lived from the arctic to the tropics, as well as from yacht to off-grid mountain home. She loves using vivid colors and flowing shapes in her oil paintings as well as creating edible landscapes. At present, she is finishing writing the Chatterre Trilogy and working on a new episode for The Sea Purrtector Files. You can always find out what she is working on and/or contact her at: www.jeannefoguth.com.

I’ve never seen a kitty that was better prepared to greet the new year 😉

  5. Such a sweet cute kitty looking forward to the New Year! Usually it will be a quiet eve, nothing special. We may not be able to sleep early because of the noise of the fireworks.

    • We have a pretty quiet neighborhood. Some save some 4th of July fireworks, but tend to sleep through that noise. 🙂

  6. Sandee,

Kindess is a good guide word for 2019. I hope you and your hubby have a lovely time saying goodbye to the old and hello to the new year. Thank you for being such a sweet and wonderful friend this year. I shall look forward to our continue friendship’s growth in the coming new year! God bless! XO

    • Yes, we always welcome the new year. I too am looking forward to our continued friendship. I just love you and Marie. God Bless you and yours. 🙂

  7. That is an adorable kitten. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. I like your guide word, that is one we should all use. And I agree with #4, new beginnings are part of life. I hope you enjoy your meatloaf dinner, it sounds good. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019! XO

    • I so enjoy your Friendly Fill-ins. I know we’ll enjoy our meatloaf. This recipe has a Mexican flair and hubby and I love that spicy touch. I wish you and your a happy and healthy 2019. 🙂

    • You’re most welcome, Darla. Have a great day and weekend, my friend. 🙂

    • Thanks for the link. I think anything that will cut down on cavities is a good thing.

Be here at 2pm on New Years day. Don’t bring anything as there is plenty to go around. 🙂

    • I’m going to work very hard making kindness my word for 2019. Happy Friday to you too, Eugenia. 🙂

Such a green-eyed beauty! Happy last Friday of the year.

    • I’ll let you know in my Thankful Thursday post if I can remember. Happy weekend. 🙂

    • It warmed my heart too. It’s not every day you see a new years kitty. We are loving our plans for new years day too. 🙂

    • Both hubby and I are country kind of folks. We were raised on meatloaf and fried chicken. Lots of potatoes and gravy. Scritches to Lexi, Angel and Isabella. My best to you and J. 🙂

  9. Service Cats U.S. – I Audra, am the human behind Service Cats U.S. aka DezizWorld. I am disabled and use cats as service animals instead of dogs. They are just as capable and can perform duties other animals cannot. We started our online journey to bring awareness to the ability of cats and to help others understand the relationship between a service animal and their handler/person. We offer training tips and tricks that I have learned through the years along with other information on all things feline. We began this journey in 2014 with Lexi and Dezi. They have since gone on to heaven, but our journey continues. This blog is about our daily life from the kitty's point of view. I want this blog to be interactive and get to know all of you, so comment and visit often. I will also offer advice, training tips and education when possible. I think kitty is waiting patiently for New Year to cause a little mischief!
Kindness should definitely be the word for 2019.
    Have a lovely weekend 🙂
    Caz xx

    • Kitties and mischief just go together. You have a lovely weekend too, Caz. 🙂

    • We don’t really celebrate anymore. We just do a good dinner and that’s it. Never go out either. Staying home works for us. 🙂

    • I love kitties and pups. I’d have a houseful if I could. Happy New Year to you both. 🙂

I agree with you about “kindness” and love your reasoning about new beginnings. New Years Eve will find my husband, myself and my oldest step daughter babysitting for my granddaughter so that her parents can have a MUCH DESERVED night out! Their first night out alone since Harper was born! xoxoxo

    • I would do the same thing so the kids can have a night out. Good for you. Of course you both can dote over Harper whiles they are having their night out. 🙂

    • Yes kindness is going to be front and center for me from now on. Happy almost 2019. Scritches to the pups. 🙂

  12. Crystal – Pennsylvania – I love cats and I am a animal lover. I like most sports. For example: Nascar, Golf and etc.... I like meeting new people and making new friends. Great answers and photo feline Friday and Friendly Fill – Ins. Link is in.

    • Thanks for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop, Crystal and Daisy Mae. I’ve missed you. 🙂

  13. Don’t forget the collard greens on New Year’s Day. We must have collards (or any other kind of green like spinach, turnip, mustard greens, cabbage, etc.) black eyed peas, cornbread, and ham on New Year’s Day to make it a successful New Year.
Have a blessed and safe New Year.

    • We’ve never done this for a successful new year. I guess being born and raised in Oregon it wasn’t part of the culture. I love all those things though. You have a blessed and safe New Year too. 🙂

  14. Suzanne Gunter McClendon – I am a South Carolina native, but have been living on the Texas Gulf Coast for 17 years now. David and I have been married for almost 38 years. Suzanne Gunter McClendon

Oooh I love fluffy white kitties. So beautiful. 🙂

Meatloaf is great. We haven’t had it in ages.

May the fun continue and even more fun find its way to you.

Have a blessed weekend and a very happy New Year!

    • We do enjoy our lives. It’s a good thing. We’re growing old together and it’s a precious thing. You both have a blessed weekend and a very happy New Year. 🙂

That is wonderful and I agree. It IS a most precious thing. We, too, are blessed to be growing old together. 🙂

Have a blessed day and a very happy New Year! 🙂

    • We’ve had a lovely weekend. We visited friends last night and had some snacks together and then went out to dinner. It was most enjoyable. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂

  15. 1 – On New Year’s Eve, I plan to stay up until midnight.
2 – A goal that I have for 2019 is to determine if I want to stay at my job which I love, or try to move on to one that pays better, because I love to travel and my salary does not permit much of that…
3 – If I had to choose a guide word for 2019, it would be stability. We became stable again in 2017 /18 and I would like that to continue. It is not something I will ever again take for granted.
4 – New beginnings can be the best gifts of all.
    Happy New Year to you!

    • Thanks for answering the questions again. I always enjoy you weighing in. I hear you about a better paying job. If you can’t do what you want to do then you have to consider a move.

      Have a fabulous day. 🙂

Kindness is so important. We sometimes think there are humans who are kinder to felines and other four-legged creatures than they are to other humans. We wish you joy, happiness and much kindness in 2019.
    Purrs & Head Bonks,
The Tribe of Five and The Female Human

    • Kindness is my word for 2019. I’m going to think of this word every time something starts getting to me. Being more kind is a good thing. 🙂

  18. That silver white kitten reminds me of my sweet pals, Truffle and Brûlée. They have the same color of furrs and eyes. Purr purr purr.

  19. Aw, that New Year kitty is too cute! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! You are so right about new beginnings. They can sound like scary things, but we can’t avoid them and should instead, like you said, embrace them. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019!
