Am told that fawns are so well colored that they blend into their surroundings when waiting for their mom to come back.

Oh my goodness- what a sweet little deer! I remember the days when we lived on top of a hill with 10 acres near Mt Shasta and the mother deer would bring their babies to our house and we would feed them baby carrots. We also had a salt lick far away from our house so all animals could use it and not be afraid of us getting too close.
I’m so glad we got to visit your beautiful home near Mount Shasta. I know you have far less work to do now and that’s a good thing. 🙂

Our second lot in Michigan had woods on it so we were fortunate to see the babies sleeping with their mamas. The doe always stayed awake while their little fawns were snoozing. Keeping guard, I suppose, though I’ve heard they will leave them unattended for hours at a time, I never saw a baby on its own. They’re sure cute.
I grew up on a farm and had similar experiences. So precious. Happy week, my friend. 🙂
