Scandinavia – While the aurora borealis might be the reason most people put Scandinavia at the top of their list of places to visit, it shouldn’t be. There’s much more to Scandinavia than a multi-colored glow in the sky. Scandinavia encompasses several different countries and although they’re often grouped together, they are all uniquely special.
What they do all have in common is wonderful, cultured people who will welcome you to their country with real heart. Fascinating cultures full of myth, mystery and legendary gods some of which you’ll be familiar with and others you may never have heard of. And the real reason you should be going there – the absolutely, breathtaking dramatic landscapes and natural wonders the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Such a breathtaking view! Have a happy Wednesday!
It is indeed, Nancy. Happy Wednesday to you too and thanks for joining in on the fun. 🙂
That is a beautiful photo. I have visited the Scandinavian countries several times and the scenery from the fjords to the mountains and all in between are indeed beautiful.
I’ve seen many pictures, but never been there. I would love to see all this in person. 🙂
Oh I’m wordless and breathless all at once!
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah xx
You’re a princess. You can be anything you want. Love and licky kisses back. 🙂
Wow, what a view. If I was taking that drive though someone else would need to be behind the wheel. That would make me nervous being on a bridge that long.
I’d rather someone else drove too. I would want to be gawking at everything. 🙂
Stunning picture x
Yes indeed, Queenie. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
Sandee,
Beautiful scenic expansion but I’d get a bit weird out traveling that bridge. 🙂 Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful Wednesday!
Hubby wouldn’t be on this bridge at all. He’d be beside himself. I’d be all over it. You’re welcome on the hosting. Thanks for linking up. 🙂
Such a pretty photo! It looks like that bridge goes on forever!
It sure does look like it goes on forever. It’s the longest bridge I’ve ever seen. 🙂
That is stunning, such a pretty place!
I’ve friends that have traveled though there and they loved every minute. 🙂
Wow! I agree that is absolutely stunning but not for walking 🙂
Have a scenictastic WWS ➡
No, not for walking. You’d get your 10,000 steps in very quickly and someone would have to pick you up to get to the other side. 🙂
Wow is that beautiful! I am glad you included a little explanation because I was stumped at first about where that was. Now I want to visit.
Heading out on a little vacation (yay) I will check back in next week. Take care!
I love to break the rules and I hate being wordless. Have fun on your vacation. See you next week. 🙂
This underscores the reason why Scandinavia is near the top of my bucket list… I began getting interested in the area a few years ago, when I discovered https://photofinland.wordpress.com blog. Kristina and her tuxie, Kosmo live in Finland and their country is beautiful!
Yes this entire area is beautiful. I would love to visit and explore. 🙂
What an amazing photo. I imagine that driving on that road/bridge, right above the surface of the water, would afford quite the view! I’d love to visit Scandinavia some day. 🙂
Thank you, as always, for hosting, Sandee! Happy Wednesday!
I would be all over that bridge. What a view indeed. You’re most welcome on the hosting. I love all things memes. Happy Wednesday. 🙂
I love going on bridges both long and short, high & low but I would wonder, What would happen if sometime on this bridge if you ran out of gas. LOL See ya Sandee.
Cruisin Paul
Oh no, I hadn’t thought about running out of gas. That would be bad. Have a great day, Paul. 🙂
There was a time when Scandinavia was on our bucket list. We hosted an exchange student from Switzerland when our daughter was in high school. It was a great experience but our student rarely wrote her parents while she was here and she never wrote us once she returned home. Yes, this was in the dark ages before the internet, smart phones and social media. Oh well, we have our memories. Have a blessed day.
What a shame they never even wrote you a thank you note. Good grief. I’m so sorry about that. You have a blessed day too, my friend. 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful place to vacation. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day! 🙂 XO
It sure does. I would love to explore for several week. You’re welcome on the hosting. Happy Wednesday, Ellen. 🙂
So many amazing places to see in the big world. Denmark is on our long bucket list.
Thanks for hosting!
You’re welcome on the hosting. Yes there are many wonderful places to visit around the world. 🙂
The proverbial “bridge to nowhere”.
Perhaps, but I think it goes to many magical places. 🙂
What a beautiful bridge. Thanks for sharing it. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Thank you, Patrick. Thanks for joining the fun. 🙂
Stunning photo. Wow, the bridge is awesome! Happy Wednesday!
I’m sure it took quite some time to build this bridge. It’s a long one. Happy Wednesday to you too, Eugenia. 🙂
Driving along that bridge would be a mindblowing experience! I’d love to do that. Way back in 1967 (we lived in Germany then), my parents and I did a road trip to Copenhagen, Denmark, taking the ferry from Germany. It was nothing like this, though!
I would too, but hubby wouldn’t go with me. He hates anything high. 🙂
Such a beautiful photo…we especially like seeing the sunshine(it’s raining here today)!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey and Arty
It’s all cloudy here today too. No rain yet, but it will probably rain at some point. I’m so ready for spring. 🙂
Our former neighbours were Finnish and Danish. I hope to visit them someday! They shared so many great things about their countries.
Good Day, Sandee!
Oh when you do let us know. How fun. Good day to you too, Veronica. 🙂
I’m ready to go! I have friends in Finland to visit, and a side trip to Russia would be fun too!
Let’s go together. We’d have a great time. 🙂
That sounds like a very interesting, and beautiful, place to visit! Though long bridges like that kind of freak me out. LOL
I would love to see all of this. Exploring is most fun. 🙂
You see, that’s all President Trump wants is to distant the immigrants that want to come to our country correctly then the people who just want to walk in. Why is it so difficult. Now if we had a wall or bridge like this all our problems would be solved. Oh wait, that would mean moving the earth wouldn’t? Well, that’s what it seems like now. We’d have to move the earth then the get a wall. 🙁 Our poor President he’s got it comin’ and goin’! Now Russia wants to send missiles if we wend any to Europe or something like that. Did you get that message when you put your computer on this morning??? brrrrrrrrr Gives me the willies! I NEED A HUG!!!!! 🙁 Love you girlfriend to the moon & back!
No I didn’t get that message, but I don’t listen to the media. They have their agenda and it’s to destroy this president. It’s very sad. Love you back honey. 😉
Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Thank you, Cathy. Happy Wordless Wednesday to you too. 🙂
Oooops, thank you for signin’ me in! You’re a peach! BIG ol’ hugs sending your way! 🙂
You’re most welcome, Marie. Big hugs back. 🙂
I used to love bridges but not anymore, not sure why but they make me a bit uneasy. It’s still a very beautiful show.
Have a great Wednesday Sandee
xoxo
Mary
I’ve not developed that phobia yet, but hubby has. We don’t do high things at all anymore. You have a great Wednesday too, Mary. xoxo 🙂
Wow this photo makes me want to use all the descriptive words I know.
Gorgeous…..
Hugs Cecilia
I agree, Cecilia. It would be a wonderful adventure. Hugs back. 🙂
Oh, my! That’s gorgeous. Take care, my dear.
I thought so too and I’d love to be on that highway with hubby. Take care too, Darla. 🙂
Mom laughs when she sees this bridge. Her mother was terrified of water. One time the family took her with them to Newport, R.I., and they had to cross this very high long bridge. She told our Dad that he HAD to find a way home that did not bring her over that bridge:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I can understand that. My husband is the same. He does not like anything high. Scritches to all the pups and thanks for linking your babies up to Wordless Wednesday. 🙂
Wow, so beautiful. Love how the sunlight highlights the water.
It is most beautiful. I want to go there. 🙂
It is beautiful up there, i would love to visit someday.
Let’s go together. We’d have a great time. 🙂
HAHA…to go over that bridge I would have had to blind fold my mom and lay here down in the back seat. Me, I really don’t have issues going over bridges like that although I have to say, that one is really LONG! Water is BEAUTIFUL. As for the bob hair cut (my blog)….I tend to let mine grow, then I get a wild hair (haha and no pun intended) and I go get it cut. I like it longer now cause it is just easier to care for. I can just pull it back and go. Since I don’t do my make up daily, I don’t do my hair daily. Mine is almost sitting on the top of my shoulder now, it needs trimming. However, if I don’t stop losing it by the handful I might just go ahead and shave my head!
That’s what I’m going for too. A short bob that is easy to care for. I’ve had my hair very short for a very long time. You just haven’t lived until you’re on the boat with a bunch of other boaters and you get up with boat hair. Not pretty. 🙂
I would love to go visit! Thanks for adding me to the link-up. I’m going now to visit some of the other links.
Thanks for joining in today. I was thrilled to see you with a WW post. Have a great day. 🙂
I’d love to go there and make sure to visit Norway where my great grandfather is supposedly from. When I don’t really know where I’m talking about I’ll say, “Scandinavia.”
That will work. It’s some pretty countryside. 🙂
Sorry we are so late. Been busy getting another cat to the vet and then brought Split home today and spent the rest of the day trying to get her to eat. She finally ate a little bit a few minutes ago. Sandee, you and Zane take good care.
Sorry you’re having so many issues with the vet and kitties. Not fun at all. You have a good day too, Marg. 🙂
It certainly looks beautiful and inviting!
Yes it does and I’d love to visit for a long while. 🙂
Wow, what a gorgeous place. I don’t suspect I will ever see it in person. Lots of places we’d still like to travel to, but with Sawyer traveling is no longer possible. Thanks for linking us up and for the birthday wishes for Dad Tom. Hugs, Janet
We won’t visit here either. Our traveling days are over, but it sure is an inviting place. You’re most welcome for the linking and the singing happy birthday to dad Tom. Hugs back. 🙂
The world is full of amazing and awe-inspiring sights and sounds
Yes, the world is indeed full of amazing and awe-inspiring sights and sounds. 🙂
On a clear day, yes. On a stormy day…no.
I’m with you on this one, Mike. My best to Seymour and Element. 🙂
Powerful and dynamic photo ~ what an awesome bridge ~ Xox from Me and Ms. Z !
Happy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
It is indeed. Looks ever so inviting. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. :_
I know about Scandinavia that this is a frozen country, so we visit it in the summer.
Best wishes
Yes, it’s frozen in the winter and lovely in the summer. I agree, summer is the time to visit. 🙂
I’d skip the bridge, but the rest of it sounds like a wonderful place to visit.
I’d want to do the bridge too, but hubby wouldn’t go. He’d be a basket case. 🙂
Awesome bridge building. I’d love to drive this highway.
We get the Northern Lights up here in Prince George, BC. Not nearly as far away as Scandanavia.
Jean
I will go with you. I’d love to see the Northern Lights too. 🙂
Bridges…you’ll never know what’s on the other side if you don’t go across.
Very true, Gene. I’d go across. Not in a storm though. 🙂
That scenery looks amazing. I hope to visit Scandanavia someday. You find the coolest pics.
I love searching for places I’d love to visit. 🙂
