Most Expensive House: Buckingham Palace | London, UK
Value: $1.55 billion
The Queen of England is the queen of real estate. Buckingham Palace is technically a Crown property and comprises 775 rooms, 188 staff rooms, including 52 royal and guest bedrooms, 92 offices, 78 bathrooms, and 19 staterooms making this not just the world’s most expensive residence but also the most ‘roomy’.
I’m ready to move in … no worries about someone else occupying the “loo”! I just need to buy a good vacuum first,
gotta keep that red carpet looking good.
I don’t think I’d like living there, but I would love to snoop around for a bit. 🙂
Wouldn’t it be fun to explore that place on your own. I don’t want a tour I just want to roam around on my own and peek inside every single door.
Yes, I don’t want the tour either. Let’s just roam wherever we want. I’ll go with you. 🙂
Such a beautiful staircase. I would love to explore on my own too.
It would be awesome to explore this huge place. 🙂
Sandee,
I’m a rule breaker, too. That’s why I changed my WW to not-so-Wordless! 🙂 I love staircases and want one in our next home just as long as the master bedroom is on the main level. I have visions of decorating the banister purrty for the holidays. 🙂 Happy WW to you, my dear!
You and I both are rule breakers. Good for you. Happy WW to you too, Cathy. 🙂
It’s hard to not add any words, but we try not to be too wordy. Some photos do need more words than others. Happy WW!
I’m a rule breaker so I add all the words I want. You can do the same. Happy WW to you too. 🙂
I see you found my house Sandee I have designated a wing for you to stay in see you soon 😉
Have a glorioustastic WWS ➡
I think you should invite all your buddies and we’ll enjoy a few days together. 🙂
Looks gorgeous, but not very homey. I don’t think I’d be comfortable living in a place like that.
I know I wouldn’t. I love right where I’m living right now. 🙂
That’s sure a lot of rooms to run and hide in!
Yes it is and you could lose your kitty for months or longer. 🙂
Wow, just think how many cats I could fit in there. I cannot imagine living there. Great picture. Sandee, you and Zane have a perfect day.
Lots and lots of cats. Wouldn’t that be a hoot. You have a great day, Marg. 🙂
Magnificent, but I wouldn’t want to live there… seems way to sterile and not homey at all.
I agree, Jeanne. Way too sterile for me too. 🙂
That would be a fun place to tour. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day 🙂 XO
Yes it would. I think we should all get together and tour it together and then have a great lunch together. That would be most fun. 🙂
Can you imagine living someplace like that? It must be like what staying in a big hotel is like for us peasants. 🙂
No I can’t. I’ve been in some nice hotels, but not this nice. 🙂
Beautiful! But you’d have to put litter boxes all over so the cats could find them – sorry, my practical side always wins out.
I wonder if there are cats or dogs at all? That’s something we need to find out. 🙂
Seymour would love to have a roll down those stairs!
Yes he would and it’s a long way to the bottom. 🙂
So this is Steveo’s home. I knew he lived where the queen lived. I wonder is he a duke or something? LOL See ya Sandee.
Cruisin Paul
Yes it is and Steve has invited me to visit. You coming too? I hope so. 🙂
Whoa…that’s a lotta gold to dust. 😊
It sure is. 🙂
I would love to explore this place.
I’ll come with you, Nancy. 🙂
I am so unromantic! I see this photo, and think, ‘who wants to dust all of that stuff?’ LOL!
All the folks that have a job there. I’m sure there are many working to keep this place tip-top. 🙂
That is too garish for me. Ugh… And are those stairs extra shallow? They look the opposite of my steep, knee creaking cellar steps. Heh… Be well!
Me too, Darla. This is very busy. Happy day and be well, too. 🙂
Wow, so very beautiful. It is nice to look at but with my clutter self I couldn’t live there.
I’m guessing there isn’t a thing out of place here. It’s beautiful. 🙂
Can you imagine having to clean all those loos!!? LOL
Hugs Cecilia
No, I’ve three here and that’s more than enough. In fact I just cleaned the two upstairs bathrooms. Hugs back, Cecilia. 🙂
Wow! Beautiful!
That’s a heck of a lot of rooms to have to furnish. And clean! LOL
Thank you for hosting, Sandee. Have a terrific day! 🙂
I couldn’t afford even a couple of rooms in this place. 🙂
Us, either! Ha! 🙂
How about that? Those huge home don’t seem like a home to me, but instead a commercial business space.
That’s because it really is. Good call. 🙂
Such a regal room ~ beauty ~ money, perhaps could be used to help people ????? ~ Xox to you from Ms. Z and me
Happy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
No, I don’t think they help many. Just saying. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂
Wow absolutely beautiful. Definitely a WW photo. I hope you have a wonderful day honey. Love & hugs coming your way ❤🤗
I’m having a great day honey. Love you. 🙂
Tis a magnificent place but not for me. It’s doesn’t have that warm and cozy feeling. Happy Wednesday!
No it doesn’t. I would rather have my home than this one. 🙂
When we were at Buckingham Palace, it was closed to visitors. Sigh! We only managed to view the exterior of the palace. Thank you for sharing this photo, Sandee!
I’d not seen the inside before. I just thought it would be fun. 🙂
OMG CUT ME LOOSE IN THAT PLACE FOR SURE! Come on girlfriend you get on one banister and I’ll get on the other and we’ll meet in the middle!!! bwahahahaha Wow! Only thing is I bet you can get lost in that place very easily. They probably have those soldiers all over the place telling directions, right? hmmm Just seems to me that…. oh wait, let’s give it to the people at the border I’m sure there would be plenty of room left over…. nahhhhhhhhhh I like the Queen I think she’s kinda cool. What a legacy to leave her family, right? Man, if only we were a princesses!!! Woo Hoo! Have a great week. We’re having our family Christmas Saturday. I’ll have tons of pics… and stories I’m sure! hahaha Love you gal… you’re duh best! HUGS
I love your banister idea. I’d probably hurt myself. I’m already a princess, because I said so. 🙂
The word “opulent” comes to mind. One has to wonder, when was the last time any of the royals have actually seen every room in the castle? From time to time I would probably find myself taking a personal tour of the place and just marveling at the history that is at my very fingertips.
I would be taking a personal tour often. Just to make sure things were in order. Not all in one day though. 🙂
I could probably live here for a long time and no one would find me.
That’s probably true. You could probably hide for years. 🙂
That is one beautiful home with such a grand staircase. Mom says she is glad she doesn’t have to vacuum all those stairs:)
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
I’m glad I don’t have to vacuum all those stairs either. 🙂
That is quite the grand staircase. I’d hate to be the one who had to dust every nook and cranny! 🙂
There are 188 staff rooms so I’m guessing there are a lot of folks that keep this place spotless. 🙂
Not a lifestyle i’ve ever hankered after. Have a great Wednesday!
Me either. I like simple and that’s just what we have. 🙂
Happy Wednesday! <3
I can’t imagine living is such a fancy house as that one. I’ll bet they have a huge staff to see after it.
No I can’t and I sure coudln’t afford it. 🙂
Thanks for linking us up. What a beautiful place…Buckingham Palace. I just got a funny picture in my head of some normal person walking down the stairs in sweatpants and a ripped t-shirt. MOL! Hugs, Janet
Not that picture is in my head too and it made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that. Hugs back. 🙂
We’ve been there. 🙂 You’re right though talk about a real estate guru. 😉 Have a wonderful day!
She is a real estate guru indeed. You have a wonderful day too, my friend. 🙂
Up the down staricase.
You can just fly around, Kismet. I’ll do it the hard way. 🙂
I would love to explore that palace! On the other hand, the “conspicuous consumption” is a bit off-putting. LOL Joining you weekly #WW for the first time. Nice to meet you, Sandee!
I’m pretty sure the conspicuous consumption is alive and well everywhere here. Nice to meet you too, Debbie and thanks for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop. 🙂
You could get lost in there and never find your way out.
I’m guessing there are worse places to get lost in. As long as I know where the kitchen and a restroom is I’ll be fine. 🙂
Have you watched the Crown on Netflix?! Boy do I ever not want their lives!!
No, I’ve not watched that, but I am ever so happy I’m not a royal. 🙂
I went to an investiture there a couple of years ago and stood alongside Paul McCartney in the Gentlemen’s Facility!
What a way to meet Paul McCartney. 🙂
oh my….I cannot imagine! Have a great day- sorry for my absence- not only are we still unpacking etc, but now
we both have awful colds…..probably from the stress……take care- eventually we will be back to normal! xoxo
Just get well. Moving is very hard and it take time to make sure things are clean before you put them away. i so remember. Love you bunches and lots of lovies to Miss. Lucy. 🙂
