Out of all of the mountains that make up the Alps, the Matterhorn is probably the best known. Meaning “peak in the meadows” in German, the nearly 15,000-foot-tall mountain straddles the Swiss-Italian border and has long been a bucket list destination for climbers. Taller peaks like Mount Everest and K2 may overshadow it in terms of height, but the Matterhorn’s seemingly eternal pop-culture presence makes it easily recognizable to people around the world.
What a beautiful scene and capture first time I have actually seen a photo of the Matterhorn
Have a mountainoustastic WWS ➡ 🙂
I would love to see this mountain for real. Don’t want to climb it though. Have a great WW, Steve. 🙂
It’s astounding, isn’t it? Happy Wednesday to you and Mr. Zane!
It is indeed. Happy Wednesday to you and Mr. Sweetie. 🙂
Stunning!
Happy WW, Sandee
Yes it is, Veronica. Happy WW to you too. 🙂
Just breathtaking
Yes it is. Mother Nature is awesome. 🙂
Wow, that is really something. Just gorgeous. Sandee, you and Zane have one really nice day.
It is gorgeous indeed, Marg. You and the donks and the kitties have a really nice day too. 🙂
Sandee,
What a grand picture! We certainly don’t have mountains like that in the east. It would be so pAwesome to see places like this someday. Have a picturesque day!
There are a few mountain ranges I’d like to visit. This is one of them. 🙂
Love reflection photos. We got a few last weekend up north with the woods reflecting on the lake.
Oh I get that was a pretty sight. I need to travel to the mountains before the snow closes many passes. 🙂
That is oh so beautiful, we could look at it all day long.
Yes it is and can you imagine seeing that in person. Me either. 🙂
That is a beautiful photo. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day! 🙂
Someone knew what they were doing when they photographed this awesome setting. You have a great day too. 🙂
i just came back from Switzerland though i did not see the matterhorn!
Lucky you and you’re off on another adventure soon. 🙂
Would LOVE to wake up to that view!
Me too, Jeanne, me too. 🙂
Being a flatlander, the best we have around here is some rolling hills that were left over from the glaciers a long, long time ago. When visiting Colorado, the higher elevation and thin air gave me such a headache! But, I’d take a trip to the Matterhorn; how beautiful!
I’m a flatlander too. Have been for years. I do love the mountains though. 🙂
Beautiful photo. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
You’re most welcome and you have a wonderful week too. 🙂
What an amazing photo!! We love how it captures the reflection of the Matterhorn in the water.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
The reflection adds a lot to this mountain indeed. 🙂
Forget the climbing, I can see it being a bucket list item just to go see this landscape!!
I’m with you. Climbing it is out of the question. 🙂
I think I put this puzzle together before! It is almost unreal in beauty.
What a great puzzle it would be to do. 🙂
Beautiful! I would love to see the Matterhorn in real life some day!
I hope you get to see this in person one day. 🙂
That mountain is immense beautiful, Sandee. It has the shape of a seal…at least that’s what we see in it, Thank you for linking us up, when we were here this morning (for us), you probably still were in the mountain 😀 Extra Double Pawkiss for a wonderful day 🙂 <3
You’re welcome for the link up. I loved your post today. Little Binky does such a great job. Triple pawkisses to Little Binky. 🙂
What an absolutely breathtaking photo. I love reflections.
Hugs Cecilia
Me too and this photographer really captured the reflections. Hugs back, my friend. 🙂
What an awww inspiring Wordless Wednesday. I put my link in your bloghop for my post. Enjoy.
Thank you, Crystal. This just jumped right off the page at me. 🙂
A spectacular view. If it’s that amazing in a picture can you imagine what it’s like to be standing there viewing it in person
No I can’t imagine what it really looks like. 🙂
Wow! What a vista ~ beautiful mountain photo and reflection! Xox from Ms. Z and me to you ^_^
Happy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores
Some knew what they were doing when they took this photograph. I wish I was talented like this. Lots of xoxo to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂
Such a recognizable shape, and of course it’s also the logo of Toblerone chocolate bars!
Well there you go. If there is anyone that know about chocolate, it would be you. 🙂
Reflctions give us double beauty
Yes it does. Double beauty is a good thing. 🙂
Beautiful and majestic! No wonder it is famous.
Yes indeed. It’s a beautiful mountain. 🙂
Does it count that I have been on the ride at Disneyland?
Why not. It’s a fun thing too. 🙂
Hi Sandee, it looks lovely and I swear I can see a face on the side of the mountain.
xx
Okay, now you’re going to make me go look. 🙂
I’ve been here! As a 15 year old teenager….the group I was with hiked up a bit….but not to the top! Have a super day!
Lucky you. You’re a wonderful world traveler. 🙂
So that’s the matterhorn. I rode a roller coaster once that was called the Matterhorn. It’s a gorgeous mountain.
