Banff National Park is Canada‘s oldest national park and was established in 1885. Located in the Rocky Mountains, 110–180 kilometres (68–112 mi) west of Calgary in the province of Alberta, Banff encompasses 6,641 square kilometres (2,564 sq mi) of mountainous terrain, with numerous glaciers and ice fields, dense coniferous forest, and alpine landscapes.
It sure is an amazing place to explore. Maybe one day……
I love the outdoors far better than cities. This is my kind of place. 🙂
What a beautiful park and fantastic capture, LQQKS so peaceful too ➡
Have a coniferoustastic WWS 🙂
Someone knew how to photograph this beauty, although some say it doesn’t do it justice. 🙂
Breathtaking place, Sandee 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Wednesday 🙂 ♥
Yes it is, Binky. Pawkisses for a happy Wednesday too. 🙂
Now there’s a peaceful scene. I can imagine sitting there in quiet contemplation.
Quiet contemplation is a good thing from time to time. 🙂
That is a gorgeous and interesting picture. Sure looks like a great place to visit. Sandee, you and Zane have a fantastic day.

That’s about as pretty as it gets!
I believe you’re right, Brian. 🙂
Remote and isolated are a couple of words that come to mind when looking at this image, but peaceful and stunning are more appropriate. Lovely image.
Peaceful and stunning works well for me too. 🙂
Beautiful! I’d much rather go there than some urban center.
You and me both. Always. 🙂
Great beautiful place for skiing in winter as well.
I would guess it would be just as fun in the winter. 🙂
WOW! I’d love to visit Banff some day.
Happy WW, Sandee!
Me too, Veronica. Happy WW to you too. 🙂
Beautiful photo. Thank you for hosting. Have a great day!
Thank you and you’re welcome. You have a great day too. 🙂
Canada, eh? There must be a lot of hockey games on that lake when it freezes over in the winter.
Perhaps and perhaps not. We need a bird to do a fly over in the wintertime to see what’s happening. 🙂
BRRRRRR SQAAAAAAAWK
Guess you don’t want to do the fly-over. 🙂
So beautiful. I want to jump in that water today as we are looking at temps of 110 degrees!!
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Yikes, we had 106° the other day. Way too hot. 🙂
Very beautiful photo and so peaceful. Lovely.
Peaceful is my kind of place. 🙂
I am now homesick! Morraine Lake is one of my favorite places in Banff. I grew up in Calgary and spent a whole bunch of time hiking, climbing, camping and fishing in and around Banff Park.
Thanks for the great start to hump day!
Love Barb

Yes it is, Carol. Scritches to Zoe. 🙂
one of my favorite places!
Then you’ve been there. Good for you. 🙂
Banff is a gorgeous area. I was there many, many years ago so this brought back some good memories.
I’m glad I brought back some good memories. 🙂
Mom loves Banff. She hasn’t been there for a few years now as Jasper National Park is 3 hours from here and banff is more like 8 hours. Both parks are lovely. To see the herd of elks frolicking about is a unique experience.
Hugs,
Jean
There are place on the way to Oregon that you can see moose and elk frolicking. It is a unique experience. 🙂
Beautiful!
Sandee, I hope you had a great day!! Your friend, Michelle
It sure is beautiful. You have a great too, Michelle. 🙂
There are friends i want to go see up there someday, and i’d love to visit as many of their scenic wonders as possible while there.
That would make going here even more fun. I hope you get to go someday. 🙂
Banff has a great deal of natural beauty.
It sure does, Binky. I think lots of Canada has a great deal of natural beauty. 🙂
Sandee,
What a beautiful scene! This has to be out west somewhere or Alaska. Do you know the location? I’d love to visit this spot! Thanks for hosting the mid-week fun, my friend!
Sandee, ignore my question on where is this because dopey me just spotted it. Geez, it’s just too early in the a.m.! Or, maybe I just need to jump back in bed and throw the covers over my head for a few more hours, then try it again. 🙂
Not a problem. I do this very thing often. Have some coffee. 🙂
I would love to visit this spot too. 🙂
Breathtaking photo. Mother nature at her finest.
Yes, Mother Nature at her finest. 🙂
