Mackinac Island, Michigan – No cars are allowed on this small island on the strait between Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas, making it an idyllic summer getaway.
Looks nice. I’ve been saying lately that I need to win the lottery and move to my own island.
I would be nice to have this island, but only in the summer. I think there are a couple of weeks of summer here. 🙂
Wow, that sure sounds like a great place to go. No cars. I would enjoy that. Sandee, you and Zane have a super day.
No cars works for me. We live in a small town here and there aren’t a lot of cars. We like that. 🙂
No cars works for me. Looks beautiful and I am all about the peace of the water!
No cars and water. What’s better than that. 🙂
It LQQKS lovely there and no cars even better heheh!
Have an idyllictastic WWS 🙂
The no cars part is excellent. I would love to explore here during the summer. 🙂
Sandee,
I would like to visit Mackinac Island. I’d love to see the great lakes again. When we were in Michigan in February 2000 it was so darn cold and windy that it made being outdoors for more than 10 seconds miserable. Maybe next time we visit, it’ll be in the middle of summer. Gorgeous photo!

This is clearly a summer place. I hate it when it’s that cold and windy. Have a great day, Cathy. 🙂
i have always wanted to go there-it is on my list!
I’ve read many book where this area was mentioned a lot. 🙂
It’s beautiful, but I couldn’t take the winters.
I know I couldn’t take the winters. Hawaii winters are more my style. 🙂
I could spend a few vacation days there, fishing for smallmouth bass.
I could see you doing that. It’s a good thing. 🙂
That looks like a beautiful place. Have a wonderful day!
It’s quite the tourist destination in the summer. 🙂
I’ve been near there, but never have actually gone to the island, though I love the idea of no cars.
It looks like a great place for a summer vacation. 🙂
I agree. Prior to his death, my husband’s grandfather lived about 30 miles from there, which is why I’ve been in the area, but never to that particular spot.
I’ve never been to Michigan. I’ve read books about the beauty there. It’s on my list of places to visit. 🙂
I went to college there – specifically in Grand Rapids, which is about 4 hours South of that island.
There’s an island in Michigan?
Yes there is. Honest. 🙂
Not a recent photo-there’s no snow.
This is most likely a summer shot. I wouldn’t think many people are there in the winter. 🙂
Such a fun place. It’s been ages since I’ve been there. I wonder if it’s changed much.
I would love to go and spend a week. I’m guessing it’s pretty expensive too. 🙂
What a wonderful and lovely place to be. Thanks for sharing it. Thanks for hosting and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Yes indeed, Patrick. You have a wonderful week too. 🙂
I believe this is where SO and family spent some vacations. Looks awesome, though I would miss my car. ~grin~ Be well!
I’m guessing there are some form of transportation. If not then the handicapped wouldn’t have a chance of getting around with ease. 🙂
Looks like a nice retreat.
It does indeed, Binky. A nice place to recharge ones batteries. 🙂
What a beautiful view! That place looks lovely 🙂
Yes it does. I love places that cars are forbidden. 🙂
Interesting place. Thanks for sharing!
You’re most welcome, Michelle. 🙂
That’s so pretty and no cars equal no Vet visits, purrfect!
I so remember getting my kitties to the vet. Not an easy task. 🙂
A great island…is this Cape Cod? I do like all the water and empty areas.
Shoko
No this is Mackinac Island in Michigan. 🙂
Hi, I want to ask question if you don’t mind 😊
Okay, what is your question? 🙂
I think that you unfollowed my blog. Any reason? I’d love to hear it 😊
You haven’t been commenting here and that’s why. If you’re going to visit now and then I’ll add you back. Deal? I added you back. 🙂
I’m really sorry about that, I followed all my followers and some other blogs, so it will be a while to get to you, but with this I think I will remember you in the future, thank you for the answer 😊
I can’t make a promise that I will be able to visit regulary. I admire your blog by the way, how you connected WordPress with blogspot domain, I have no idea that it could happen, I’m a really slow reader by the way 😁
it’s your decision, I don’t mind if you are not following mine, I’ll understand that, I have my answer and that’s enough for me, it’s really nice meeting you here 😊
Not a problem. I follow lots of sites and it takes me a long time to visit everyone. I try to keep the ones that visit and comment regularly. It’s all good. Nice meeting you too. 🙂
Glad that we clear things up 😊
So gorgeous! We want to go to the UP in Michigan so badly!
It is gorgeous. I would love to visit and play. 🙂
Looks like a lovely place. I’ve never heard of it before. Thanks for sharing.
It’s very popular during the summer months. I think I first heard about this island while reading a book. It was described as an enchanting place to visit in the summer. 🙂
No cars on a small island sounds ideal for a visit.
You finally got your comments to work. Way to go. 🙂
Hmm, I’m not sure why I’m not getting email notices of your posts anymore. I’ll subscribe again and see if that fixes it. In the meantime, I’m putting together a post for WW!
I don’t know why either and you’re not the only one. 🙁
When I try to resubscribe, it says I’ve opted out of email notifications. When I go to manage my subscriptions, it says I’m following. Sigh….
Beautiful picture!
Thank you. Looks like a great summer getaway. 🙂
I bet it would be a blast!
Great Wordless Wednesday. Just put mine out. My link is in.
I’ll be right over. 🙂
that is in Northern Michigan and I am in Southeast Michigan…would love to get up there sometime!
I would love to explore this island. No cars would make it extra nice. 🙂
Gorgeous!
Yes it is. Have a great day. 🙂
Wow! That water is absolutely beautiful! All we have is muddy water around here.
Have a blessed week!
Yep, that’s spring in many places. You have a blessed week too. 🙂
Here in this part of Texas, it is spring, summer, fall AND winter. I’ve never seen the water clear here.
Thanks. 🙂
That’s a lot is seasons to deal with in one day/week. 🙂
Just blink and the weather changes around here. 🙂 There are some days with as much as a 40 degree temperature spread. Nobody knows how to dress for the day!
The island looks lovely. No cars? Sort of loos like it has some roads.
Perhaps they are used at night to move things.to and from businesses. Looks like things would be pretty labor intensive here. 🙂
I’ve never been there but would love to visit someday. I’ve heard and read it is beautiful!
I would love to visit here too. In the summer though. 🙂
Yes, the winters would be too cold for me.
I’m a fair weather kind of gal. 🙂
Me too.
wow! no cars are allowed there? it sounds really healthy — people have to walk or bike.
A summer paradise. 🙂
I want to go and make this our family’s new summer tradition!
As active as your family this would be the perfect getaway. 🙂
Gorgeous place and photo!
