iPad 2 Gold History Edition
First reported by Engadget, the iPad 2 Gold History Edition features a solid 24-carat gold backing, an Apple logo and home button made from 65 flawless diamonds and a screen frame made from ammonite rock (rainbow-colored rock made from the remains of prehistoric mollusks) and slivers of thigh bone from a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Price: $8 million!
I need a new ipad, do you think when I blink long enough I will get this one, Sandee 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Wordless Wednesday 🙂 <3
You could get just about anything you want. That’s what I think. 🙂
For every outrageously priced item like this, there is at least one idiot out there who is willing to pay the price. Even if I could afford something like that I would never buy it because without a doubt I would end up dropping it within the first week and breaking it.
I think they only sold two of these. Outrageous is right. 🙂
That looks expensive. How long before it’s obsolete?
It’s obsolete as soon as you pay for it. 🙂
I have two of those…coughs
Have a goldtastic WWS
Of course you do, Steve. You crack me up. 🙂
Great photo, we have a new one here too.
So you’re one of the two people that spend 8 million on this trinket? 🙂
Oh, I certainly am going out right away and buy a couple of those. Sounds like the ‘in’ thing to have. There will probably be plenty to go around. Sandee, You and Zane have one terrific day.
This is way too rich for my blood, but if you can afford it then go for it. 🙂
Wow! Modern tech and a Rex in one hand-held device. Hmmm, could someone give me $8 mill please? To buy the iPad? um, no. It would just be nice to have the $8 mil, laughing. I could give to charity and travel around the world in style with Pinkie and MIdnight.
I too can find much better ways to spend 8 million. 🙂
That looks very impressive. Binky & Granny want one. Since Steve has two, maybe he will give them one. 😉
Happy Wednesday! HUGS!
Perhaps Steve will fork on over to Little Binky and Granny. That would be very nice. 🙂
Holy cow! That means that there are enough crazy people out there with more money than brains who are willing to buy that stuff. Heck, if they want to spend that kind of money, I’ll sell them my iPad for $1 million and save them all that extra. Of course, they’ll have to get their own diamonds and gold! But, obviously, they can afford to do that! 😛
I said Holy Cow too when I saw this. Some folks have a lot of money. 🙂
Nice photo ~ but absurd price for iPad ~ what a world!
Happy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Yep, what a world indeed. Happy day to you and Zoe too. 🙂
That’s a pretty fancy device. I worry enough as it is about losing my $100 phone, can’t imagine owning anything like that.
I can’t imagine either. Way too rich for my blood. 🙂
I wonder if anyone is going to buy that. If I had that kind of money, I would save so many cats. XO
See you would do something meaningful with all that money. Good for you. 🙂
My pet rock says this is 100% me…
If Seymour says it then it’s true. Seymour is always right. 🙂
Granted, it would be easier to find that in the bottom of my purse, which has a black lining (and my cell is black) but why would anyone want something that pricy?!?
Some people have to have the best of everything. Must be most expensive. 🙂
I wouldn’t want the responsibility. While living in Central America, I basically gave up wearing jewelry because some robbers wanted gold, etc. so much they’d literally cut your finger off to get the ring… A neighbor’s mom was strolling in the park after a nice evening meal and some thug ripped the necklace off her neck, cutting her neck in the process and she nearly bled to death.
Nope, bling is NOT for me!
What is an IPad? Ha,ha,ha. Have a great Wedneday Sandee.
Cruisin Paul
It’s a gadget, Paul. You don’t need one. Neither do I. 🙂
Hmm…I have an first generation IPad that still works…well it works in its own little world. There is no way to bring it into this century. Do they make an IPad mini at half the price? Just asking.
Funny how things work when they age. Some of the apps work and others don’t. We had that problem with our electronics on our boat. All new stuff now and it’s wonderful. 🙂
Wow, that is fancy. I’d be afraid I’d drop it! Have a great week!
I’d be afraid to touch it. Way too expensive for me. 🙂
Are the bugs extra cost?
You crack me up, Kismet. Your sense of humor if a very good thing. 🙂
people have too much money!
Apparently some people do have too much money. I sure don’t. 🙂
I sure hope this is a joke. And I was upset when dh left his cheap ipad in the car when he had his oil changed, and then didn’t have it afterward.
Nope this is no joke. This is for real and two people bought this expensive iPad. I’m sorry about your hubbies iPad got stolen. Shame on them. 🙂
8 million for an ipad? I will stick with my used $200 one. And even that was a lot of money when I spent it.
I hear you. I’ve an android and I about choked when I had to pay for it. 🙂
Put my link in.
I’m glad you did, Crystal. Have a great day. 🙂
Can I get this in a Kindle version? This way at least the books would be cheap…
For the rich you can get anything you want. Amazing how that works. 🙂
oh my….I’ll run right out and get one! xoxox
I’ll go with you, Kathe. 🙂
I like gold but this is just silly 🙂 Hope you are having a great week Sandee
Yes, but there are people that have this kind of money and would buy something like this. You have a great week too. 🙂
What a bargain!
I thought it was very pricey. Way to rich for my blood. 🙂
Woah! I can thing of many things I need more than a gold ipad but hey if that floats your boat go for it. I wonder if it is so heavy the peep needs help lifting it. I could lift it over here. hehe
Jean
I feel the same as you. If you can afford it and you want it why not. I would be terrified that someone would steal it though. 🙂
Nope. No, no, no. If i had something like that, i’d have to lock it up and worry about it too much.
That makes two of us, Mimi. I would be worried sick too. 🙂
That is crazy! I can’t even upgrade after an Iphone 5 because of $$ lol
I hear you. I’ve an old android and I haven’t upgraded either. 🙂
Wow! How cool! I would lose that phone in about a week…pitiful, I know, but I would. Great Wordless Wednesday!
xoxo
You and I wouldn’t spend this kind of money on an iPad if we could afford to do so. It’s not in our DNA. 🙂
That is crazy!
You nailed it. 🙂
Pretty sure I could find a better way to spend $8 million. 🙂
I could find many great ways to better spend this kind of money. 🙂
I would be afraid to touch it! I’ll spend my 8 mil elsewhere. lol
I’ll go shopping with you. 🙂
😀😀
I have my laptop….I love my laptop although a ipad would be easier to carry around.
I hear you, Pam. I love my laptop too and have never had an iPad. 🙂
If I had 8 mil, that is the last thing I’d buy! I could open my black cat sanctuary and save more animals than I can count. It’s like that Victoria’s Secret gemstone encrusted bra they make each year…foolishness!
I agree with you, it is foolishness. I just wanted to do the most expensive hotel, the most expensive dinner and the most expensive trinket. I came up with all three. You’re plan to save more animals is a far better idea. 🙂
Sweet! But if I could afford one of those…I probably could afford to retire…which I would LOVE to do!
Love Barb
I hear you. I wouldn’t dream of wanting something this expensive. I thought my android phone was too expensive. 🙂
This iPad is obscene! But it sure has sparked some entertaining comments. Can you imagine how much good could be done with that much money? Just sayin.
I agree, Wanda. I could find so many worthy charities to do some good. Saving animals, saving babies. So many things. 🙂
I bet these will just go flying off the shelf. Great price 🙂
They only sold two of these, Jen. I can’t even imagine selling one. 🙂
I can’t imagine anyone having so much money that they would buy this when there are so many other things they could spend their money on. I guess this epitomizes the saying, more money than sense.
You’re right, Pam. There are many that have so much money that they have no real value of that money. Being comfortable is far better. 🙂
Hi Sandee, I’m not a fan of Apple products, but this looks mighty blingy! Very nice.
xx
I don’t have any Apple products, but this is very blingy. Very expensive too. 🙂
