Moraine Lake ~ Canada
Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 1,884 metres (6,181 ft). The lake has a surface area of 50 hectares (120 acres).
The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until middle to late June. When it is full, it reflects a distinctive shade of azure blue. The unique colour is due to the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis by surrounding glaciers. Source: Wikipedia

Thank you for such a kind comment, Anne. I went over and visited Betsy as you suggested. Nice lady. 🙂
This photo took my breathe away. I think you may know Betsy at Joyful Reflections. She posts the happiest photos they take on all their hiking adventures! It has been cold where they live in Tennessee but she and George are bundled up and are snapping the best photos as they go along! Thanks Sandee! You are the very best.

Moraine Lake is even more beautiful in late fall! Many of the trees aeond the lake are Tammaraks (Larch) and they turn a beautiful golden yellow! My Aunt and Uncle lived in Lake Louise, which is just a few miles from Moraine Lake. It was one of my favorite places to hike when I was growing up. See your photo makes me wish I could drive up for a hike! Thanks fo the wonderful memories.
