Bled Island – Slovenia
Bled Island is a tiny tear-shaped isle in the middle of Lake Bled in the northwestern corner of Slovenia. It is the only naturally-occurring island in Slovenia. Most famous one is the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary, a Baroque church containing fresco fragments from the 15th century. Source: Travel Slovenia
Looks stunning and so peaceful!
I think that would be a great church to attend. The getting there is the fun part. 🙂

It’s 3am and I’ve just finished reading up on Slovenia. I had no idea where it was or that Melania Trump is from there or really anything at all about it but I think I would put it on my list of places to visit especially if there is a wedding. I want to see the groom carry his soon-to-be bride up those 99 steps to the church to get married! Interesting place. Thanks for sharing. Love you. Xoxo
Yes it’s a magical place with a rich history. Sorry I kept you up so late. Love you, Karen. 🙂

A very beautiful location. Didn’t they have a war years ago? See ya Sandee.
Cruisin Paul
I don’t know about a war. There are to many of them to keep up sometimes. 🙂
Oh my people! That is the homeland of all my ancestors. My cousin Kay has traveled there multiple times to increase our history on our Kocman side. She said it is exquiste. I love our First Lady, as she is one of us. sLOVEnia, years ago the Catholic lodge we grew up in had t shirts. I wish I Had one today. I would wear it proudly. Thank you for sharing this. HUGS xo

Thanks for playing along and I often have lots of words. You have a wonderful day too. 🙂
So I guess you have to paddle out to church in a canoe? Perhaps they could have an outdoor service socially distanced with the island surrounded by canoes? A beautiful photo nevertheless.
Going out on a boat would be most fun. 🙂
Happy Wordless Wednesday!! Such a wonderful and peaceful looking place. There is somewhere I would love to visit one day in my life. Thanks for the wonderful share. Have an excellent rest of your day.

I know I can’t afford it, but you might be able to pull it off. 🙂
Slovenia sure looks picturesque.
I’m sure it is too. Have a great day. 🙂

A beautiful lake and island. Coastal BC has many island along the coast and even in our Powell Lake. Goad Island in front of our cabin is quite large, and granite bluffs are the home of mountain goats. – Margy
Islands and water. It doesn’t get any better than that. 🙂
Beautiful island! It’s like a small recluse from all the difficulties around. A piece of paradise on earth.
We are all looking for a peaceful place to be. 🙂
