Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is dedicated to honoring the memories of those beloved pets in our lives we have loved and lost but never forgotten – whether a pet with fur, fin, feathers, scales, or something else – one pet, or many. Post a picture, share a memory, upload a video, or more.
Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day was founded in 2015 by Deborah Barnes, award-winning author in tribute to her Ragdoll cat, Mr. Jazz, who she had to say goodbye to on August 28, 2013. She shared his journey in her book, Purr Prints of the Heart – A Cat’s Tale of Life, Death, and Beyond and created the day in his honor as a way for others across the world to share memories of their own pets they had loved and lost.
This is our precious Little Bit. She was a constant companion for almost 13 years. She was a delight to be around and she was loved by both hubby and I. We miss her so. This was drawn by Nancy L, a very special friend.
Meowser, that is a good painting. Do you purrsonally know that friendly-looking doggy?
Thank you for hosting this blog hop.
Purrseidon
She was our girl for almost 13 years. 🙂

Nancy is such an artist. She can do so many wonderful things. 🙂
What a lovely remembrance of your Little Bit! We were going to post our Emma, but Mom could not pull herself together enough to do it. Lots of first coming up, and it is too hard for her. We are glad you shared her with us so we know what she looked like.
I get how hard it can be. They just stay in our hearts forever. Big hug. 🙂
Oh Sandee, that is such a fantastic picture of Little Bit. She was a wonderful dog. You and Zane have a perfect day.

She was, Ellen. She was our baby. 🙂
Beautiful painting!
Thank you, Chris. 🙂
What a beautiful portrait of Little Bit. They’re never really gone. I keep trying to put together a post but it’s on the passing of our 18-year-old kitty, Midge. I think once I get past that I’ll be posting a bit more regularly.
No, she’s with us. I agree. Sorry about Midge. Big hug. 🙂
Such a precious and beautiful Little Bit, hugs as you remember your sweetie.
She was precious and she was beautiful. We were so happy she was ours. 🙂
What a lovely drawing of your beloved Little Bit. Sending you and hubby gentle purrs as you remember your special and beautiful girl.
Thank you so much for the gentle purrs. 🙂
What precious memories they leave behind, she was beautiful.
Millions of precious memories. 🙂
Your sweet puppy. We miss our Zoe like this too, but our sweet little Eddie is such a delight. Children really do need animals in their lives. I am so happy we brought him home with us.
She was a sweet one for sure and everyone loved her. She was so social. 🙂
It is amazing the love a pet can give that fills our hearts to the brim. More amazing is that all of our furs can do the same and there is always room and remembrance of those who have passed
It is amazing and they love us unconditionally. 🙂
I love this drawing. You and your hubby were blessed to know this beautiful fur baby. I know how you loved her and miss her. HUGS and LOVE to you today and always.
Yes, she was most precious to us. Love and hugs back. 🙂
Pets are angels from Heaven we’re lucky enough to know for too brief a time.
I agree, Mike. They are most precious. 🙂
We’ve had quite a few lost pets. Out of our current three dogs, two are old, and I’m worried about losing them within the next few years.
They never stay long enough. Good to see you, Joyce. 🙂
We love and miss you Little Bit. .
I would give almost anything if she was a pup again and we had another 13 years with her. I ♥ you, my husband. 🙂
Little Bit I am so happy to know have a picture of you in my MIND’S Eye. Your mom keeps your memory close to her heart and she mentions you often…Sending hugs to Mom and Dad as they remember your love.
Cecilia
Yes I do keep her close to my heart. So does hubby. 🙂
PS that is a beautiful painting of you
Little Bit says thank you. 🙂

Pets are wonderful companions. And that it a great picture of Little Bit.
Yes they are, Binky and Little Bit was the very best pup we’ve ever had. 🙂
What a beautiful way to celebrate the lives of all of our furry companions who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge…and such lovely portrait of Little Bit.
I didn’t know about this last year, but I know about it now. I’ll be doing this each year. 🙂
Our dogs are some of the most precious memories in this life. I couldn’t find and photos of my previous pets, but you have seen enough of Lucy to know that she believes we are her rescue humans.
I agree and I’ve had great kitties too. They have all been a blessing. 🙂
Beautiful.
Thank you, Holly Jo. 🙂
It’s a rough day.I remember Kyla, Kenzie, Boomerang, Puffy, Max and others.
You changed the theme fo your blog.
Yes, it’s been a bittersweet day. So many have lost their precious babies. 🙂
Beautiful painting! I miss my Tobi, an Akita with a huge personality who crossed the Rainbow Bridge 5 years ago this month.
I still think I’ll come around a corner and she’ll be there. 🙂
oh wow, that’s a lovely picture of Little Bit. I love her eyes, looks so loving. Sorry that Little Bit is gone. the love she shared with you sounds pretty special.
She was the best girl ever. She was just perfect. 🙂
Hi Sandee, that is a lovely sketching of Little Bit. Pets play such a big part in our lives, but the hole they leave is even bigger. It’s the price we pay for their unconditional love and well worth the emotional cost. I couldn’t imagine life without a pet.
xx
Nancy is most talented and I was so surprised when she did this portrait of Little Bit. Such a treasure. 🙂
I am sooo happy you shared that stunning portrait of your beloved Little Bit. I can see so much personality in that face!!! Beautiful Little Bit… ♥ xo Remembering our beautiful black kitty Midnight who passed on August 20—always in our hearts… ♥
Always in our hearts indeed, Bette. We miss her so. 🙂
Oh Sandee this is just precious! Your friend is so gifted! With the intricate detail I can see the sweetness in Little Bit’s eyes! It was hard for me to stop looking into them! Thank you for sharing this with us Sandee! <3
She is most gifted. She did this just before Little Bit passed. It is a treasured piece of art. 🙂
Yes you are very blessed to have a dear friend that used her gift to bless you! 😀
Hugs to you, i know you still miss your precious canine family member.
We do indeed, J. She was the very best. 🙂
That painting really goes right to the heart. So beautiful – thank you for sharing.
Thank you for hosting this bittersweet remembrance day. 🙂
Sincere condolences, Sandee! 💔 Your friend painted a beautiful portrait. Losing a furry loved one is just as heartbreaking as any other and the void just as deep. Our Dalmatian has been gone 12 years now and we still mourn. She was with us for 15 years. ((HUGS))
We knew we would out live her, but it didn’t make it any easier to let her go. We miss her every single day. 🙂
A lovely remembrance of a special pet.
She was the very best pup we’ve ever had. We miss her so. 🙂
My ‘heart’ dog passed away 17 years ago yesterday; I still think of him…every day. 💔
