It’s Wednesday so that means it’s question time.
It’s time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We’d all like that.
So here’s this weeks question: What is your response to this video? André Rieu – Amazing Grace (Live in Amsterdam)
I will add my thoughts in comments later today.
I liked the hymn very much, beautiful playing! Did not like the orange bow ties but loved those furry hats on the bagpipers. Liked the colorful dresses too! Very well done video! Great way to start my day!
I thought it was the best rendition I've ever heard. 🙂
I thought that was brilliant and very heart warming …great performance y-
Have an amazingtastic day Sandee :-h
I agree Steve. 🙂
Thank you for starting my day with such beauty. I've never heard a bagpipe sound so good!
You are most welcome Christine. 🙂
I like how it built up. Such a beautiful hymn.
It's one of my favorites. 🙂
Outstanding instrumental, but does anyone know or truly understand the lyrics.
I know and understand the lyrics. 🙂
It was beautiful. I find it hard to keep a dry eye when I hear bagpipes even when not associated with a sad event.
Me too Cube, me too. 🙂
That's one of my all-time favorite songs but I'm not a fan of bagpipes. Well done, but not a version of the song I would listen to again.
Mine too and this is the best rendition ever in my book. 🙂
That was fantastic. I loved it. I don't get to hear bagpipes very often. Thanks Sandee and hope you and Zane and Little Bit have an Amazing Day.
Thanks for weighing in Marg. Scritches to all the babies. 🙂
It's a lovely hymn and every time I hear it I feel like I'm at a funeral especially of those in uniform. To me this hymn show respect for the person. I also feel at ease listening to it. That's it. Have a wonderful Wednesday Sandee. See ya.
Cruisin Paul
It's a great assessment Paul. Your opinion means a lot to me. 🙂
I am quite familiar with him and love him! Happy Wednesday! xoxo
Me too Caren, me too. 🙂
This song gives me cold chills!!! Beautiful!!!
Have a great week and Happy Easter!!
Karren

Me too Karren. I just love this rendition. 🙂
The Wi-Fi in this Corner Bakery is not up to snuff, won't play. That said, just the thought of that song resonates with many of us — inspiring and humbling at the same time.
Sorry you didn't get to hear it. It was very well done. 🙂
Sandee thanks for this lovely video. Amazing Grace is a song that has been sung at funerals and weddings of our family and dear friends. My dearest friend Amy sang it at Russell's and my wedding . It never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
Have a wonderful day!
It does the same to me Kathe. 🙂
melody flows in this beautiful video.
have a great day!
It sure does. 🙂
Beautiful. This hymn never grows old to me.
Me either. I've lost count how many times I've listened to this video. 🙂
That's a beautiful version of this classic hymn, Sandee! The lyrics always inspire great feelings of hope. But even without hearing them sung, the melody and played in this video still has the same effect. Thank you! I hope you have a truly wonderful day! 🙂
Very well said Marcia. Very well said. You have a wonderful day too. 🙂
How sweet the sound…Love it!
Me to Joe. Love, love love it. 🙂
Beautiful music!
I have always liked bagpipes!
xoxo
I too have always liked bagpipes. 🙂
It was a beautiful performance but for me although I
You cute yourself off. Gibbs probably did something. 🙂
oops don't know how I managed to publish that before I was done. Any way. having some hearing problems I found it distracting to have the bagpipes playing along with the violins. For me they didn't blend well together. I'm sure to someone who hears well it sounded much more appealing
To each his own Ann. We can't all love the same things. 🙂
I thought it was pretty good. I hear a lot of his music on the radio.
I love his music. 🙂
Love, just love the sound of bagpipes. Simply great!
Yes, simply great sizes it up nicely. 🙂
Beautiful song. Amazing Grace is a song that always makes me feel sad…I think because it's played at funerals? My stepdad took us to a concert that his British friend's son was playing in here in the States. It was two hours of bagpipes. Two hours of bagpipes will make you realize just how annoying bagpipes can be.
I love bagpipes, but not two hours worth. That would grate on my very last nerve. 🙂
Outstanding! So would love to be sitting in the audience. We both love this old hymn, and just sang it in church a couple of weeks ago. Dick asked me several years ago to include this in his Celebration of Life service. Of course!
You are such a joy, Sandee. Big hugs, honey…
I would love to be in the audience too. I'd be crying I'm sure. 🙂
They did a good job. I'd love to see it in person.
I would love to see this in person too. They are all so talented. 🙂
Just one response?
1. Very pretty playing.
2. Mrs. Jim knew who he was without reading, but wasn't sure about the spelling.
3. I would have liked a singer to go along with at least a part of it.
4. The cheapest seat may be $90, or even higher..
:-h
His music is very distinctive isn't it. I just love him. I would have loved to have been there. I'd pay gladly. 🙂
my all time favorite hymn but i prefer a vocal. this was very nice though.
hugs honey!

Everyone has their own sounds they enjoy. This one just was the very best to me. 🙂
Loved it. I dunno how people reckon bagpipes are annoying. I love them when well played. It did seem odd the way the woman was dressed to play the bagpipes though. Guess I'm used to seeing people play them in the traditional Scottish dress.
I love the bagpipes, but not for long. They can wear on your last never if it's too long. Way loud. 🙂
