Wednesdays Question

questionIt’s Wednesday so that means it’s question time.

It’s time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We’d all like that.

So here’s this weeks question: What is your response to this video? André Rieu – Amazing Grace (Live in Amsterdam)

I will add my thoughts in comments later today.

I liked the hymn very much, beautiful playing! Did not like the orange bow ties but loved those furry hats on the bagpipers. Liked the colorful dresses too! Very well done video! Great way to start my day!

  2. Marg says:

That was fantastic. I loved it. I don't get to hear bagpipes very often. Thanks Sandee and hope you and Zane and Little Bit have an Amazing Day.

  3. Paul Pietrangelo says:

It's a lovely hymn and every time I hear it I feel like I'm at a funeral especially of those in uniform. To me this hymn show respect for the person. I also feel at ease listening to it. That's it. Have a wonderful Wednesday Sandee. See ya.

The Wi-Fi in this Corner Bakery is not up to snuff, won't play. That said, just the thought of that song resonates with many of us — inspiring and humbling at the same time.

Sandee thanks for this lovely video. Amazing Grace is a song that has been sung at funerals and weddings of our family and dear friends. My dearest friend Amy sang it at Russell's and my wedding . It never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
    Have a wonderful day!

  6. Marcia Shaw Wyatt says:

That's a beautiful version of this classic hymn, Sandee! The lyrics always inspire great feelings of hope. But even without hearing them sung, the melody and played in this video still has the same effect. Thank you! I hope you have a truly wonderful day! 🙂

oops don't know how I managed to publish that before I was done. Any way. having some hearing problems I found it distracting to have the bagpipes playing along with the violins. For me they didn't blend well together. I'm sure to someone who hears well it sounded much more appealing

Beautiful song. Amazing Grace is a song that always makes me feel sad…I think because it's played at funerals? My stepdad took us to a concert that his British friend's son was playing in here in the States. It was two hours of bagpipes. Two hours of bagpipes will make you realize just how annoying bagpipes can be.

  9. Traveling Bells says:

Outstanding! So would love to be sitting in the audience. We both love this old hymn, and just sang it in church a couple of weeks ago. Dick asked me several years ago to include this in his Celebration of Life service. Of course!

You are such a joy, Sandee. Big hugs, honey…

    Just one response?
    1. Very pretty playing.
    2. Mrs. Jim knew who he was without reading, but wasn't sure about the spelling.
    3. I would have liked a singer to go along with at least a part of it.
    4. The cheapest seat may be $90, or even higher..

  11. Tony McGurk says:

Loved it. I dunno how people reckon bagpipes are annoying. I love them when well played. It did seem odd the way the woman was dressed to play the bagpipes though. Guess I'm used to seeing people play them in the traditional Scottish dress.
