Wednesdays Question

question It’s Wednesday so that means it’s question time. It’s time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We’d all like that.

Here’s this weeks question: If you could pick a book you’ve read to make into a movie, which one would you choose?

I know Tom Cruise did one Jack Reacher movie, but I’d like to see every single Jack Reacher book made into a movie. This time find a hunk that’s the same height and weight of Jack Reacher.

Reacher is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 220-250 pounds of muscle and has a 50 inch chest; he has a very high stamina and virtually no body fat, though he is not a good runner (High Heat). In Never Go Back, he was physically described as having “a six-pack like a cobbled city street, a chest like a suit of NFL armor, biceps like basketballs, and subcutaneous fat like a Kleenex tissue.” In his youth, his physical appearance was described as that of a greyhound. He also reveals that his size is purely genetic; he states in Persuader and Never Go Back that he is not much of an exercise enthusiast. He has dirty-blond hair and ice-blue eyes. Source: Wikipedia

Make Me is the upcoming book in the Jack Reacher series written by Lee Child. The novel will be the twentieth book in the series. It is tentatively scheduled for release on September 8, 2015.

The one book I've read that I absolutely was giddy about when I heard they were making it into a movie was…. Lord of the Rings. The Hobbit and LotR are my favorite books.

Yeah, I'm such a romantic. hahahahahaha!

    big hugs xoxo

That is a good question. I haven't read any books lately except a great book by a gal that was sexually abused as a child and she has turned to animals. She saves all kinds of animals and it is well written etc. but don't know if it would make a good movie. For any animal people, it is 'No Better Medicine'. Sandee, you have a great day along with Zane and Little Bit.

Most of what i read isn't the kind of stuff that gets made into movies. Unless it's really bad adaptations of Bible stories. (Do not ever let Hollywood tell you what the Bible says, they get it wrong.)

Since we aren't movie folks, I don't think about that leap when reading, but I am in agreement on anither Jack Reacher movie…minus that Cruise imposter. Sheesh. Who cast him?!

    Big hugs, honey…

Tom Cruise is not Jack Reacher. Those would make awesome movies. I'm a huge fan of the Agent Pendergast books by Lincoln and Childs. However part of me doesn't want them to be movies because they'll screw them up. Then there's the Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva… If there was one movie/book, I'll say THE EIGHT by Katharine Neville. Freaking awesome book. If done well, would make a freaking awesome mini-series.

The guy who played Thor is closer to Reacher than tiny Tom Cruise. As for my choice for a book made into a movie… Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. It would never happen because the book is too complex for a screenplay to do it justice. Maybe a long mini series…

"The Storied Life of A.J.Fickry" written by Gabrielle Zevin I thoroughly enjoyed this!
Or else the fabulous book "The Boys in the Boat" by Daniel Brown
ps LOVE Reacher …I've read them all! Can't wait for the next one! Big hugs- great question!

Easy!!! Six Years by Harlan Coben. One of my favorite books of recent years. Hugh Jackman was cast in 2013 and the movie seemed like it was going forward…then nothing. There was also 13 Reasons Why–an awesome book–that was being made into a movie starring Selena Gomez. Also stalled. 🙁

You know what? Normally I could answer this, but it is almost 11pm. I read sooooooooooo many books that they are all swimming around in my head right now.
Keep meaning to tell you, I LOVE the new look of your blog! xoxo

You picked Arnold in his prime as a body builder for your Jack Reacher character.
I'm just not a bookworm so I think most of the movies I've seen were based on books, even if they were comic books. Took the grandson to see Ant Man today. Much better than I expected.

Blood Line, Blood Bonds and Blood Roots – a three book series that would be a fantastic, albeit creepy movie. This was the first to come to my mind, but now that I am typing, I am thinking Pop Travel by Tara Tyler.

I love the Stephanie Plum series from Janet Evanovich. They tried to make a movie and it was terrible. So I would like to see them try that again, but with better casting. Another that I think was already a movie was Tuesdays with Morrie and Fried Green Tomatoes. So apparently all my choices are already taken! hahaha.
