Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for my husband who I share my life with. Our history goes way back to the early 70s. We were each married to different people. Our journey to where we are now is a long and very precious memory.

I’m thankful that I’ve had the pleasure of spending another year on this beautiful planet. We’ve had a fun year filled with lots of boating and yacht club events.

I’m thankful that tomorrow we open the gift of a brand new year and all the positive things we can do with that gift. I chose to do happy things.

I’m thankful for my great granddaughter. She makes me realize how long I’ve enjoyed life.

I’m thankful for my health. I know at some point there will be issues, but for now I feel fabulous.

What are you thankful for today?

As always, the things I value most cannot be bought and I value them the most; my family, my friends and my health.

And when I think of being grateful, I usually remember this piece….

“If you can read this message…” Had a long, hard day? Here’s some perspective.

“If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world.

If you have money in the bank, your wallet, and some spare change you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million people who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the agony of imprisonment or torture, or the horrible pangs of starvation you are luckier than 500 million people alive and suffering.

If you can read this message you are more fortunate than 3 billion people in the world who cannot read it at all.”

Happy Sweet 2016!, my friend. big hugs xoxo

I was reminded when I woke up feeling puny with a head cold this morning that my situation is very minor in the scheme of things. I am grateful for good health, good family, friends, and freedom.

Happy and healthy 2016 to you and Zane.

    Big hugs, honey…
