Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for all the kind comments about hubbies surgery on Tuesdays post. Hubby loved them too and read each and every comment. Thank you everyone.

I’m thankful that our granddaughter was offered a full time position as a pharmacy technician at the hospital she’s been working part time for for so very long. She’s over the moon happy. We’re so proud of her for hanging in there and not giving up.

I’m thankful that that our taxes are paid for this quarter. I’m not happy about how much we’re paying this year compared to last year, but you either pay or go to federal prison. I think I’d rather live here.

I’m thankful that our Little Bit was protected from all harm when in our care. While we headed to our boat last Friday there were two dogs on the freeway. Two of us stopped and one didn’t. The horrific sight of that dog being hit and catapulting across the freeway will remain with me for years. The dog didn’t make a sound when it was hit, so it died instantly. We are happy about that, but the rest of our day was most stressful. The other dog? I don’t know, we got out of the way because of all the traffic behind us. I don’t have much hope for that dog because he/she was in the fast lane. It was far to dangerous for us to try to save the remaining dog.

I’m thankful that hubby and I have the mindset to bring precious dogs and cats (when we find them unattended) to the SPCA instead of dumping them along the side of the road. I’ve a feeling that these two were dumped on the freeway. May their karma be as fitting as what they did to these precious babies.

I’m thankful that tomorrow is hubby and my 16th wedding anniversary. It’s been the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. Marrying hubby that is.

What are you thankful for today?

Aww, Hapoy Anniversary tomorrow. I'm smiling because I know first hand how happy you two are together. I am thankful that hubby and I are still in love as we approach #48 this summer. I was 12 when we married. HA! So glad Zane is doing well. Love you both!

    Big hugs, honey…

Oh that dog story so sad. I came upon a dog this week that had been hit and was on the side of the road. It made me so very sad. I don't like to know that any animal would go that way. Out here where we live we don't see many strays, unfortunately the coyotes take care of that, but if I did you can bet I would do the same thing.

    Congratulations to your granddaughter!

I am thankful for the grandcrew and the fact that they live in the same town as us. We get to see them often. In fact, the grandson and I are building a Pinewood Derby car for a race on Sunday. Nothing quite like a little bonding time between Papa and "The Big Guy".

I'm thankful there are more people like you who care about stray dogs than there are those who dump dogs where their lives and many others are put in danger.

Sarah is so happy. She's been working part time for several years now and she's so excited to get a full time job with benefits.

Thanks for the happy anniversary wishes. 🙂

  9. Kismet says:

Taxes are voluntarily paid, according to some. Try not paying and you'll be volunteering in the prison kitchen. Hopefully you'd be making the food for those who abandoned those dogs.

    • Comedy Plus says:

Taxes are NOT voluntary. They are mandatory. Don't pay them and see what happens. Well unless your a crook and they can get away with not paying them. There is one that visits the white house often that owes millions in taxes. 🙂

Oh no! Poor dogs! What an awful thing to witness. I would never be able to get that out of my head. I'm sorry you had to see it. 🙁 On a much better note, congratulations to your granddaughter! That's wonderful! Glad Zane is home and recovering! Happy Anniversary too!

Notice I didn't say anything about taxes! 🙂 Hee hee! Hope you have a wonderful day!

    • Comedy Plus says:

I wish we could get that our of our heads, but I fear that's not going to happen any time soon.

Yes, I noticed you didn't say anything about taxes and I'm happy about that. 🙂

It's so sad when an animal gets hit. It's bad enough when a wild animal runs in the road, it is worse when it is because of people putting domestic animals in danger. Ugh!

Today i am thankful for a few minutes between jobs to read!

  12. Ann says:

oh that is so sad about the dog and I can't imagine how horrible that had to be to watch it.
congrats to your granddaughter on her full time position.

  13. Stephanie Faris says:

Oh gosh–the dog story is awful. I can't imagine seeing that. I'm so sorry! The images do fade over time. As for taxes…we owed a scary amount and then I had to turn around and pay my quarterly taxes in mid-April. How nice of them to put both of those deadlines together for those of us who are self-employed!

  14. Jim says:

I am glad that Hubbie's surgery went well. I will peek in on the Tuesday post. Dogs and freeways and tollways don't mix. About all a person can do is call 911 as most places the get hung up in aren't very safe to stop. A large bird flew into me one evening. It was in turbulance of the truck beside me and was drafted into the side of our car, not pretty. I won't forget.
Glad too that your daughter found a full time job. Sounds like one she will like having.
    :-h

  15. Kathe W. says:

oh how very awful- we are always bewildered and upset when we see dead animals on the road as if the person could not be bothered to stop and or slow down. Horrific image- and again I don't understand people who don't care for all living beings just as they hopefully care for their family members.
On a more positive note- YAY for your niece and we are glad Zane is doing well. Finally HAPPY 16TH ANNIVERSARY! XOXO

  16. LAC says:

Happy anniversary! Hope it's a fun day of just being together.
So heartbreaking to witness that poor pup crossing the bridge. I hope you can put it out of your mind soon. Have a great weekend!

  17. Debbie Roberts - Debs Random Writings says:

Hi Sandee, it makes me so cross when people dump there pets like rubbish. We see it a lot over here and it never doesn't affect me. I'm glad the dog died quickly, but as for the other one? Fingers crossed it got to safety and got picked up… I hope that Karma does turn bite the dumpers on the bum!

A big congratulations on sixteen years of marriage, and may you have many more!

    xx
