Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful that hubby and I got to visit Columbia River Yacht Club. This club was beautiful with an exceptional view. We also got to take a boat ride on the Columbia River. It was most enjoyable.

Our tour captain has a boathouse, and inside the boathouse is his 61′ Navigator Yacht, named New Shoes. It was beautiful. To have a boathouse here you must be a member of Columbia River Yacht Club. He has all the whistles and bells in this boathouse. There is an apartment upstairs and many other niceties downstairs.

This is us vacating the boathouse. Most impressive. He sterned this huge boat right back into his slip with ease. A great skipper.

This is a shot from the stern of his yacht. It did rain a couple of times, but we were inside and dry.

This is one of many beautiful homes we passed as we made our way around the island.

Their clubhouse is huge and well taken care of. They can throw a party here for many to enjoy and they do. What a great group of folks.

I’m thankful that we had a lovely two hour ride on a beautiful yacht and had a delicious dinner at their yacht club. If you’re going to a boating conference there should be at least some yacht clubs and some boat rides to enjoy. Hubby and I can now say we’ve cruised on the Columbia River in a fabulous yacht.

What are you thankful for today?

Wow, what a great experience. Gorgeous boat and looks like a great tour. What fun to see all that.
We are just thankful to be on this side of dirt. And as usual, we are so thankful for all of our blogging friends.

Some yacht, WOW! I would love to be on that one. Well I would love to be on any yacht. I would love be to be just resting on any yacht and swim and fish and do whatever anyone does on a yacht. I'm very happy for the two of you.
Have a yachting Thursday Sandee & Zane. See ya.

I saw a yacht on a reality show that had a washer and dryer inside. I thought, "How NICE!" I could just live in there. Do you stay in your boat overnight? Is there a way to protect against crime or is that even a possibility?

We've stayed on our boat for two weeks at a time. We do not have a washer and dryer on our boat though because it's too small.

We lock things up and don't leave things laying around. We've not had a problem so far, but there is security at our marina. 🙂

Wow what a beautiful setting!!!! I have always wondered if I would get seasick on a bigger boat… especially in the ocean. It would be fun to try if we kept somewhat close to shore "just in case."

I am thankful for… hair dye to cover my gray!
