I’m thankful that hubby and I got to visit Columbia River Yacht Club. This club was beautiful with an exceptional view. We also got to take a boat ride on the Columbia River. It was most enjoyable.
Our tour captain has a boathouse, and inside the boathouse is his 61′ Navigator Yacht, named New Shoes. It was beautiful. To have a boathouse here you must be a member of Columbia River Yacht Club. He has all the whistles and bells in this boathouse. There is an apartment upstairs and many other niceties downstairs.
This is us vacating the boathouse. Most impressive. He sterned this huge boat right back into his slip with ease. A great skipper.
This is a shot from the stern of his yacht. It did rain a couple of times, but we were inside and dry.
This is one of many beautiful homes we passed as we made our way around the island.
Their clubhouse is huge and well taken care of. They can throw a party here for many to enjoy and they do. What a great group of folks.
I’m thankful that we had a lovely two hour ride on a beautiful yacht and had a delicious dinner at their yacht club. If you’re going to a boating conference there should be at least some yacht clubs and some boat rides to enjoy. Hubby and I can now say we’ve cruised on the Columbia River in a fabulous yacht.
What are you thankful for today?

That's a pretty awesome looking boathouse not to mention the yacht. I think I could get used to living like that 🙂
That had to be the very best outing we had all week. It was fabulous. 🙂
What an experience indeed! And def. one to be thankful for as well. 🙂
It was an experience indeed. Not the biggest yacht I've been on, but right up there. 🙂
Such a lovely place! Right now i am thankful for coffee.
In the morning I'm always thankful for coffee. 🙂
Wow, what a great experience. Gorgeous boat and looks like a great tour. What fun to see all that.
We are just thankful to be on this side of dirt. And as usual, we are so thankful for all of our blogging friends.
It was the highlight of being in Portland Marg. 🙂
What a wonderful cruise you had on the Columbia River and the boat house is beautiful. Today I am thankful for the people around me and also for yummy durians!
I know you love your durians. Enjoy. 🙂
Life is good, it must be really good to also be loaded.
We could not keep up with them ever. They have WAY more money that we'll ever have. He was the nicest guy though. 🙂
Wow that boat house and yacht are impressive and that lovely green surrounding that home.So lovely! I am jealous 🙂
It rains a lot up there so things are green. Green and more green. 🙂
Wow – how neat to have a boathouse with an apartment above it! Someone mentioned that they're thankful for coffee – I second that 🙂
I'll third that coffee. 🙂
Wow! That is one heck of a boat! Sounds like you had a great day!
We did, we got to see how the very wealthy enjoy boating. Way different than us. 🙂
Boat appears to be superb with super shots.
Have a great day!
The yacht was spotless. Very impress vessel. 🙂
Some yacht, WOW! I would love to be on that one. Well I would love to be on any yacht. I would love be to be just resting on any yacht and swim and fish and do whatever anyone does on a yacht. I'm very happy for the two of you.
Have a yachting Thursday Sandee & Zane. See ya.
Cruisin Paul
It would have been great if you and Mary Lou could have been there too. 🙂
What a lovely experience. Today i am thankful for air conditioning and fossil fuels.
Me too. In the summer that air conditioner is my best friend. 🙂
How fab was that i thoroughly enjoyed this post Sandee a lovely boat too
Have a sailtastic day Sandee :d
I'm glad you did Steve. It was a most delightful experience. 🙂
Water? Do I look like a duck?
(you've never heard of an Oregon duck?)
I've heard of the Oregon Ducks. Yes I have and I know that you're not a duck. 🙂
Beautiful yacht and boathouse! What a wonderful opportunity you had to visit them and take a ride on the Columbia!
It was a wonderful opportunity that hubby and I had no intention of missing. 🙂
wowee- what a great time you must have had- these photos are great! hugs to you and Zane!
It was almost as fun as meeting you, Russell and Miss Lucy and Sharla, her hubby and Angel and Isabella. Almost. 🙂
Beautiful experience, wow!
It was indeed. 🙂
I saw a yacht on a reality show that had a washer and dryer inside. I thought, "How NICE!" I could just live in there. Do you stay in your boat overnight? Is there a way to protect against crime or is that even a possibility?
We've stayed on our boat for two weeks at a time. We do not have a washer and dryer on our boat though because it's too small.
We lock things up and don't leave things laying around. We've not had a problem so far, but there is security at our marina. 🙂
Oh my that home is to die for!!! xoxoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
I wonder what their home on land looks like. I'll bet it's most beautiful. 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful time.
We did, it was our favorite thing we did in Portland. 🙂
Wow what a beautiful setting!!!! I have always wondered if I would get seasick on a bigger boat… especially in the ocean. It would be fun to try if we kept somewhat close to shore "just in case."
I am thankful for… hair dye to cover my gray!
It was fun. Getting seasick happens on any water, but especially on the ocean. 🙂
I hve never been inside a boat house before. The photoes looks great☺
It was the first boathouse for me too. The weather there makes a boathouse the right thing to have. 🙂
That's quite the boat house. Sounds like you had a good time.
We did Rhonda. It was most fun. 🙂
That looks like some yacht and boathouse!
It was Binky. We sure couldn't afford all that. Wow. 🙂
