Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for my husband that is always making sure I’m happy and have what I need. How I got so lucky I’ll never know, but I did and I thank my lucky stars everyday for such a wonderful person to share my life with.

I’m thankful that I live in a free country. There is much turmoil around the globe but what we experience here is very little compared to other parts of the world.

I’m thankful for our law enforcement officers. Having spent 25 years in uniform I know how difficult the job can be. I know that for the most part you are dealing with the worst of the worst. Without law enforcement there would be anarchy. I never want to see that.

I’m thankful that I have a roof over my head and a warm place to sleep at night. I’m thankful that I have food to eat and do not have to go hungry as many do every single day around the world.

I’m thankful that I live a wonderful life. It’s not been easy at times, but I never give up. I just dust myself off and move forward.

I’m thankful every morning when I wake up to a new day and new possibilities. Life is so wonderful we just need to take the time to look at all the wonders around us.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful that I still remember to BE thankful, realizing that so many don't have food in their bellies, clothes to wear or a roof over their heads. There sure seems to be a bunch of the new generation who have never been thankful for anything; they just want more more more.

    big hugs xoxo

Now those are some mighty good things to be thankful for. We are so thankful for a roof over our heads and for food to eat for the Mom and all the kitties and the donkeys. They all make me smile and I am very thankful that they all found me. Sandee, you and Zane have a great day.

A good marriage is something to truly to be thankful for. Like you, I have found the perfect mate. She is more than willing to put up with someone who is far from perfect and seems to enjoy the challenge of living with me and my quirks.

What a wonderful and full list you have, Sandee. I am thankful for all of the same things that you are, except that my husband is gone but I am still thankful he was in my life.

I am thankful for so many things- my husband , our children and all our friends and family come first. A close second is the wonderful country we live in. It's not perfect, but so much better than so many other countries. Count your blessings!

  6. Traveling Bells says:

Amen to that list. I will add safe drinking water. So many countries don't even have that, and so many children die as a result. Yes, we are mighty blessed.

Big hugs from balmy W Palm Beach, honey…

I love this post, Sandee. I'm grateful for my talented kind son, a roof over my head, my health, wonderful friends like you, and of course, Simon. :)))

    Happy a happy day!

I spent 25 years at the Sheriff's Department. Went from Deputy to Sergeant and then Lieutenant. I loved every minute. I would hate it now. Things are so different. 🙂

I'm thankful for my hubby being my soul mate too! He makes me happy every day – well, most days! LOL! I'm thankful Isabella is all better and that Angel is my little velcro kitty. I'm also thankful to finally be done with Christmas presents and only need to mail them!

Happy Thankful Thursday Sandee! Hugs to you!

    Much to be thankful for.

I'm thankful that after your having spent 25 years in uniform, I never had to smell that uniform!

However, thanks for your service, it is a tough dangerous job.

I like your list. I too am thankful for my husband and our life together. I didn't know you were in law enforcement. I just wrote a thankful post and today I am most thankful for a highway patrolman. I appreciate all you did on the job too. I often think it's such a thankless job that so many would give it up for something else. And then where would we be?

I think I would like to borrow a lot of the same things that you are thankful for. It was a good reminder to be thankful for the things I take for granted. I am also thankful for my pets! 🙂

Nice list, Sandee. I like the order you put them in also.
My list would be similar to yours, Mrs. Jim would be on top.
I am also glad to be able to retire with enough funds so far to have as an interesting 15 years retired life as my working life was interesting.
    (Elgin Watch factory – 3 yrs / U.S. Army – 5 yrs/ Aerospace Engineer [Air Force Spy Satellite Tracking & NASA mission Control] – 17 years/ College Business Professor -22 yrs )

What a beautiful post! After a tiring day at work, I enjoyed reading your cheerful words.

I'm thankful for my husband too. We found each other late, but at least we're together now. Feeding outdoor critters has helped me better appreciate the warm and safe home I have. Every morning, I try to remember to thank God for being alive and healthy and happy for another day. Life is good, isn't it?

Remembering to stop and look at the wonders around us is SO important, yet somehow so often forgotten. I'm glad there are so many things in your life which you have to be happy, thankful, and delighted about.

It is so important to remember the everyday things – someone who makes us laugh, a roof over our heads. These are so important to remember always. Have a great week!
