Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful that our boat is now at the shop for its final face lift. We dropped her off last Monday around noon. She’ll be there for four to six weeks and when we get her back she’ll be looking brand new in many places.

So here’s the before pictures of the boat right before hubby took her to the shop. First we’ll start with the canvas. This canvas has been on the boat for almost 15 years. We’ve taken the best care we can but winter dampness and the heat of the summer eventually take their toll.
When we get her back there will be black canvas instead of the tan.

The cockpit is where we spend a lot of our time during the day and evenings. We are considered the party boat and there are times that there are more people than places to sit. Again this seating is 15 years old and it’s showing.
When we get her back the seat will wrap completely around to allow for several more people to sit where that empty space currently resides. This will make a huge difference in how the seating will look.

Below is the helm seating and I’m not sure how it will shake out, but it will match the seating I just talked about. This is where hubby and I spend most of our time while underway. Sometimes he drives and sometimes I do.
The next two shots are below deck. The first one is the portholes. There are four of them and they will have blinds when we get her back. It will be nice to have something that I can open during the day and close during the night. We’ve not had that option before. There used to be curtains and they were awful. The second shot is an empty hole that used to house an analog television. Hubby took it out and when they are finished with this it will be a cabinet for storage and our wine and champagne glasses. They will hang from a wine glass rack. This will clear up a lot of space that those currently take up.
The last thing of any importance is the new flat screen television that will be placed on the bulkhead. That’s the space between the door and the closet door with the mirror. Not that we watch television very much, but now and then when we’re gone for a long period of time it’s nice to watch the news.
I am so thankful that we are able to do this. It gives our baby a new lease on life.

So what are you most thankful for today?

Oh my, 4-6 weeks without your boat? Aren't you going to go through withdrawal? 🙂
Seriously though, this has got to be exciting sending her off for a facelift. I can't wait to see the after pictures

It's always fun to redecorate and/or restore something. Can't wait to see the after shots.

I am thankful that so far we haven't had enough snow to keep me home or trap me within.

Wow! Sounds like you're going to have a great boat when it comes back! The changes don't seem huge, but they will make things so much better for you!
How will you be without the boat for over a month? Or do you not usually take it out this time of year?

We boat year around, but the winter is when we do the work. There are so many cruises and activities in the good weather months and we have more good weather months than bad. Now's the time to do work on boats. 🙂

Can't wait to see the results. I am thankful that we are going to get to go see the grandchildren for Christmas. Only 2 days, but that is enough time for lots of hugs. Have a great afternoon. `Sandy~

So exciting! Thanks for sharing. Cannot wait to see the results and to hear about all the new adventures next year with your Sea Ray Version 2.0 🙂

It is a pretty boat. It will be even prettier when we get it back. Sometimes we are in the boat for hours getting from one place to another. It's a must to switch off now and then. 🙂
