It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
Today I’m thankful for my home. It is a peaceful place. Hubby and I both came from homes filled with conflict. We don’t allow conflict here.
I’m thankful I have a place to sleep each night. Living in California there are homeless camps all over the place. No matter where you drive you’ll find tents and trash.
I’m thankful hubby and I are physically able to do the things we want to do. It is such a blessing.
What are you thankful for today?
It’s wonderful to have a peaceful place to call home. I’m blessed to have such a place.
I’m happy you have that, Ann. You so deserve it. 🙂
We had wild rain and winds here last night. We are so thankful not to have lost our power and thankful to have a roof over our heads to keep us warm and dry and safe.
Good for you, Molly. It’s good to be warm and dry isn’t it. 🙂
Safe, peaceful homes can often be taken for granted, so I’m also incredibly thankful for this ♥ xx
I never take our peaceful home for granted. Not when I’ve lived in more than one war zone. 🙂
We always love what you have to say because we can tell you are truly happy in your life right now. That is something to be thankful for. Living in CA can be rough, so you are lucky.
We are truly happy in our life. It took years, but we managed to find that peace with each other. 🙂
Thankful for peace in our homes and in our hearts. Learning to be thankful over small things.
Yes on both and we have both here too as you do, Nancy. 🙂
Wonderful things to be thankful for. It is sad that there are so many homeless in this country. I don’t see as many in Mass. because of the cold winters. I know there are some in cities though.
Yes, there are miles of homeless in some cities. It’s most sad. 🙂
Home and love are are best thankfuls ever!!! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Yes they are. Thank you for hosting the fun. 🙂
You know, I sorta think of The ‘O’ Cats are homeless people! Which is why I stress so much to want them to come inside, but they really don’t want to. I’ll keep trying, but it’s MY problem, not theirs. Homeless people have no simply, quick cure; there are many, many reasons why they are out there. It’s complicated, and we as a nation need to step up our game, show kindness, and strive to help them.
They are, but when they have folks like you to look after them they aren’t really homeless. They know you’re there for them. 🙂
A safe haven is a port in any storm. Nice to have one and glad you two do.
I’m happy that you, Seymour and Element have a safe haven too. 🙂
The quiet of my home is a blessing I am forever grateful
Me too, Paul, me too. 🙂
There’s too much conflict in the world and we certainly don’t need it at home. Happy Thursday!
You are right about that, Eugenia. Spot on in fact. 🙂
So much to be thankful for!
I’ve not been to California but I do feel sad for those without homes. Even in my own back yard, I know many who struggle to even keep a roof over their heads. Years ago, we lost our home to foreclosure, but even during that time we were never without a safe place to rest our heads each night.
I’m glad you didn’t feel what many do. It’s hard to lose your home and many have. I’m glad you’re safe. 🙂
The state of California is so sad. And drug companies are a big cause from what I understand. Disturbed folks were lured out for medicinal psych studies and then dumped when the money dried up. Ugh… So glad you and hubby are content and well!
Yes this state is the blueprint on how not to do things. No one seems to care either. 🙂
Sandee
I second all of your thankfulness.
Camping:
When my daughter was in Jr. Scouts they were going to Camp Mary Atkinson to spend the night..in rustic cabins. She was excited until she found out they would all be digging their ‘facilities’ in the ground.
I’m very thankful for indoor plumbing. LOL
Cecilia
I’m thankful for indoor plumbing too, but I’ve dug mine so I’m well aware of the process. 🙂
We love our home too.
Home is where the heart is. Well at least it should be. 🙂
Ok this is so shallow but I am thankful I got 3 inches cut off the back of my hair yesterday (it was CRAZY long)………and took a tiny bit off the sides……….I look much neater………I had cancelled appointments twice before this one and am so happy I finally went! Happy Thursday! xoxoxo
It good to be thankful for whatever you’re thankful for. It changes each day and that’s a good thing. Happy Thursday to you too. 🙂
Glad to know life is treating you well, Sandee. How sad about the homeless situation in California. Home, hubby and (mostly) good health are big on my gratitude list also. Happy Thursday!
Yes, we are all so fortunate. Many are not. 🙂
We also live in California and it is heartbreaking to see so many living in tents or worse.
Yes it is. We are the biggest welfare state in the union and there are more homeless here than any other state. 🙂
Love your thankful post and you are so blessed ~ Xox from Zoe and me ^_^
Happy Day to You,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
I know it too, Carol. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂
Oh yes all of us have so much to be thankful for with a roof over our heads…..and you and Zane are so blessed to be together. Lots of hugs and kisses- thanks for the healing thoughts being sent to Russell-!!! xoxoxo
Yes we are as you and Russell are blessed. We are a couple of lucky gals. Prayers continue for Russell, you and Nurse Lucy. 🙂
What wonderful thankfuls! Our home is similar, both from conflict filled homes and we do not allow conflict in our home, it makes home a true sanctuary, doesn’t it? Okay, there is the occasional wappy-paw, but only feline, never human – MOL!
A war zone when I was growing up. I thought it was normal. I was so wrong. Hated it. 🙂
Today – my bible study group of women.
Good for you. Do what you love. 🙂
It is such a blessing to have a peaceful home, and a safe place to be. I am thankful for that as well. ♥
Yes it is after years of not having that. 🙂
Thankful for another day to enjoy God’s abundant blessings!
Amen to that, Bette. 🙂
I sure love a great place to sleep and a good home. 🏡🤗((Hugs))
Yes, we are most fortunate, Michelle. We have so much. 🙂
Sandee, you have terrific thankfuls this week. Every city has homeless people, but the numbers in California are staggering. It makes me sad whenever I think about it or see photos. Kitty kisses from Cooper Murphy and Sawyer and hugs from me. Janet
California used to be such a wonderful state. It isn’t anymore. I’m to old to leave and my family is here. if I were young I’d be gone. Kisses to all the kitties and a big hug to you. 🙂
We noticed that when we visited LA this year about the camps, they were everywhere! It was the same in Paris though too. It breaks my heart that there are so many people displaced for whatever reason.
Because of this I too am grateful for what I have. Thanks my friend for these good reminders.
It’s really bad here. San Francisco is suffering because of all the homeless. Many don’t want to go there anymore and the conventions have all pulled out. 🙂
Precious thankfuls, i am glad you have found serenity.
We have and it took many years to find. Happy weekend. 🙂
