Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful that the weather is far cooler. We’ll still have a lot of nice weather into November, but the triple digit weather is gone. The older I get the harder it is to cope with the heat.

I’m thankful for the pile of books I have to read. Hubby and I gather in our living room each afternoon and read together. Both of us love our books. I can get lost in a good book as I travel to whatever exotic place the book takes me. Books are treasures.

I’m thankful that hubby loves to cook. I’ll gladly do the dishes and do so with a smile. Cooking is okay, but I’d rather do the dishes. Hubby cooks way better than I do.

What are you thankful for today?

We rarely get to triple digit temperatures around here but the higher ones and the humidity get to me. Starting today we’re supposed to have much cooler weather. I’m happy about that.

We are the perfect pair indeed. We always say it’s just the two of us. That means that we come first before anything/anyone else. 🙂

I second pretty much all of your post Sandee 🙂 I’ve never been a hot weather person and this year has been absolutely horrendous. It has felt as though I’ve been a prisoner in the home – not wanting to be out and about in the oppressive temps and humidity. Ugh. I too am extremely grateful for cooler weather!

Like your hubby, mine is also the better cook and enjoys it as well. That is a whole lot to be grateful for!

I hope your day is wonderful, blessed and full of excitement with your favorite book in hand. 🤗

We are both lucky to have husbands that love to cook. It’s a blessing. I always have a pile of books and I never leave the house without taking a book with me. It makes waiting so much easier. 🙂

I do agree about books. I love to read.
My son in law is a fabulous cook too and my daughter is also happy to clean up after a fabulous meal
I hope and pray today is out last triple digit heat index day. They say 97 degrees 100 heat index. If it happens it will be the hottest Oct 3 day in all of the weather record keeping here. I don’t like breaking those kinds of records
    Hugs Cecilia

Books are just the best form of entertainment. Well boating comes first but I always have books to read while boating. 🙂

I’m thankful cooler weather is heading our way. Today, and this past week we have set records for temps in the 90s. I’m very thankful for air conditioning. Happy Thursday!

Ooh ooh OOH! A pile of books, you say! Are you on Goodreads? I love that site, because my friends and I can swap book ideas, and review what we’ve read. I have over 200 books on my ‘to read’ list, but will happily add MORE!

    • Sandee says:

No I’m not on Goodreads, but I’ve heard of them. I’ve seen them on some sidebars too. Books are most wonderful. 🙂

I am thankful for silly things!HAHA….a Lily running fit! A loving lick from the doggies! Being off today after going back on my reg schedule since things are picking up at work….my reg schedule is Monday thru Thurs.. hours a day. Wow, first 3 days wore me out. But I already had plans for something else today so I am off……I love being a part timer that makes up their own schedule….as for conservative clothes…nothing wrong with it. I have always worn what I like, not others. I mainly went for comfort…but the last few yrs I have been venturing out and going with loud, bright pants and colorful shirts!! I don’t care what folks think!! I used to always go to black and dark purple. I head to black in the stores, just calls my name. But when I get to that rack I tell myself to move on to color. However yesterday I did not. I got the leopard pants I needed a long shirt to go with it, I got black. Then I saw a t shirt that said….I am not bossy, I am queen, in black and I got it too. THEN I saw a black dress….and I liked them so much I had to go with them!! haha

    • Sandee says:

I’ve never been one for lots of color in my clothes. It just doesn’t appeal to me, but I so love seeing the colorful clothes of others. 🙂

You’re right, there are so many things to be thankful for and many never seem to notice all the good things in their lives. 🙂

I love books. Unfortunately reading blogs has dipped into my book reading time, but Cat Scouts Book Club keeps me reading. My favorite recent book is Michelle Obama’s. Have you read it? If not, I highly recommend it. Tom also does a lot of the cooking around here.Whoever cooks, the other always cleans up. It’s a good system. Hope your upcoming weekend provides lots of reading time and pleasure. Hugs, Janet

I quit blogging each day in the early afternoon and that leaves time for reading. I don’t want to be on the computer all day long. I also turn my phone off. Me time. I’ve not read that book. I’ve not even heard about that book. I avoid politics as best as I can. 🙂

Our library sells hard cover books for $1. I buy a dozen or so, read (most of) them and then donate them to my neighbor’s free outdoor lending library. I’m grateful for this system since I love reading.

    • Sandee says:

I give all my books away to my girlfriend and she reads what she wants and then passes them on. They go from hand to hand for a very long time. 🙂

Happy Thankful Thursday! Yes, the weather here is much, much cooler today! My kitty isn’t really a fan of it though since she’s got a thinner coat than most other kitties. I’m sure she’ll be happy when it’s cold enough to break out the space heater!

Wise words. It’s still too hot around here for me. Ugh… I’m thankful my kindhearted brother-in-law drove safe to visit overnight and is doing chores (!) with my less handy sweetheart of a husband. Your recent posts are all good. ~grin~ Where have the days gone? Be well, my dear, and hugs to you across the miles.

    • Sandee says:

It’s pretty warm here today, but the hot weather we were supposed to have isn’t going to happen this weekend. 🙂

  11. Dakota/Caren/Cody says:

I’m the cook in our house and I’m a damn good one too! LOL! I am thankful (super thankful) that our weather cooled off too! I LOVE Fall weather! Have a great rest of your day, lots of love! xoxo

    • Sandee says:

Good for you. Cooking is okay, but it’s not my favorite thing to do. Hubby is happy to cook. Lots of love to you and the boys. 🙂

  12. angelswhisper2011 says:

We’re so not ready for the cooler weather, but Granny says it’s only for a few month and than the weather will be wonderful again. I think we are Summer girls…MOL 😀 Is your hubby ready for dinner now…I’m starving😸Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞

    • Sandee says:

I don’t like winter, but I love the rest of the seasons. We don’t have much winter. Spring is the very best of all seasons. Pawkisses for a happy weekend, Little Binky. My best to your peeps. 🙂
