It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week.
Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Today I’m thankful for the warmer weather and the ability to boat more. There is a term boaters use in the winter called ‘boat cold’. You’ve not been cold until you spend a few days on a boat in the winter. Even with heat you still feel cold. It just seeps into everything and everywhere.
I’m thankful that this coming weekend we have another cruise to our home port. We’ll have a huge picnic and get our boats inspected to make sure they are as safe as they can be. Our mantra for boating is safety first.
What are you thankful for today?
That boat cold term makes sense to me. There are times when it’s raining and even though the temperature may be warm it feels cold because it so damp out.
Enjoy your cruise this weekend
You nailed boat cold very well. 🙂
LOL! You should try boating here in the winter which would mean setting your boat on top of the ice on the lake, not moving and freezing! Enjoy your warm boating.
I know of places like that, but not around here. We don’t have to store our boats on land during the winter here. 🙂
I was thinking like Ann. Dampness is miserable. Interesting term. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day!
Anyone that owns a boat knows the term boat cold. You have a blessed day too. 🙂
Yes, the Dad says that boat cold goes right through you but hooray for more warm! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Dad is right about that. He knows about boat cold. Thanks for hosting Thankful Thursday. 🙂
Ohhhh I can only imagine how cold “boat cold” must be. We have lots of humidity in the winter and that is cold enough being on a boat must be 87 xs more cold.
I’m thankful my two favorite young folks are coming for a visit
Hugs Cecilia
You can be cold in other places, but getting on a boat sitting in cold water is mighty cold. Hugs back, my friend. 🙂
Yup, that boat cold does not sound like fun. Glad it is warming up for you. Enjoy that boating and you and Zane have a great day.
We love our cruises, Marg. We always have fun. You have a great day too. 🙂
Never heard that term – learn something new every day. Happy Thursday.! 🙂
When you have a boat you learn a lot of new terms. 🙂
When our power went out a couple of March’s ago, I’m thinking that the cold we experienced would have been ‘boat cold’, even though we aren’t on the water, but it was pretty damp!
Yes, that would be boat cold. I don’t care for boat cold. 🙂
I can relate to “boat cold”. It describes my love life.
You crack me up, Kismet. 🙂
Being the hot house wimp that I am, I could never enjoy boat cold. Have a great April sail.
We love our boat year around. Hot or cold we visit often. 🙂
Brrrrrrrrrr – thinking of being on a boat out on the water this time of year makes us shiver.
It’s going to be warm here this coming weekend, so we’re good. 🙂
I am thankful that you two love birds are going on your Yacht trip today. Please be care and have a wonderful time. Love you bunches honey ❤️
We’re packed and I’m having breakfast. Leaving soon. Love you bunches too. 🙂
Okay Baby Girl, you have just got to take tons of pictures for me. I’m not a boat person, and if I was I would need to see land. I don’t like the thought of all water and no where to go catch my drift? (snicker) Anyway, I’ll tell you what I’m thankful for and that is meeting you. You have restored my faith in mankind for sure. There are still good people out there and baby girl you are one of them. Thank you for being you! You have a great time (you & the Mr.), be careful, be safe, be aware of your surroundings and most of all DON’T WORRY…… BE HAPPY!!! Love you girl~ Gigantic Hugs… don’t forget my pictures… and a full detailed report on this cruise business. I personally just love the sound of it. HAVE TONS OF FUN!!! LOVE U GIRL!!!! HUGS
What a lovely comment, Marie. I love you bunches. You’re a good person too. I’ll try to take pictures. Love you. 🙂
Sounds like a nice way to enjoy the warmer weather! Enjoy!
(And your description of being “boat cold” made me shudder. Must be even worse than a normal winter day).
There is no better way for us to enjoy the warmer weather than boating. It’s our passion. 🙂
Yes, I’m thankful the weather has finally turned warmer. Although Mother Nature did have a hissy fit a couple weekends ago with snow showers. Annnndddd……..our lows are dipping back into the 30s until Monday. But other than that, the days have been gloriously warm and I’ve thrown open the windows for the past few days. xoxoxo
It’s a bit windy today, but it’s warm. I’m wearing a short sleeve shirt. Heaven. 🙂
I’m happy it’s a nice day, even if it is a bit cooler. Yesterday was hot, and so windy the sand blew turning the sky brown. So, yay for the calm breeze today.
Happy Thursday & happy cruising! <3
All the boats are in right now and it’s time to relax. We’re having a great time. 🙂
Safety first is a great motto to have. I am thankful I got to get away from caretaking today and play UNO with the ladies.
Hope you have fun playing UNO with your friends. 🙂
We have had some very nice weather, but no boat:( Now the cold is back, but we think it will be short-lived. We are thankful for all the beauty Mother Nature brings in Spring.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Nothing better than Mother Nature in the spring. 🙂
Getting out on the boat sounds so wonderful! Enjoy!!
Hubby used to have a fishing boat and I remember some cool, damp mornings spent out there, waiting for the sun to come up to warm us up! 🙂
It’s more than wonderful. It’s fabulous to be out on the water. 🙂
Have fun on your cruise! My blog is taking a vacation….lots going on and am too busy! NeXT week will be much better! xoxo
You do what you need to do. We’re having a great time. First wave of work is done and now it’s time to relax for the rest of the day. 🙂
Smiling as i think of you and Mr. Zane having a good time on your not at all boat cold boat. Happy Thursday!
We are having a great time on our boat right now. 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. XO
Thank you, Ellen. We are having fun. 🙂
I enjoyed reading all the comments. Now, I forgot what I was going to say!! Oh..that’s right, I’m just glad it’s warming up finally. Window whiffies just aren’t the same without smelling flowers along the breezes. Boat cold? I’m cold just reading your description!!! – Tom x
It’s warm today and we’re happy about that. Thanks for stopping by, Tom. It’s nice to meet you. 🙂
Happy boating, Sandee! Have a great weekend!
Thank you, Nancy. We’re having a great time. 🙂
Hoping you have a most fantastic weekend! Have a blast!
We are having a great weekend so far. All the boats are in for the day. It’s time to relax. 🙂
I am not sure I would survive boat cold! Have fun on your cruise and see you when you get back!
We go to the boat cold or not, but we’re sure happy when we get home to our warm home. 🙂
Joining you from Thankful Thursday. I am thankful that I am inside today, since it keeps alternating from sun to blizzards of flurries. Oh, and I have Miss Josie snuggled up beside me to keep me warm!
It’s been a long and hard winter, but spring is trying to move in. It’s nice to meet you, Angie. 🙂
