I’m thankful that we have a warm home that is comfortable. There are so many homeless here in California. There are tent cities all over the place and I fear for them and their health.
I’m thankful that we have healthy food to eat, because so many don’t know where their next meal will come from.
I’m thankful that hubby and I have a warm bed to sleep in as many don’t. We are so fortunate and not a day goes by without us acknowledging this.
What are you thankful for today?
I’m thankful for the same things you are. Although financially I’m not where I was just a short time ago, I am still so much lukier than a lot of people. I’m thankful that the bills are paid, I have food on the table, a job to go to and a roof over my head.
I hope things get better for you soon. I know paying off your mortgage will help. You have friends you know. 🙂
We are always so thankful for what we have. Even on the worst days, our lives are so much better than many.
I couldn’t agree more. There is so much pain for many and especially this time of year. 🙂

I have only to look at my feet and see two sets of paws snoozing. These sweet dogs make me smile inside and out.

I’m thankful for those things, as well. We take a lot for granted and don’t realize not everyone has a warm and comfortable place to lay their head.
We do take a lot for granted and we shouldn’t. I see such need in so many places of late. It’s so sad. 🙂
I too am grateful for the shelter and warmth of my home and for loved ones ( what few are left) and especially for my fur person ~ Xox to you from Ms.Z and me. ^_^

Am thankful that I can run up to the local pet store and know that they’ll have what I need for the kitties. I am grateful for the way that store is run, and the obvious love for customers that the management shows, and their employees radiate the same caring.
Good things to be thankful for. Our furbabies are ever so precious. 🙂
I hadn’t heard there were tent cities there. Were those awful fires the cause? I hope those people get to rebuild soon. Winter, even as mild as it is there, is no time to be living in a tent.
California is full of tent cities. There is a park here that is a tent city. You can drive down the freeway and see tent cities all over the place. It’s awful. No, they are not part of the fire. They are homeless. 🙂
We are SUPER thankful for the darling and thoughtful Secret Paws presents that Cody received! He will blog about them on Monday………they are just darling and Cody loves them! We are thankful that poor Dakota got at least a few cards….Cody’s are taking up the living room lol.

Twice this week when I went to 5am boot camp, there was a homeless person sleeping on a bench in the shopping center that the boot camp is in. Seeing him there in the cold, wet weather has made me so discombobulated that I can’t get him out of my mind. He wasn’t there this morning but it wasn’t raining so I think he was sleeping out in the open somewhere. I’m thankful I had a warm bed in a home filled with love and furbabies.
It’s rampant in California. Thousands upon thousands down here. It’s so sad. 🙂

I’m thankful for all the usual…family, friends, & pets, of course. Also, that it looks like Christmas day will be a nice one with no snow and up into the high 60s! We’ve only had snow for Christmas a couple of times I remember. I’m happy the package gifts we sent to our daughter & family out of state arrived with no problem. <3
If you’re traveling then no snow is a good thing. We don’t have snow here. I’m happy about that. I’m glad your packages arrived safely. 🙂
Those were some wonderful expressions of thankfulness. In Kansas City last week, the city sent a crew to destroy a homeless site because the homeless were on private property. They didn’t have to do all that damage, most of the people lost what little they had. And in the dead cold of the season too:(
We too are thankful for our wonderful home.

Some homeless folks can be very aggressive. Many are thieves. Many are addicted to alcohol or drugs or both. Some are harmless, and many are not. The folks you are talking about were warned long before they went in that if they left all is well, if you don’t we’ll destroy your stuff. They stayed anyway. 🙂

I kind of picked up on that yesterday. I’m sorry to hear it. I hate it when conflict shows up. 🙂
Life on the streets is harsh. The ones in tents are the lucky ones. Such a shame. Up here is so cold during the winter. After working in a shelter for the homeless and being able to put names to faces, these people are no longer faceless with no ID. We are fortunate there are food banks, soup lines and many places the homeless can stop for something good and healthy to eat but still…..it is a very hard way of life. We are fortunate, Sandee.
