It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for. I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
I’m thankful that today we’ll head for our boat for the weekend. It’s the commodores picnic and since I’m a past commodore I should join in the fun.
I’m thankful for the peaceful life hubby and I enjoy. We don’t like conflict and will avoid it at almost any cost.
I’m thankful that we had our precious Little Bit for almost thirteen years. She went to the bridge October 22, 2015 and I still cry. She was the best four legged family member ever.
I’m thankful that both hubby and I had a fulfilling career in law enforcement. It is so sad the hatred so many have with law enforcement. I will tell you without law enforcement there would be anarchy. Without law enforcement there would be no justice system.
What are you thankful for today?
Enjoy the commodores picnic.
I have so much to be thankful for. My job that keeps me going, a boss who is supportive, friends like you who encourage me. And the list goes on.
You’re a wonderful friend, Ann. Never forget that. 🙂
Sandee my dear!! I have a very good news 🙂 I will post later in my blog. I know you will rejoice with me! Grateful. Thankful. Blessed 🙂
Thank you for staying praying for me/us!
~Rocks~
What wonderful news, my friend. I couldn’t be happier for the both of you. 🙂
Peaceful is always a good thing. I can sure tell you we appreciate all law officers and the special things they do to keep us safe. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Peaceful is the very best. I love your Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. 🙂
I am thankful to those who uphold justice and keep peace in my country, including those civil servants who deserved to be praised for their good job. I am thankful for life, for love ones, for health and for little things we have taken so much for granted.
You are a very thankful person, Nancy. All year long. 🙂
I agree with you about law enforcement being important for peace and tranquility.
Enjoy your Comodores picnic on the boat and have a lovely weekend.
Many do, but some thing they are the problem. We’re heading out shortly to start our weekend. 🙂
Sandee, I didn’t know that about you. Thank you for your service. We need more people like you.
Have a great weekend. ((Hugs))
Thank you, Michelle. It was a wonderful career. I’m so very thankful we make it out alive. Hugs back. 🙂
Yes, a lot of our law enforcement don’t make it out alive, unfortunately. ((Hugs))
I am also thankful for the peaceful life the hubs and I enjoy. Thank you for the reminder, Sandee
Peaceful lives are a very good thing. We sure enjoy ours. 🙂
Thankful for people like you, Zane and my sweet husband Russell who literally put their lives at risk to keep us and our country safe! Have a great weekend! Cruise on!
There were times I was scared half to death, but I kept moving forward. Not an easy job at all. 🙂
Each day my feet touch the floor is a great day!!
I agree with you on this point. Me too. 🙂
I am thankful that The Hubby and I stretched our hearts, and adopted cats into our lives. They’ve made such a difference to us, and life would be less fun without them. Now to convince him that we have room for more…hehehe! Have a good weekend on your boat!
You’ll convince him. I know you will. Bless you for taking in these precious babies. 🙂
I’m thankful for the years I spent as a volunteer with our local police department and for the wonderful people I worked with there.
Thank you for your service too. I always loved our volunteers. They helped in so many wonderful ways. 🙂
I think we’d all love to see pics of the boating weekend! I’ve learned a little more about you with this post, and want to thank you for your years in law enforcement. I have a deep respect for those that put their life on the line for others. I, too, tear up when thinking about the pets that have traveled over the bridge. They’re in our lives entirely too short a time. Hope your weekend is a lovely time.
Looks like we both learned much about each other today. That’s a good thing. Monday I’ll be thinking about Little Bit all day long. I know hubby will as well. Little Bit was daddy’s pup. Followed him everywhere. 🙂
Hi Sandee, it’s a testiment to Little Bit that you still shed a tear for her. It’s heartbreaking loosing a pet, but would we have it any other way? I think not… People who hate law enforcment are out of their minds. I take my hat off to you, your husband and anyone who spend their life protecting others. I hate to think what the world would be like without you all.. I’m thankful for freedom. I too lead a simple life, but I am free to lead a life that makes me happy.
When you say you’re a past commadore. Is that the Commadores?.. Just thought I’d ask. Have fun on the boat.
xx
We loved her so. She was the best baby girl dog ever.
Past Commodore refers to boating. When you go through the chairs you start out as port/fleet captain and are responsible for all vessels in the fleet to get tied up wherever you’re cruising to. Rear Commodore is responsible for all drive in functions and those are in the winter months. The vice commodore is responsible for all cruise outs and these are in the good weather months. There are many things that need doing as well. Raffles and other fun activities. The commodore is the CEO of the organization and keeps all the wheels churning. After you complete the commodore year you are the staff commodore and it’s an advisory position. 🙂
We’re Thankful that we could stop by today and read where you are thankful for, Sandee 🙂 We like a peacefull life too, more than ever 🙂 We never forget those who we loved, they are for always in our heart. Soft Pawkiss especially for you🐾😽💞
They live in our hearts forever. It’s a good thing. Pawkisses back. 🙂
We hope you have a wonderful time on the boat. Our Mom and Dad are very grateful for our law enforcement folks too. Here in OP we have a great police force, always there to help and always very friendly.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We are having a wonderful time on our boat. I’m glad you have a great police force. Have a great day and weekend. Extra lovies to Lightening. 🙂
It is true that “without law enforcement there would be anarchy. Without law enforcement there would be no justice system.”…..
Have a great day
Yes on both counts and there are those that think we’d be better off. You have a great day too. 🙂
First, i am thankful for our law enforcement officers and i am grateful that you and Mr. Zane served in that capacity.
Second, i am thankful you survived your service and have such a happy life now!
We loved our careers and treated people with respect. The average life expectancy for a retired law enforcement person is five years. That is if you make it to retirement. We beat both of those odds. 🙂
A picnic? We love picnics…however none of us are commodores so we can’t come with you. Law enforcement and it’s many arms is very important for a peaceful society.
Jean
You could come as our guests and if you were near we would invite you. 🙂
I did not know you had been in law enforcement. I thank you and your husband for risking your lives to keep others safe. I hope you have a wonderful yacht trip. XO
We worked had to make things better. Times are so different now. We are having a great outing. 🙂
We hope you have a wonderful time on the boat. The Mom is wishing that her and the Dad could go kayaking. Poor kayaks have been stuck in the garage for over an year with no outings.
Being on the water is most relaxing for us. It’s a wonderful way to get out of the house and have fun with friends. I hope you get those kayaks out next summer. 🙂
Enjoy your commodores picnic and stay safe. Those that serve to protect us deserve more appreciation than they receive. Have a great day!
We’re having a great time and yes they deserve more appreciation then they are receiving. You have a great day too. 🙂
I’m sorry about your furry love, Little Bit. They just really crawl into our heart and souls don’t they? Hugs to you..<3 – I’m happy you’re on the boat this weekend and enjoying an amazing picnic, I’m sure! But wait, does Lionel Richie know that you and the hubs were in the band?? 😉 – And, I cannot thank you and your husband enough for putting your life on the line to keep all of us safe, even if we weren’t in that area. Keeping this country safe is a coast to coast, north to south effort and people really need to stop and think about how blessed and fortunate we all are to have law enforcement. You chose to protect us. You didn’t have to and I, personally, thank you for that. <3 You’re amazing, Sandee. <3
I like what you are grateful for.
i am thankful it is no longer 100 plus degrees, and we can go outside again 🙂
I am sorry that Little Bit has passed but she was lucky to have had you for so long. I am also sorry that you had to face the prejudice during your career. They should have a holiday like vet’s day to honor police and firefighters (I’m thinking one holiday together to honor both so the companies don’t yell about people taking another day off to watch the parades) because both put their lives on the line when they go out to do their jobs as much as soldiers do and we often forget that.
