Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for. I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful that we have air conditioning. It’s been so hot and we’ve been hunkered down inside to beat the heat. I still love summer though.

I’m thankful that we’re going to go on a longer cruise the weekend of the 10th – 12th. One of our yacht club members that had some major surgery is back in the mix again. It will be good to see them out on the water. I know it will be for them.

I’m thankful that my hair is gray finally. I’ve colored it for years and about seven years ago I hoped to let it go gray. It was awful. Now it’s gray all over and I’m happy. Looking natural is important to me.

What are you thankful for today?

I don’t think you’re turning your moms hair gray. Puppies are never to blame for gray hair. Loves and licky kisses back. My best to your mom. 🙂

I’m thankful for a friend, like you, who sticks with me during blog transfers.
I lost most of my followers during the transition. So, thank you, Sandee 🙂

We are looking forward to a fabulous trip to Benicia. It’s great to get out on the water and go to a fun place. 🙂

I love my gray hair. I hated coloring my hair but it looked so bad with the way the gray wasn’t coming in. You’re welcome on my participation on Thankful Thursday. Thanks for hosting. 🙂

I’m with Kisment. ~sigh~ Apparently I did damage to my hair follicles with a nervous habit of scratching. Now my hair is thin to the point if I don’t keep up color on the roots it goes flat and looks horrible. Oh, well. I’m old. Hope you’re having a blessed day!

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’m old too, honey. Things are the way they are and we do what we have to do. You have a blessed day too, my friend. 🙂

Every time I see my hairdresser (it takes her less than 10 minutes to neaten up my pixie cut!), I wonder aloud about dying my hair again, but she is against it, saying my color is purrfect for me; some grey, some dishwater blonde. I used to dye my hair for decades, but finally had enough of worrying about roots to call it quits about 14 years ago. However, I am still in the employment world, and wonder if I need to freshen it up.

We all do what fits us. I always wanted my hair natural, but I was a mousy shade of brown. That’s why I colored it. More blonde than brown. Now it’s gray and I’m happy. What would people think if you went to work with a different color of hair? Probably nothing at all. 🙂

Like you, I am ever thankful for air conditioning. I am a PPPP Perpetually Profusely Perspiring Person and it doesn’t take much to get me started. We did not have much of a spring here in NW Arkansas as the daytime high temperatures rose into the nineties by mid-May and have remained there ever since. We have broken one hundred a couple of times since the fourth of July, but this week is cooler and much more seasonable. We are very thankful that the oldest grand daughter is living her dream. She embarks on her teaching career in a couple of weeks. She is beyond excited about teaching her first kindergarten class. Have a blessed week.

Oh, I almost forgot most men would much rather have their hair gray than gone! Mine started turning gray when I was about 40. I have never seen with colored hair that looked natural, so that was never a consideration for me. By the time I was 60 it was all gray and now it is silver. Silver is a precious metal, so I just tell my wife that she should consider me precious…and that’s when you can hear her eyes roll.

      • Comedy Plus says:

Hubby has silver hair too. He went gray in his 30s. He’s got his hair too. He’s happy about that. Silver is a precious metal. 🙂

We had winter that just wouldn’t give up here. Very cool spring and sometimes it was downright cold. They one day someone flipped the switch and it’s been hot ever since. We’ve had so many triple digit days I’ve lost count. This weekend is supposed to be cooler and I’m ready for that.

Way to go on your oldest granddaughter. I know you’re so proud of her. As it should be. 🙂

Your cruises sound like so much fun! Sorry it’s so hot there. Wish I could share some of our rain with you. Yes, it’s raining again today. I wish I could stop coloring my hair. Hopefully, I’ll get there. Each time I start letting it grow out, hubby says, “hmm, think it’s time for the salon?” So, my dirty dishwater/ugly grey is not ready to come out yet. I am platinum around the face. If that ever spreads, I’ll be ready! LOL! 😆

    • Comedy Plus says:

If we took any of that rain all the farmers would have a meltdown. It’s almost harvest time. Peaches, and a variety of nuts. Rain isn’t good for those.

Our boating is most fun. We love it dearly. Wish you could come along for a cruise.

I love my hair now. It took most of this year to grow out (it’s pretty short), and I have a few tips that are left so another couple of cuts and I’ll be completely gray. 🙂

      • Linda Arthur Tejera says:

Then I hope the rain holds off for the farmers but falls on the fires!

That cruising sounds like such fun. I know nothing about boating. I’ve always been a swimming pool kind of person where I can see what all is under the water! 😆

Oh, the freedom. No more hair coloring. I’m so jealous!

Oh my gosh, I’m going through that right now. I’ve been dying my hair since I was 16 in beauty school. Being half Sicilian on my mother’s side & all having dark brown hair guess who else got it… hahaha yep, ME! At 16 I hated it & I volunteered ASAP for the dying of the hair & was blonde for a very long time & then became golden brown for a long time.& now it’s a medium brown & frosted & I been that way for over 20 yrs. Go figure. I’ve come really close to letting grow out. Whatcha think? Oh, being as I’m 68 & going in for surgery & it may be a long time before I’m able to get a touch up for a while. hmmmmmmmmmm I go for class today with regards to my surgery… wish me luck that I learn everything I need to know & then some… HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND … HUGS

    • Comedy Plus says:

You’ll do what is right for you. I was more than ready years ago, but my hair wouldn’t cooperate. It was horrible. Now it’s the way I want it. It feels so healthy too. That’s the best part. 🙂

YOUR LINKY WON’T LET ME SIGN IN!!! 🙁 OH NO, IT HATES ME TOO???? BUMMER… It’s okay Amazon hates me too. It won’t let me write reviews anymore, which mean no more reviews for me when it comes to 90% of products. I’m sooooooooooooooooooooo depressed. If anyone has any answers to that one I surely would like to know!!! BIG HUGS TO YOU MY FRIEND!

    • Comedy Plus says:

I’m sorry. These are Brian’s linkies. You can’t do the image from the web. I always do the image from the file and it works fine. Just pick a picture that works for yous post. Hugs back. 🙂

I’m thankful that you aren’t having to evacuate because of the fires. How close are they to your home? A couple of years ago we had them a couple of miles away, the air was terribly smoky. Yours may be also because they are so huge in area. Best wishes on the cruise, that will be fun traveling with friends.
    🙂 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

The nearest fire is probably a 100 miles from us, but we do get smoky air if the wind is right. California pretty much burns every year. When we went on our bay cruise last year we were boating into San Francisco and it was so smokey we couldn’t see the skyscrapers. That’s pretty bad. 🙂

  10. Rosey says:

I am thankful for the good news I just read on my blog. Huge congrats all around!! Twins is the best news I’ve heard all day (and it’s been a great day!). 🙂

  11. ghostmmnc says:

Sounds like you’ll have a fun upcoming trip!
I keep saying I’ll stop dying my hair, but then it gets awful, and I have to fix it again.
Happy Thursday, and wishes for a fab weekend! 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

I know, if you have long hair it’s a very long process. My hair was short so it’s not so bad. I’ve a boat buddy with long hair and she let it grow out. Took her two years but she’s all gray now. Happy Thursday to you too. 🙂

      • ghostmmnc says:

I figure if I ever get serious about letting my hair go totally gray, I’d go to the salon and get it done all at once. Then, if I hated it, I could always start dying it again! haha! 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

Mine is darker on the top than the sides, but at least it’s gray all over. I’m sure it will get lighter as I age. I’m good with going natural. 🙂

  12. Magical Mystical Mimi says:

I am so, so happy for your cruise because I know you love them so! People always ask me what color I have on my hair and I’m like, the one I’ve had since birth. I haven’t colored my hair in years. My siblings all have tons of gray in their hair or they’re completely white headed! I’m still waiting.. I’m going gray like my dad did, in my 50’s, very slow and just at my temples. – By the way, I’m thankful for you. 🙂 You are a wonderful soul. <3

    • Comedy Plus says:

You are a wonderful soul too, Karen. You’re lucky with your hair. It does what it does when it is supposed to do what it’s supposed to do. All those gene things at work. Love you. 🙂

    • Comedy Plus says:

We are heading to the boat tomorrow to do some cleaning and see what supplies we need, then it’s back home for a few days and then we’re gone. I’m happy about that. 🙂
