Today I’m thankful that hubby and I have a home. In California there are tons of homeless folks. They are everywhere. There are cities that we no longer visit because of all the homeless. Many are by choice and many by circumstances beyond their control. Many have alcohol or drug issues, or both. Many have mental health issues. As beautiful as many places in California are there are many places that look like a third world country. It’s a shame.

That’s sad that there are so many homeless. What’s even sadder is the amount of money raised to help people in other countries while there are so many right here at home that need help. Of course maybe the saddest of all is that a lot of those homeless people don’t want the help.
It seems to be ignored for the most part too. So sad. 🙂
We are thankful that we all have what we need and that Mom has her own business and can work from home, or on the road. Trying to get the most out of life is fun and makes us all happy.

I like these colorful homes and they do look like California! Florida is the same as CA, both states have a climate that allows living outside better than the other states. I am thankful every day that we have a home to live in.

We are fortunate to have a home, with room to house the cats and ourselves without being cheek-by-jowl.
Through all of the ups and downs that we’ve been through, we’ve been able to maintain our residence, and we are thankful.

We are thankful for our home too. We took a rare trip into town on Tuesday and there were so many shop doorways with sleeping bags rolled up.
Yep, this is going on around the world. It’s ever so sad. 🙂

I’m thankful for our house, too. It makes one really appreciate what he/she has when you see the homeless camped under an overpass or elsewhere in the city. No matter what the circumstances that put these individuals in this state, it’s sad. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to distinguish those who genuinely need help and aren’t coning you out of five bucks to buy liquor, and drugs or those who are just bums. Most people have good hearts wanting to help which makes them easy targets to get snookered.
I don’t give them money. This is a welfare state so they are getting what they need from the government and stealing. 🙂
Regrettably, I think it’s that way everywhere. What the devil happened to our society?
I have an idea what happened, but I’ll keep it to myself. 🙂

My peeps used to live there. They moved to Arizona and went back for a visit a year after the move. The deterioration was noticeable after one year. They have no desire to revisit. One of my peeps was born in SF itself.
We stay home or go to the boat. We used to enjoy San Francisco, but won’t return there. It’s nasty and very dangerous. I love you, Kismet. 🙂
Home is where the heart is. I wish everyone had a home, it’s so sad when folks have to live on the street.
Here there’s more people than housing. So sad. 🙂

When I moved here from Oregon in 1969 this state was so awesome. So beautiful and so well ran. Not anymore. 🙂
You are so right, and it is a shame for our country that we allow this to happen. Your state is suffering terribly with all the fires. Keep safe!
When they quit doing forest management the fires began not to many years from that. So sad. This state is so poorly run. 🙂

I think it is very sad how some of the most beautiful cities in California have gone so far downhill. Entrepreneur will not even consider visiting (or even flying into) LA or San Francisco. It’s very sad to see the homeless and addicts on those streets. I wonder what the answer is since it seems like nothing these cities do to try and fix it makes any difference.
We used to visit San Francisco often. We’ve not been in year. It’s dangerous and so nasty in so many places. 🙂

It’s strange that so many cities/towns have polar opposites within its boundaries. Even in my town in the UK, known for being fancy-ass and expensive, there are super posh houses and all this loveliness, juxtaposed with scores of benefit housing, homelessness, drug use, etc. The divide only continues to get worse 🙁

It’s really horrible here. Homeless is everywhere. They have taken wonderful neighborhoods and ruined them. Love you. 🙂
We have an increasing homeless population here, too. It’s not easy, the solutions are not simple or straightforward, but it’s a reason i’m glad we belong to a church that tries to help and make a difference.
