It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Today I’m thankful that hubby and I have a home. In California there are tons of homeless folks. They are everywhere. There are cities that we no longer visit because of all the homeless. Many are by choice and many by circumstances beyond their control. Many have alcohol or drug issues, or both. Many have mental health issues. As beautiful as many places in California are there are many places that look like a third world country. It’s a shame.
Hubby and I are most thankful we have a safe place to live in comfort.

That’s sad that there are so many homeless. What’s even sadder is the amount of money raised to help people in other countries while there are so many right here at home that need help. Of course maybe the saddest of all is that a lot of those homeless people don’t want the help.
It seems to be ignored for the most part too. So sad. 🙂
We are thankful that we all have what we need and that Mom has her own business and can work from home, or on the road. Trying to get the most out of life is fun and makes us all happy.
I’m happy for you. It’s so important to be comfortable. Happy rest of the week. 🙂
I am thankful for a mortgage free home too, especially now with the prices and mortgage rates. Have a nice day. XO
We’re thankful for that too. We don’t have any debt at all. Have a nice day too. 🙂
I like these colorful homes and they do look like California! Florida is the same as CA, both states have a climate that allows living outside better than the other states. I am thankful every day that we have a home to live in.
They do indeed. Having a home is so important. 🙂
We are fortunate to have a home, with room to house the cats and ourselves without being cheek-by-jowl.
Through all of the ups and downs that we’ve been through, we’ve been able to maintain our residence, and we are thankful.
Same here. it’s getting harder and harder in this economy. 🙂
We’re thankful for our home too. It’s safe and close to everything we need. Happy Thursday!
We live in the most safe city in our county. We’re happy about that. Happy Thursday, Eugenia. 🙂
Sandee the very same situations here in our city. I love the painted homes
Hugs Cecilia
It seems to be going on from shore to shore. So sad. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
We are thankful for our home too. We took a rare trip into town on Tuesday and there were so many shop doorways with sleeping bags rolled up.
Yep, this is going on around the world. It’s ever so sad. 🙂
Sandee,
I’m thankful for our house, too. It makes one really appreciate what he/she has when you see the homeless camped under an overpass or elsewhere in the city. No matter what the circumstances that put these individuals in this state, it’s sad. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to distinguish those who genuinely need help and aren’t coning you out of five bucks to buy liquor, and drugs or those who are just bums. Most people have good hearts wanting to help which makes them easy targets to get snookered.
I don’t give them money. This is a welfare state so they are getting what they need from the government and stealing. 🙂
Regrettably, I think it’s that way everywhere. What the devil happened to our society?
I have an idea what happened, but I’ll keep it to myself. 🙂
We’re probably thinking the same thing. 😇
I’m thankful for my home too. It’s so sad to see so many homeless.
It is very sad to see all the homeless. 🙂
My peeps used to live there. They moved to Arizona and went back for a visit a year after the move. The deterioration was noticeable after one year. They have no desire to revisit. One of my peeps was born in SF itself.
We stay home or go to the boat. We used to enjoy San Francisco, but won’t return there. It’s nasty and very dangerous. I love you, Kismet. 🙂
Home is where the heart is. I wish everyone had a home, it’s so sad when folks have to live on the street.
Here there’s more people than housing. So sad. 🙂
We feel bad for our California friends, such a beautiful state, once anyways. We hope that things improve soon. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
When I moved here from Oregon in 1969 this state was so awesome. So beautiful and so well ran. Not anymore. 🙂
You are so right, and it is a shame for our country that we allow this to happen. Your state is suffering terribly with all the fires. Keep safe!
When they quit doing forest management the fires began not to many years from that. So sad. This state is so poorly run. 🙂
I’m thankful we have never been in a homeless situation.
Wishing you a lovely day. <3
I’ve been poor and I’ve been hungry, but never homeless. You have a lovely day too, Barbara. 🙂
Wonderful thank you of a safe and happy home ~ Xo
Lots of love and hugs to you,
Wishing you lots of good health, laughter and love in your days,

You’re just as fortunate, Carol. We are most blessed. Love and healing hugs. 🙂
I think it is very sad how some of the most beautiful cities in California have gone so far downhill. Entrepreneur will not even consider visiting (or even flying into) LA or San Francisco. It’s very sad to see the homeless and addicts on those streets. I wonder what the answer is since it seems like nothing these cities do to try and fix it makes any difference.
We used to visit San Francisco often. We’ve not been in year. It’s dangerous and so nasty in so many places. 🙂
thankful for every day and every step forward
Makes two of us, Paul. I’m thankful I found you. 🙂
It’s strange that so many cities/towns have polar opposites within its boundaries. Even in my town in the UK, known for being fancy-ass and expensive, there are super posh houses and all this loveliness, juxtaposed with scores of benefit housing, homelessness, drug use, etc. The divide only continues to get worse 🙁
You’re right the divide only continues to get worse. So sad. 🙂
It’s really sad what so many cities in California have become.
It sure is. So very sad. 🙂
We have the same issue here up north- very very sad. I am so thankful that all our families are under a roof and happy. xoxoxo
It’s really horrible here. Homeless is everywhere. They have taken wonderful neighborhoods and ruined them. Love you. 🙂
We have an increasing homeless population here, too. It’s not easy, the solutions are not simple or straightforward, but it’s a reason i’m glad we belong to a church that tries to help and make a difference.
Hope you and Mr. Zane had a great Thursday, hugs!
So many are trying to help, but is seems it doesn’t make a difference for the most part. You and Mr. Sweetie have a great day and weekend. 🙂
Very sad indeed. I can’t imagine what it must be like. We have homeless people here also but, I don’t think that bad. Maybe in Atlanta. Have a good evening, Sandee.🤗
We live in a small town and there aren’t many here, but the bigger the city the more the homeless. You have a blessed day and weekend, Michelle. 🙂
That is so true and something we take for granted.
We do take it for granted and I’m trying not to take anything for granted. 🙂
What a wonderful thankful, and so very true!
One of the most wonderful things is have a safe place to reside. 🙂
Thankful for a home and for a hubby who works on the house and yard to make it a place we can enjoy!
We are both lucky gals, Bette. We know it too. Have a great day and weekend. 🙂
I’m with you all the way, Sandee! 💞
It’s heartbreaking, really. On so many levels.
We are truly blessed and grateful that we have a home in which to live.
It’s heartbreaking indeed. 🙂
