Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

We’re thankful for Netflix and Amazon Prime for our movies and television shows. Our latest show was season 1 of Reacher on Amazon Prime.  It’s based on the first book by Lee Child named  Killing Floor.

Jack Reacher gets off a Greyhound bus in the town of Margrave, Georgia, because he remembers his brother mentioning that a blues musician named Blind Blake had died there. Much to his surprise, shortly after his arrival, he is arrested in a local diner for murder on the orders of the sheriff, Morrison, who falsely claims he saw Reacher leave the scene. About Jack Reacher:

Jack Reacher is the protagonist of a series of crime thriller novels by British author Lee Child. After leaving the US Army as a major in its military police at age 36, Reacher roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations. He’s 6’5″ and weighs 250 pounds.  All muscle.

Hubby and I were spellbound with the show until the end.  We’re hoping that each book will be made into a season.  We love all things Jack Reacher.

What are you thankful for today?

I am a big fan of Lee Child too. Thanks for the review!!!
I’m thankful folks who make me smile:
Today was grocery day here in NC. The first person I saw when I walked into the store, was the produce guy. He dyed his mustache and beard GREEN. It was quite festive and made me smile
    Hugs Cecilia

We love Lee Child too. I think he’s one of the best authors out there.

Way to go on the produce guy. How fun.

Have a fabulous St. Patrick’s Day, Cecilia. Big hug. 🙂

I’ve attended several online Zoom meetings with Lee Child; he’s often in the company of my favorite author, Laurie R. King, and they are friends. Also, I’ve read all of the Lee Child & Douglas Preston’s Prendergast series, and a few of their Gideon Crew books too.
Happy St. Patrick’s and St. Gertrude’s Day!

I have read every single Jack Reacher book and am a huge fan of him. I tryed to watch the new series and the man that plays the part is not anything at all like the book, so could not watch it. its odd how we all see the same things with different eyes. Did you know there is a set of books about jack Reachers son? his name is Jack Widow, written by Scott Blade, there are 17 of them on Amazon, and I am at the end of # 9.. not quite as good as Child but good. since I read this i may try the first Reacher alone with out bob. he and i don’t see eye to eye on movies and he doesn’t read

Thank goodness for libraries full of great books while dealing with Covid lockups etc. Lee Child is a great writer- I think we saw this series some time back…but maybe this is a new series?

  6. 15andmeowing says:

It is nice to have something you both enjoy watching. I think my hubby and I would like Jack Reacher.
    Happy St. Patrick’s Day! XO

We don’t have any of those kind of tv channels, and we rarely watch a movie. But I have read a couple of his books, and they are really good! We actually went to a used bookstore this morning, which was fun. 🙂
    Happy Thursday! ♥

  8. Anne Marie Robinson says:

I heard this morning if people have shared their passwords with Netflex they are going to start investigating. I tohught is that really something earth shattering? Hmmm…. I guess I will never know. But I’m happy you like the eries together and can enjoy it.

  9. Xena and Lucy says:

Netflix and Amazon are pretty much all we ever turn to on the TV (unless the Super Bowl is on). We will have to check out Reacher. Have you watched The Amazing Mrs. Marvel on Amazon?

  10. Patricia says:

I am a Jack Reacher fan. Lee Child writes a good story that keeps my interest and always has a surprise or two. I refused to see Reacher movies with Tom Cruise as Reacher because he just doesn’t fit the physical picture of the character. I will have to check out the Amazon series.

  11. Brian says:

Oh, good thankful, we really enjoyed Reacher too, plus all the books of course. That guy was more Reacher than the tiny Tom Cruise. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
