It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
Today I’m thankful for books. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but books are such a part of our lives. Hubby and I get together each afternoon and read together. When we’re on our boat we read almost all day long. I can travel the world and not leave my chair.
I’m thankful for a good meal. Hubby and I have altered our diets a great deal in the last couple of years, but we do eat pretty much whatever we want, we just leave out chips, sodas, high fats and the like. It’s amazing that you can have pizza, burgers and pasta and still lose weight. I wish I had figured this out years ago.
What are you thankful for today?

Reading does open up a whole world of possibilities.
I wish I could figure out a good diet. I keep slipping back into old habits.
It’s so hard to give up the foods you love. It took me a bit, but I managed to kick them to the curb. 🙂
I love books but the jigsaw puzzle keeps calling to me and books seem to be on hold for now.
Jigsaw puzzles are most fun. Do you help mom, Miss Molly? I’m sure you do. 🙂
Mom doesn’t like to read at all, never has, but Gramma loves her books. Now she can’t see much but she listens to her audio books and they make her so happy. For those who enjoy reading it is a wonderful thing.
Audio books were so fun to me when I was working and went from meeting to meeting. Made my journey most enjoyable. 🙂
We both love books: Jeff the techie stuff and history type books, me, fiction of various genres. There’s a comradery in sitting together reading.
Because of gluten intolerance and trying to stay away from a lot of starches, we tend to eat spaghetti squash! (No, it is definitely not the same!!)
Hubby and I read different kinds of books too, but we get together every single day to read. 🙂
Books! Bookstores, new and used! Libraries! YAY!
Yes, yes, yes and yes. 🙂
I too am thankful for books, they have been a huge part of my life since i could hold a childrens book in my hand. My mother was a reader and so am I, but none of the males were or are readers. Bob would be so much happier if he could read like I do.
Reading is so therapeutic. Love it. 🙂
That means that there is less of you to love.
But you love me and I love you, Kismet. 🙂
I’m very thankful my Mom shared her love of books with me. When I was a child we went to the library every Saturday.
Hugs cecilia
My mom didn’t read much, but she only had a 6th grade education. I learned to love books all by myself. I’m so happy about that. 🙂
I love books too. Eating well isn’t as difficult as most people think, just cut the true junk!
We often don’t realize all the junk we’re eating. Home cooking has helped a lot too. 🙂
Most definitely books! Truly ~ moderation in eating is key ~ eat healthy ~ great post ~
Lots of hugs and love to you from me and Angel,
Wishing you lots of love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores
(aka A Creative Harbor)
Yes, moderation is key. We’ve learned that. Love and hugs to you both. 🙂
soda (pop here lol), hasn’t been on my agenda in YEARS (it’s poison to the bladder and kidneys)!! We do eat chips (but just on the weekend), sooo…maybe your theory doesn’t work because we don’t eat a lot of high fat foods and we use low fat meat and whole grains and I’m fatter than hell…..go figure lol
It’s whatever works and this is working for the both of us. Keep moving and eat less. 🙂
You know how much I love books. They’ve always been a big part of my life. It’s been a struggle for me and my husband to lose weight but I did it once before and I can do it again. It’s encouraging to hear how well you are doing.
If we get rid of the word diet we can succeed. It’s slow going, but I’m doing it. 🙂
Two of my favorite things to be thankful for also!!
Yes indeed. Happy Thankful Thursday. 🙂
Those are wonderful thankfuls and I’m ready for a diet pizza! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We don’t have diet pizza, but they are far healthier than ordering them from the pizza parlor. Tastier too. 🙂
Reading and having delish meals are on our list! Thanks goodness for libraries! Hmmmm might be next weeks thankful….eh? Have a great day! xoxo
We both love books. Books are wonderful. So are you. 🙂
Today I’m especially thankful for clear blue skies. The temps are still pretty chilly, but sunshine sure makes a difference to my spirit.
It’s really cold here, but the sun is shining. The weather will get back to spring by the weekend. I’m happy about that. 🙂
I love books but most of my reading is done on my laptop because it’s easier on the eyes. I have invested in blue block glasses, which help a lot. I agree, leaving out chips, sodas, and high fats help in shedding those extra lbs. Happy Thursday, Sandee!
They sure do help in getting rid of extra pounds. I was amazed. Happy Thursday, Eugenia. 🙂
crazy day, still thankful
Yes indeed. Crazy days happen. 🙂
I’m thankful for books, too. I’ve always got one or more I’m reading every day. We’ve been working lots of jigsaw puzzles, too.
Happy Thursday! <3
I love jigsaw puzzles, but do mine online. Happy Thursday. 🙂
We have a hot sunny day today. I can’t get a diet to work for me.
I love to read, it’s my favorite thing to do. Lots of other stuff doesn’t get done because of books.
I hear you, Patricia. When you can’t put the book down, there’s a lot not getting done. 🙂
Reading is a huge part of my life, i don’t know what i’d do without it.
That makes two of us, my friend. Happy Thankful Thursday. 🙂
Mom loves to read too, but she has become addicted to jigsaw puzzles. Once she opens that box, she can’t stop working on the puzzle. Right now she is trying to finish some crochet projects so we haven’t seen any puzzle boxes opened for a couple of weeks now:)
And YOU have made us hungry with all that talk about pizza.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
You can do both. Nothing wrong with that. Yes our pizza night is fun. We do it every other Monday. Delicious. 🙂
I’d love to hug you for real right now. 😀 Best wishes, my dear, and thank you for another uplifting post.
I’d love to get a hug from you right now too. Happy day and weekend. 🙂
Wonderful thankfuls. I love to read too. I have been doing well fasting at night. I still eat too many bad for me things though, so weight loss is happening, but slow. XO
Slow is good. I’ve got 8 pounds to go and then I’ll reassess if I want to lose more. 🙂
I love book too and a library is a great place to spend a day.
Yes indeed. Hubby and I are avid readers. 🙂
Reading is a favorite past time. I can travel anywhere without any cost or worries. Thanks for sharing and as always, thanks for being here for all of us .I think I put up my fill in list. I always always behind or ahead. Never on time. Have a great weekend.
I can do the same, Anne. Hubby and I love to read. Have a great weekend, my friend. 🙂
I feel like my comments disappear most places where I go. I seem to have had a hard week. Take care and I love our library.
They don’t though. They just take a bit to post. WordPress is funny that way. 🙂
Thankful for books, libraries, and parents, teachers and others who model and promote the love of reading. Reading is FUN-damental!
Yes indeed. It begins with us. Happy day and weekend, Bette. 🙂
Me too! I just read the best book and it made me so very happy 🙂
Lots of wonderful books. Pure heaven. 🙂
