It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
I’m thankful that my triglycerides are much lower than they were at my annual physical. I dropped them by altering my diet a bit and doing lots of walking. I’m almost back in the normal range. I don’t want to depend on medication for something I can do with so little effort. I had a follow up appointment with my doctor and she was very pleased with my progress in just three months.
I’m thankful that at almost 70 years of age I’m very healthy. Hubby and I are much slower, but we’re still very active. It’s so important to stay as healthy as we can.
What are you thankful for today?

That’s awesome. Way to go on getting those numbers where they should be.
I’m pretty close now and I’m happy about that. So is my doctor. 🙂
Good to know that you managed to lower the triglycerides. I don’t know about mine. My blood test is long overdue. Not comfortable in going to the clinic just yet for the test because of the nearby surrounding positive cases. Will wait for the situation to improve before going for the check. Meanwhile, I will have to be diligent in my morning walk and hope all is well.
If you’re walking every morning you’re probably fine. You eat very well. 🙂
Yay, Miss Sandee! We applaud you!
I didn’t know they were so high and when I did I did what the doctor wanted right away. 🙂
Great job! Keep up the good work and stay as healthy as you can for as long as you can. Dad’s not far behind you and also has to work to keep as fit as he can so he can stay around as long as possibly to annoy mom.
To annoy mom? Bwahahahahaha. You crack me up, Cleo. Being healthy is a good thing. 🙂
Good for you! Mom doesn’t have bad numbers either but now has to take medication and she hates that. Sometimes the genetics override what you can do and you are stuck. Keep up the healthy lifestyle and you will feel so much better.
I take very little medication for being almost 70 and I’m happy about that. I do feel better and I go walk even when I don’t feel like it. 🙂
That’s great you are still very active 😀
Got to keep moving. You’re young and you already know this. 🙂
I am so with you on finding natural ways to stay healthy. Drugs often cause problems that need more drugs that cause problems that…well, you know. Hurray for the triglyceride drop!
It’s a far better choice, but I know some folks that say, just give me a pill to fix whatever. Doesn’t always work. 🙂
Great job Sandee. Enjoy those walks.

I walk with hubby so that’s a plus. Happy Thursday. 🙂
Such purrfect thankfuls all and hooray for your good health! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I’ve got some aches and pains, but overall I’m in good health. I’m happy about that. 🙂
Way to go, Sandee! Keep up the good work! Happy Thursday!
I will keep up the work and keep my numbers under 150 as recommended. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be to get the numbers down. 🙂
Good for you!
Thank you. I’m very happy with the results. 🙂
that is great news that your efforts have paid off. exercise works, so we must work it. I started at the Y Sept 2006 at age 62, five days a week, and in 2015 at age 70 stared all those exercises i had on my blog. in 2017 I gave up sugar and most of white flour and am still doing it all as I am about to turn 77 in Sept… most people say i wish I liked excercise, and I say I don’t like exercise at all, I just do it
I don’t care for exercise either, but I just do it too. I don’t drink sodas, rarely have sugar (ice cream is my weakness) and I only have that a couple times a year, and we eat pretty healthy. I’ll be 70 in September. 🙂
That is great news! You have inspired me. I have been such a slig and I am going to have to see my docotr in August. I am going to get moving. I just pray the heat calms a bit. Hard to be motivated outdors in these miserable temps. Thanks and have a great day.
I am a slug. See I can’t spell I am so tired. Going to get moving though. Thank you my friend. You are terrific.
Just walk 20 minutes every day. It’s not that long and it does the trick. I go out early in the morning to beat the heat. 🙂
Yay Sandee and clapping wildly. Nothing better than good labs and a happy doctor. I had my physical last Friday.
My doc reduced my bp med for the very same reason. Just a wee alteration in diet and more walking alternating with riding my recumbent bike
Hugs Cecilia
My doctor told me to watch my blood pressure too and if it gets below certain numbers to cut my bp pill in half. I can do that. Hugs. 🙂
That’s wonderful news, Sandee! It’s nice to hear when others are in good health. Hooray!
I’m pretty happy that hubby and I are as healthy as we are. We do try to do all the right things. 🙂
thankful that i am done with the eye drops after my surgery. have a great week.
Oh that makes for a happy day indeed. They just go on for days and days. 🙂
great thing to be thankful for! I am thankful that when I fractured my ankle (a few fractures) this past July 9th that I don’t need surgery. But….I am unhappy because I was also walking daily with Levi which I can’t do at least until August 24th. It’s causing me to eat more which I don’t need to be doing!
I’m eating less bad food and walking and it’s done wonders. I miss some of the food I gave up, but I can’t do that anymore. I hope you get back out on your walks very soon. 🙂
Those old triglycerides can be really difficult for some and we are glad you are controlling yours the right way. Dad is one of those lucky few whose metabolism is such that he can eat anything and they barely break normal. His are naturally low. When he first had them done years ago they actually repeated them as they thought it was a lab mistake. May you live long and prosper with your new good numbers!
Mine were slowly rising each year and I wasn’t paying enough attention. Finally my doctor said you need to address this and then told me how. You’re lucky to have such great numbers. 🙂
Being healthy and taking care of yourself is sooooooooo important! Cheers to you and Zane!
Yes it is and if you’re not paying attention it will slip away from you and you’ll end up with bad numbers. 🙂
Glad you were able to get your cholesterol down without meds. XO
That makes two of us, Ellen. I was pretty high and now I’m almost where I should be. 🙂
That’s wonderful about the good news from the doctor. I hope you are having a great day.
I’m having a great day, Yvonne. I hope you are too. 🙂
Good for you! Simply changes like diet can yield some amazing results. Keep up the great work!
I was shocked at how much I lowered my numbers in just three months. I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing. 🙂
👍🏻 Good for you! I’ve been using essential oils which have dramatically reduced my blood pressure. It stunned me with the amount of the reduction.
It’s always wonderful when you get good news!
Wishing you a very happy Thursday and weekend to come. <3
I didn’t get good news with the first test, but the last one was amazing. Happy Thursday, Barbara. 🙂
What wonderful news! Staying active is so important as we get older!
It sure is. I was eating some bad things too. Like chips. Lots of chips and other food that I didn’t used to eat. They are all gone now. 🙂
Kudos – that’s a great accomplishment. Our Dad has that same battle and doesn’t want to take meds for it either.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
It’s a wise decision for us and we’ll do what needs doing to not have to take medication. 🙂
I’m thankful for our (new-to-us) 2013 Hyundai.🤗.💕
That’s a good thankful. Love and hugs. 🙂
Well done! It is much easier to keep your good health than to get it back.
It sure is and I want to be a healthy old lady. I’ve got a ways to go before I’m old though. 🙂
Mommy is your age. Do you want to make a reboot of the Golden Girls with her?
I would love to. 🙂
I have a physical scheduled in August. Not looking forward to it! I have been lazy and snacking…a lot!
Snacking is what caused me all the problems. I got rid of the chips, some pasta and potatoes and started walking. Amazing results. 🙂
I love your attitude in taking care of your own health. ♥
So many don’t. It’s a shame.
More smooches to Luke. 🙂
Congrats to you on controlling your health without meds ~ wonderful thank yous too !
Lots of love and hugs, to you ~

It’s what we all should do. Wkhy take medication if you can do something else. Happy weekend. 🙂
Hurray for healthy numbers! ~hugs~
Yes and my weight is going down too. A very nice side effect. Hugs. 🙂
Good for you! That was how I got my thyroid back in shape was with a diet change and exercise. I hope you have a great weekend 🙂
It’s amazing what we can do without medication. You just have to do the work. 🙂
To have good health as we age is such a blessing. Congrats on lowering the count without medication. It’s been too hot here to walk,,,,but I have no excuse for not doing my elliptical except that I just don’t make the time. xoxox
It’s hard to get out there at times, but I just go. It’s got to be done and the results are evident. Also my weight is going down. That’s even more wonderful. 🙂
