It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
Today I’m thankful for summer. Even though we have heatwaves here and there it’s still a fun time filled with boating, lots of good books, and tons of wonderful summer food. It’s time to get outdoors and enjoy Mother Nature.
I’m thankful that we are retired and have found many ways to keep ourselves busy. We vowed we wouldn’t sit in rockers in front of the television when we retired. We’ve not done that.
What are you thankful for today?

I am also thankful that I am retired. Too many interesting things to keep me busy until I have no time to sit and watch TV. Enjoy your boating, Sandee.
I hear you. Same goes for us. We’re having a great time too. 🙂
I am also thankful it is summer which eventually arrived yesterday! It is forecast to reach 80F by the beginning of next week which is way higher than we are used to! Normal summer temp for us is nearer 65.
Not being to hot is a good thing. We don’t mind 80 degree weather, but the summers here are usually in the 90s. 🙂
I’m thankful that I can finally cut my grass!
Hubby did that right before we came to the boat for our cruise. We’re having fun. 🙂
Good for you keeping busy. I’m afraid that if I retire I will spend too much time in font of the tv.
I do a lot of blogging, but when that’s done for the day I’m off doing other things. 🙂
It will be nice to be retired, as I also have plenty to keep me busy, but still a few years to go…
I’m thankful for good health, a good if stressful job 🙂
I enjoyed my working and am glad I did, but retirement is so wonderful. Good health is a wonderful thing. 🙂
Age has changed over the years. People in their 70’s now look more like 50’s, not like the seniors from when Mom is a kid. Seniors keep going and doing and we love that. No idea why retired people used to just stop doing life, it was a different time. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Yes there are lots of active seniors and we’re in the group. You’re right about the past too. I so remember. 🙂
I’m thankful for everyday joy that finds me in unexpected moments.

Me too, Regine. 🙂
I am smiling because while reading your post, I am in my rocker, with TV on, chatting with E friends.. butt I did walk the dog and do my pool excercise.. both of those are outside. ha ha
If you’re exercising then you’re okay. It’s amazing what happens when you don’t. 🙂
I am thankful to have found a vet practice that is entirely holistic. The pups don’t care, well, maybe they do since they always get tons of great (natural) treats when they are there and the vet tech sits on the floor with them and they’re never up on a stainless steel table, and they use the encourge and reward method instead of the force and get it done in a hurry method. Hmm, maybe the pups like it more than I thought.
I’m sure the pups are liking it way more than you know. Good for you. 🙂
You’ve done a great job of keeping to the theory of wearing out instead of rusting out. Hugs!
Exactly. The only way to go, my friend. Hugs back. 🙂
For many “normal” things like water etc. ❤
There are so many things to be thankful for. We just need to take the time to look around. 🙂
So glad you are making the best of it, retirement is so nice!
We love our retirement. It’s just the best. 🙂
Those are great thankfuls and being off your rockers is a good thing! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We’ve been off our rockers even when we were working. You already knew that. Thanks for hosting. 🙂
Happy Thursday! No sitting in a rocking chair for me either! There’s too much out there to enjoy! 🧡 💛 💚
Amen to that. We’re looking at life the same way. 🙂
Oh sure, rub in the whole ‘retired’ thing!
Hahahaha!
Because Summer isn’t Winter, I love it. I love being outside, hearing birdsong and listening the sound of leaves rustling in the wind.
Your day will come and you’ll enjoy it as much as we do. I can just tell. 🙂
Sad to say, my sixty year old husband is content just sitting in front of the computer or television. But I am thankful we enjoy lots of the same stuff. And he doesn’t mind if I go off by myself sometimes. On that note, I may go for a hike at the gorgeous arboretum nearby. ~hugs~ Have a great day, my dear.
Often when someone works all the time they enjoy just sitting when at home. We did that for a bit and then decided it was time to do fun things. Your hubby will probably do the same. Enjoy your hike. Hugs. 🙂
Here here on an active retirement. Motion is lotion to our ‘young’ joints
Hugs Cecilia
Yes you’re right about the motion being the lotion. Hugs. 🙂
Retired? I’m just tired.
I love you, Kismet. 🙂
As my sweetie says “Retirement is way under rated”! We are also enjoying our free time to travel, make art and work on many home improvements! Next week I’ll post our bathroom improvements! Cheers and enjoy the outdoors! xoxox
It sure is. There are so many wonderful things to do that we didn’t have time to do when we were working. 🙂
Wonderful thankfuls ~ so glad the ‘rockers’ didn’t get you ~ ^_^
Lots of Xo and love to you,

We don’t even have rocking chairs. We’re good with that too. Love and hugs to you both. 🙂
I’m thankful I don’t need surgery on my fractured ankle!!!
That is good news. Get well soon. 🙂
Thank You!
Have a great day, Cloudia. 🙂
I always thought about being retired and all I would do and then ended up pretty handicapped after my accident. Ah well I did so much in my life I have great memories and one of them is boating. Yay boats
Life deals us a hand and we play those cards. I see you have no regrets. As it should be. Yes, yay boats. 🙂
If you get too hot, feel free to drive west. We are hard pressed to get above 60 here on the North Coast…which is one of my thankfuls this week!
I know this is true. The weather is perfect right now. 🙂
Can’t say I am thankful for summer. If I could skip July and August I would, it is just too hot and humid! But, I am thankful for the life I have. I am certainly thankful that I am retired. I love it! Never had a job that I loved. There was one that I liked…
It does get hot here, but I’m a fair weather kinf of gal. 🙂
It is always good to be thankful. I used the same photo on both blogs. I must be tired. Appreciate all you do. Thank you.
Being tired happens to all of us. Hugs. 🙂
Blogger and LInky just do not like me! Sifh…but somehow I manage with you and Brian both helping me get to where I need to go. THANK YOU
Terry is most wonderful. I love this hop he hosts. Hugs. 🙂
I’m liking this summer, too. It’s been fairly moderate temps lately, with occasional rain showers.
Sounds like y’all are having a fun summer, too! <3
We are used to these summers. We stay in if it’s too hot and play when it’s not. 🙂
It’s been a lovely summer here so far. Milder but August is coming!! Still thankful.
Our summer has been cooler overall. Have had triple digit weather, but lots of cooler in between. 🙂
It sounds like your retirement is blissful. That’s the way it should be 🙂
It is indeed. 🙂
Wonderful thankfuls. I will be a lot more thankful when fall arrives though. 🙂 XO
Fall is a favorite season for many. I like fall, but not winter. xoxo 🙂
I’m thankful hubby will soon be retired🤗
It’s a most wonderful thing. 🙂
Thankful that we are retired too! 💞 Never a dull moment! xoxoxo
Never a dull moment, indeed. Happy day and weekend, Bette. 🙂
I am thankful for summer too! You most certainly have not retired to your rockers. I have the impression that you live a very fun life!
We do live a very fun life. 🙂
Retired and summer is a great combination
It sure is. 🙂
It has been raining and the weather is so lovely that we can be outside. I am loving summer right now!
Enjoy it while you can. It’s dry up here. 🙂
It’s a good exercise being thankful for all the things that bring us joy. Well done, Sandee!
Yes it is and it’s so easy to do. Happy day and weekend. Scritches to the pups and a big smooch to Norman. 🙂
I know too many people who spend way too much time watching TV, glad to hear you have resisted that! Hubby and I watch about an hour in the evenings and that’s it, and usually just have the news on when we’re doing other things. I don’t think that will change once we retire – we like to keep busy!
We do the same where television is concerned. We have to many other things to do. Smooches to Luke. 🙂
