It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
I’m thankful for the wonderful anniversary cruise hubby and I had together this past weekend. Being out on the water was most wonderful. We enjoyed some great food, lots of reading and just being together.
The top photograph was all the goslings we got to enjoy seeing all weekend long. They were most adorable.
The bottom photograph is a cigar boat that’s about 40′ long. The driver of this vessel was not a captain. He only knew how to go straight and fast. He almost hit us multiple times trying to get that boat on the dock. Hubby went over to help, but he wasn’t having that. He ending up running the boat up on the dock right across the cleat. I’m sure there was some damage to his boat. We were directly across from him. We’re thankful that he came near our boat, but didn’t run into our boat.
What are you thankful for today?

I am glad you had a lovely anniversary cruise on your boat. It sounds like the person on the other boat was a total idiot and shouldn’t be on the water.
We had a great time. There are a lot of idiots out there and add some alcohol and they’re even more stupid. 🙂
So happy to hear you had a nice anniversary celebration.
I hate to say it but the guy with the other boat sounds like an idiot especially since he wouldn’t accept help when it was offered.
I think this guy was very embarrassed. He did a very poor job of docking his boat. 🙂
Happy Anniversary🎉 Sounds like you had a nice, relaxing one, expect for that other dude. 🤗((Hugs))
Not bad for a weekend. It was very windy so that didn’t help either. 🙂
Some of those people with the fancy things they can’t handle are a real menace, but we are glad he didn’t hit you. Sounds like you enjoyed your weekend.
You have that right. He didn’t act like he knew what he was doing. 🙂
The baby geese are so cute and we are so happy that you had a most wonderful anniversary cruise!
Oh they were all over the place and in the water too. So cute. We did have a most wonderful anniversary cruise. 🙂
I’ve always wondered why boat drivers didn’t have to pass a boat driving test and get a boat driving licence. I am also thankful he didn’t hit your boat.
I am thankful that Riley’s eye is beginning to heal and absorb the eye tissue sewn over it to protect and nourish it. It’s been what feels like a long and expensive road to save that big, beautiful brown eye, but it will be worth it all.
I’m glad Riley is coming along. Yes it’s worth it. I would have done the same. 🙂
Back in the day when I lived in South Florida, I went boating every weekend. I was shocked at the number of boaters that should not be operating a boat. I’m glad you and your boat are safe. Happy Thursday!
Yes and it’s no different here. They are most frightening. Happy Thursday, Eugenia. 🙂
Sounds like a nice trip except for the near miss, but glad he didn’t hit your boat. I would think one would need to pass a test to steer a boat. XO
No there aren’t any tests to drive a boat, but here are lots of captains out there that can help you operate your boat properly. 🙂
I love you my Only. I am thankful I am married to you. I love you and thank you for the wonderful Anniversary Cruise.
Your loving Husband.
z
Thank you for being my husband and we did have a wonderful anniversary cruise. Love you. 🙂
they should require boat license just like drivers license. there are many out here on boats that do not belong driving one, especially thee big fast dangerous boats. glad you were not hit or shot for offering help. so glad you got your anniversary cruise..
Oh the cigar boats are all over the place here in the summertime. They can be frightening at times. Then there are the Delta Destroyers. Houseboats. They are a vessel to watch out for. 🙂
Very happy to hear your anniversary cruise was wonderful
Cigar boat: straight and fast…ummm sounds like that guy had more money than brains ..I don’t know what it is about folks not accepting assistance when they clearly need it.
Hugs Cecilia
He did have more money than brains. He was most frightening too. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
Those are really good thankfuls! I think I mentioned this before, but I use to have my Charter Captain’s License so I can appreciate the scariness of docking when someone hasn’t a clue of what they are doing. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh a real captain. Once a captain always a captain. Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. 🙂
What a nice trip! Reading and cruising on the water 🙂 Happy Anniversary!
It was a most wonderful anniversary weekend. We’re planning our next weekend now. 🙂
So very thankful for family and for the times we can spend together (even though sometimes it’s online time)! Have a terrific day, Sandy!
Online time is good too. I’ve met so many wonderful bloggers over the years. You have a terrific day too, Bette. 🙂
Wonderful photos from your cruise and anniversary! Love those babies! Have fun today!
We had lots of pictures, but to many to post. We had a fabulous anniversary and cruise. 🙂
Sometime people really amaze us with there rude/stupidness!
This guy was plain scary. That vessel had a lot of horsepower and he was gunning it back and forth. Frightening. 🙂
One of my funniest (tragic-comedic) events I ever saw was when a friend took me to fish in his small boat.
We arrived at the boat ramp and were waiting for a guy backing his boat trailer into the water to pick up his very large expensive and classy in-board motor boat. He and a friend has apparently been on the water for some time judging by the beer cans and booze bottles strewn in the boat.
He backed the trailer completely underwater and the rear axles of his truck to where the tailgate was in the water.
He then directed the driver of the boat to bring the boat over. The fellow was having difficult aiming the boat at the trailer and revved the engine a couple of times to run it forward and backward. As we watched, he got the boat turned to a 90⁰ angle to the ramp, pointing straight at the seawall. Then with a lurch, he either fell over or somehow hit the throttle and jammed the boat into the seawall full throttle, crushing over a quarter of the bow almost up to the wheel!!
As it sank, Joe and I decided to eat our lunch early figuring it would be a while before they got out of the way.
I commented to Joe, that surely they had insurance. He said, “Not for tha-a-a-a-t” as we laughed so hard we couldn’t eat our sandwiches.
Oh they are out there and many have those expensive boats. We saw one the marina next to ours that sank. All you could see was the bow of the boat in the water. He flipped it and it sunk stern first. He was showing off for everyone in the restaurant. Bless his heart. 🙂
Love seeing the geese! I’m glad the guy didn’t run into y’all! So happy to hear your weekend was wonderful. <3
We had a fabulous weekend and we’re looking forward to our next cruise out. It’s going to be a great boating year. 🙂
There’s always the one nut job. Anyway, i am so glad you had a great weekend!
We saw this this one nut job all weekend. Lucky us. 🙂
Oh My Goodness what a nice boat. I am so green with envy. That looks like a Wellcraft. We are not sure they even still make boats but Dad had an 86 Scarab 30′ with twin 454’s. There is nothing like the sound of twin big blocks humming as you cruise along a 45-50mph passing everything on the river.
Have a wonderful safe time out on the water where all the worries and cares of life simply sink away when you pull off the dock.
It is a nice boat, but that boat isn’t ours. We have a SeaRay Sundancer 340. It’s our condo on the water. This go fast boat belongs to someone that needs to learn how to drive it. 🙂
Much to be thankful for as we watched our daughter have her doctorate conferred on her at the University of Florida
That trip is certainly a reason to be thankful
We had a great time. 🙂
Happy Anniversary! A cruise sounds like the perfect way to celebrate.
Thank you. It was most perfect, Yvonne. 🙂
I’m so glad that idiot didn’t ruin your outing. ~hugs~ Happy sailing, my dear!
We are too, but my blood pressure was through the roof until he got tied up. Frightening man. 🙂
Oh Sandee ~ do hope you had a lovely Anniversary boating weekend ~ Those cigarette boats I never did like and still don’t and the owners invariably are not likeable either ~
Sorry I am late in wishing you Happy Anniversary ~ lots of Xo to you from me and Angel ~ Happy Weekend ^_^

We had a most wonderful Anniversary weekend. It was perfect. Love and hugs to you both. 🙂
Sounds like that cigar boat driver was over-compensating for something. 😉 Gld you had a nice anniversary cruise.
You could be right about that. He sure was scary. 🙂
Goodness, the idiots are everywhere, aren’t they? We’re so glad he didn’t hit you and that you had a great cruise in spite of that. The goslings are adorable!
He came very close to hitting us and more than once. Yes I enjoyed seeing the goslings all weekend long. More smooches to Luke. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by! I guess somehow my other blog here on WP got messed up 🙁 I am still learning wp hope you have a blessed week beautiful phots glad you didn’t get hit
I remember that learning curve. It gets better and WordPress is so much better than blogspot. 🙂
I am thankful for the mobility that is left to me.
That’s a wonderful thing to be thankful for. 🙂
