Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful I’m retired. I worked for many years and enjoyed it for the most part, but nothing beats retirement. We get up when we want, we go where we want and we do what we want. That hurried stressful and demanding work is behind us. We stay active, but we don’t miss work one bit.

I’m thankful that I get to spend my days with my husband. He’s such a jewel. I remember all the times that I saw him over the years and thought how handsome he was and how I’d love to be his other half. I knew it never would be, but a girl can dream. Little did I know that my dream would come true.

What are you thankful for today?

What a great feeling being able to get up when you want and not have to live by an alarm clock. That is my favorite part about my days off, not hearing that alarm go off.

Retirement sure sounds fun, but dad thinks he won’t be able to sit still when his time comes. Plus, he’s pretty sure mom’s not going to want him just hanging around all day every day, even though they are each other’s best friend. They just celebrated their 10th anniversary!

We always love hearing your love story 🙂 Being retired would be awesome for mom. She has so many things she would like to do but work gets in the way. Hopefully one day it will happen.

Beautiful list of thankfulness. I thought that when hubby and I retired, we will get on each other’s nerve but thankful that we are enjoying each other’s company.

We have a alone time during the day and that’s a good thing. We come together in the evening and read, have dinner and watch a bit of Netflix or Amazon Prime and then it’s time for bed. 🙂

I’m thankful that after Levi’s first professional grooming appt at the place where Dakota was the PERFECT, well-behaved client for 13 years, that they are actually allowing Levi to come back. BOL!! Happy Thursday!

Sandee I 100% agree about retirement…I loved my job at NC State U and all the wonderful friends I made and the memories. I so enjoyed reading your thankfuls…Dreams do come true.

Yes retirement is scary at first, but it’s wonderful. We’re enjoying it to its fullest. Yes, sometimes dreams do come true. Big hug. 🙂

Aww, why didn’t you think it would ever happy with your hubby? It’s so lovely when you hear a dream has come true, and you’re still together now, still cruising & still talking! 😉 Happy Thursday, Sandee – I hope you both have a lovely evening xx

We were each married to other people. I divorced 10 years before Zane and I got together. Hubby is a very loyal person. He was not happy in his marriage, but he would have never left. She told him to get out and he did. Little did she know he would never go back. I knew him better than she did. So he came over to my work place with one of his buddies and asked me out for coffee. That’s when he told me that his wife told him to get out. I was doing the happy dance hearing that news. 🙂

What a wonderful story! ~hugs~ You make me smile. I am thankful that my husband and I have made each other laugh since 1989. 🙂 We had our ups and downs, but retirement took a lot of stress away. Hurray for free time and relaxed psyches.

I think my husband likes being retired from working days. I never had a job to be retired from, just little part time things once in awhile, but I’m glad he is home and we can do what we want.
Hope your day has been good, and that your Friday gets off to a great start! <3

We’re thankful we all got rescued and now live in a big house with big windows and sunspots. Our mom isn’t retired yet, but she’s looking forward to it. She’s thankful she was able to buy this house 6 years ago after being a renter forever. We live in the Los Angeles area so houses are really overpriced and hard to afford if you’re just one person, but she did it so she’s very thankful, even if we haven’t replaced the hideous pink carpet in the living room yet. We like to claw it up, which is just fine with her.

I LOVE being retired! People kept asking me what I would do when I finally did and I felt like maybe I should do something, but you know, I LOVE the few found freedom. I have not yet done anything I said I might do, except read and I’ve probably read 50-60 books in the last 5 months. I’ve not built the website I said I would and I’ve not made any art, I’ve not sold any of the hubby’s stuff but I am quite happy. I would love to go and visit my friends and family though, so I am quite looking forward to these things loosening up in the next 6 months.
